It was Veterans Day and I wanted to get my husband a new PC. It is a great machine for the price. It had the operating system and RAM we needed for everyday operation and twice the harddrive space as the Fry's version of the same machine (mfg. is ACER). The Fry's version had half the memory, but came with a standard monitor. We have lots of photos and music and already had a higher quality monitor, so we were very happy that the Walmart version smartly offered more memory vs. the cheap monitor. I ordered it for same day store pickup. I like the user friendly website that showed which stores in my area had it in stock, so that I didn't have to wait a day to pick it up. I received a bonus when I arrived at the store as the price had dropped another $20. All of the Walmart staff were friendly and helpful. I had other pc questions while I was there and I found a team member who was quite knowledgeable. As someone who works with software systems for a living, I found my experience was better than expected. I want to add that this was especially appreciated as my husband, a Marine and Veteran of two wars, was treated like a theif at Fry's when we returned the other machine, unopened, after finding a better value at Walmart. And on Veterans Day of all days! We won't go to Fry's again.

This computer is easy to set up with no hiccups I've found for 3 weeks now. Fast and my 1st windows 7 and of course loving that. Easy to use interface and the fact I can run a photo editor plus have 2-3 more tabs open at the same time without it becoming sluggish is a must for me. I don't play games so I can't address that. I recommend Spedy Pro Pc for any computer after you set up the programs you load. Only one week after I was set up and loaded with all my sofware it had over 1100 items scanned and fixed that instanly I noticed an improvment. Word and Excel is a great bonus since I had that on the old XP and if just used for word processer it does the job.

I purchased this machine with Windows Office as part of the purchase. To activate the Office software I entered the product key found on the tower. The response says the product key number is not valid. Who do you contact now about this? There appears to be no customer service.

I have about 5 weeks since I purchased this product and it is junk. We bought it for school use. Since the 3rd week, it started freezing, not saving work, taking a loooong time to open files, etc.. and, NO, I do not have an internet on it. So it had no source of threat from that. Buy this product only if you can keep your cool and take on whatever fate it may bestow upon you.

I've been using e-machines for over a decade. My 86 year old father needed a new tower and this was perfect. His basic computer needs were met at an outstanding price. Also a big plus; ordering from my cozy home and picking it up at my local Wal-Mart with NO shipping charge. How great is that!!!

Very disappointed. This is the third emachine I have purchased. No problems with the first two. This one would not go on line. After six hours with emachine tech support and they blaming my provider they said it was a software problem and was not covered my warranty. I took it back and got a HP and went on line with no problems.

This machine boots up very fast & does all that I need it to do. Plenty of hard drive space for downloads, and although the processor isn't all that fast compared to other models, for the price you can't beat it. Be sure to have a monitor when before buying.

I bought this to replace the boat anchor that our old Dell had become. I like it's compact size, number of easily reached USB ports and ease of set up. It was literally, plug and play.
The only thing that bothers me is the power button glows green and flashes. Not a big deal.

First, let me state that our computer was only used for normal usage and not gaming. About a month before our 1yr warranty expired, our mother board went out and we had to ship the computer to Texas to be repaired. Less than a week later the hard drive went out and we shipped it once again to Texas to be repaired. The hard drive was NEVER fixed and after a couple weeks it began to do what it did when it was sent in to be fixed the second time. They did the bare minimum needed to keep it working beyond the allotted warranty time. We called the manufacturer and since we were out of warranty by this time, their automated service hung the phone up on us and has our phone number in their database so we can't speak directly to anyone. They do not make good on that 1yr manufacturer warranty so I strongly recommend purchasing additional warranties if you want this computer to work for longer than a year!

I had delayed replacing my old computer with a newer model w/ newer operating system because I hated the idea of reloading all the software and moving all the personal files and photos. And, of course, there was the money. But, when my hard drive went bad and new components didn't work with my old motherboard, I had to start shopping. This eMachine was actually recommended to me by a computer geek friend. The price was good; and, I must say, it has worked like a dream. I am not particularly computer savvy, but I was able to easily install my software, set up my email, and move my documents without losing a single file or picture. I love the slim case...much smaller than my old one. I was a little concerned about the verticle DVD/CD drive and I have to be careful how I load it, but it works fine.
