We have been looking at tablets for the past 2 months. The more we looked, the more confused we got... Well, we found the Toshiba Thrive with 32 gig.
The most important thing about the Toshiba Thrive are the connection ports...
•USB 2.0 port, Mini-USB 2.0 port, HDMI port, dock connector port and SD memory cards.
You do not relize how important these connections are until you try to go without them.
It is so simple to hook the tablet up to a computer, insert a thumb drive, or a SD memory card and copy movies, games or whatever to them and go. You can also use WiFi to move your stuff.
As far as the tablet itself, it has the Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) Operating System which is upgradeable to "Ice Cream" when it comes out and then to "Jellybean" later this fall when it comes out.
All-in-all, it is the very best Tablet on the market now.

A Question for JoAnne078...
Posted 03/19/2012
Hi JoAnne. I would like to ask you something if you don't mind.
I have one of these things also. I bought it on Black Friday 2011 and it worked beautifully. Then Honeycomb 3.2 got onto it. Since you have HC3.2 on yours, am I correct in assuming that is what was on it when you purchased it? I have been writing a story with QuickOfficeProHD. I am using the SD card to save my work. Since the HC3.2 update this has not been possible for me. I wonder if you are having the same issue with that. You mentioned using thumb drives and SD cards. Do you write to them from the Thrive with Android apps or do you just read from them with stuff you load onto them from your computer?
I am asking about any document editor such as I mentioned above or any of the many notepad-like apps on the Android Marketplace. If you have used these to successfully save a file to an SD card or thumb drive I would be curious to know. Mine does not allow writing to the SD card from any apps and when a thumb drive is inserted the tablet says 'no USB storage connected'.
Do you have similar issues?
