Just as all the reviews said, we had to buy extra chain. Since I had read the review and knew this would probably be the case, I was prepared for it. Had I not read this in advance I might have been a little irritated.

The front chains do not attach to the arms but off to the side so when swinging the chain scratches the sides of the arms. I didn't notice that in the picture when we bought it, if I would have I would not have purchased this item. And yes the chain is way too short. Such a hasstle to take the bench apart and put back in the box and send back so my husband had to fix the chain problem by attaching them to the arms, where they should have been in the first place.

We really like it. Its probably the best one they have available since its already coated. Some of them featured need to be finished. Its comfortable and heavy duty. Satisfied!

This is a beautiful swing! The color is rich and complements the back yard perfectly. The back of the swing is a little short, but for someone of average height it is perfect!

With just a few screws and two people to put it together, it's done in minutes. It's such a dark brown, it looks black, but I like it anyway. We had a wood swing set we didn't use anymore since my kids were older, so we took down the individual swings and replaced it with the porch swing. It looks great! I'd definately recommend this swing. You can easily pick up some padding if you prefer that and they run around $25.

I ordered this swing and looked forward to having it. What a disappointment it has been. First, one of the arms were not drilled out, so I had to drill out and go get different bolts than those that came with it. Then the chain was too short. So I got chain extensions. However, the chain it came with is too small to fit any S hooks. In fact, it doesn't fit the S hook included with the product. Not at all happy.

Broken in a month

Looks great but falls short on quality. I am 140 lbs not a large load and a month of gentle use has already snapped one of the bottom support boards. A real shame it was perfect. Also the chains are not long enough to hang from a patio roof fyi.

Not 450 lb load

This is an attractive swing, but don't believe that it holds 450 lbs. Maybe for a few minutes, but not on a routine basis. My husband and I sat together and we weigh less than 400, but the wood was snapping and creaking so my husband jumped up.

The swing looks great but the chain was way too short. Our porch ceiling isn't extremely high either. The description also doesn't include chain length measurements which would have been helpful in this situation.

Easy to put together alone. took about 15 minutes with easy to follow instructions. Nice look and built sturdy. Bought some teak oil at Home Depot, put it on with a brush, wiped off excess with dry cloth and that made the wood really stand out. I hung it in an existing arbor covered with honeysuckle vine.
