Cant beat it for the price, considering the price of Windows 7 software ALONE.
Have reccommended and installed approx 14 of these units to people as replacements for their ancient computers. NO problems with any of them yet.

I bought this computer about 3 weeks ago & it works great.It is well worth the money.I bought this emachine because of the reviews ,the price & i love the 20in monitor.I bought this computer as a replacement for my old refurbished computer i had.I love the fact it was easy to set up .I just love everything about this computer,monitor is clear &bright &the built in speakers are excellent, the only downside is i wish it came with a bit more than 2GB of memory but i can always add more ,so for the money this is an excellent computer ,i would recommend this computer to anyone,i will be buying my husband this same computer for Christmas.

I bought one system and had to take it back to the store to exchange it because the monitor had some flickering going on. The new one works great for light use. All I do is email and some online shopping. I would not recommend this for heavy graphics, video or multimedia use. It only comes with 2GB of Ram, so I added another 2GB and it's working much better now. I like the dual core processor. I noticed a good difference, but AMD processors (this computer) is noticeably slower than a pentium. It's interesting that this computer has an HDMI port but does not come with an HDMI monitor, but the 20" monitor is very nice even it being an SVGA.

I am very happy with this computer. Very easy to set up and you will have it up and running in no time at all. Love the compact tower. Nice large screen monitor. I use it for my online business and it's fast and efficient. The only con that I could mention is that the mouse cord is a bit short (probably a standard length) and since it has to be plugged into the tower, it would be nice if it had a longer cord. So, I use my old keyboard and mouse because with my old keyboard, I can plug my mouse directly into the keyboard. Other than that, I love everything about it.

I purchased an Acer in February and started having problems within a month. It is making a horrible beeping noise and freezes up. When I went to do a warranty claim I put in the information and Acer said my warranty expired and had my purchase date wrong. They then told me to call Walmart. Acer outsources their customer service to another country and it is almost impossible to talk to anyone on the phone. I finally got to speak to a chat agent who kept dodging the issue and telling me to fax proof of purchase. When I asked her who registered the product she said I did. however when I looked in the products registered under my name my purchase date was right. DO NOT BUY AN ACER UNLESS YOU CAN FIX HARDWARE ON A COMPUTER YOURSELF because if you have an issue they are going to run you around so much you will pull out all your hair!

Be advised all amd E-300 processor are soldered onto the motherboard, you can never upgrade the processor and will have to buy a new motherboard to be able to go over 1.3ghz a core.

People that really know computers shouldn't expect the bells and whistles for a $350+ emachine. To low ball a rating because the processor is soldered on is a bit unfair, just about all of emachines components are soldered on and have been that way since Best Buy first started carrying them back in 2001. If you wan an upgradable PC go with Dell or a similar brand.

I bought this computer for my parents to replace their dinosaur of a machine that had been rebuilt multiple times, and an old CRT monitor to this little beauty. The tower is very small and virtually silent, not heavy at all - and has a nice look with some nice neon green led accents going around the power button. It has a couple of USB ports, an SD card slot, and headphone and microphone jacks on the front. Also there are four more USB ports in the back in addition to an HDMI port. It was very easy to assemble, only took about 5 minutes. The built in speakers on the monitor were a nice bonus, though not very loud. My dad is hard of hearing, so we ended up hooking up some external speakers that had a lot more volume. The keyboard has the perfect amount of "clackiness" to it, not one those old loud ones, but not one of those flat impossible-to-be-typo-free ones. Also, on the top of the keyboard are volume up and down controls and a mute button. Handy for my parents who find it difficult to locate that little speaker icon in the corner of the screen. This isn't a computer you would want for high powered gaming, though I checked and it will run World of Warcraft on low settings reasonably well. This computer is perfect for their needs - seaching the web, watching youtube videos, playing facebook games, and watching movies. For the price, it's a great bargain. And my parents love it!
