My wife & I have owned Dirt Devil Vacs for the last 15-20 years total of 3. We have gotten fantastic service from them. We will shop gfor no others. BUT this particular vac was TERRIBLE!! This vac is ONLY a 10 amp, not good suction, my Breeze bagless is a MUCH better vac & it is 7-9 years old!!!! I did take this model back & exchanged for the U70010 Dirt Devil. Now this is a vac!!!

I have had this vacuum for a few months only. At first it was great! Now it is already starting to have problems. Although we keep it clean it doesn't pick up as well and today the hose fell off!! After using a flathead screwdriver to shove it back in, then taping it with duct tape, I was able to get it back in working condition, but I shouldn't have to do that. The hose, I could see, is not held in well and will most likely fall out again. I would not buy this product again.

So far it seems to be doing the job. We have gone thru about 7 machines in the last 12 years and I was getting real tired of spending a lot of money on the higher end machines only to have them go to dump. I remember my mothers Hoover she had that machine for as many years as I can remember. She got it when we were just kids and it was still in use in her house when she passed away. I have not seen a machine as good since from any of the manufacturers. I would just like to get what I pay for. But we shall see if this machine last even two years. If it does I think I will be happy cause it did not cost me $400 to $1000.

Vacuum came assembled, ready and easy to use and clean. So far (Ihave had it a week, used twice) I am happy to report . . . it has done what it was purchased to do well. I was surprised with the first use how much excess dirt & dust my 2 room apartment had. I emptied 3X the first vac, but I have notice that I am not eating cat hair anymore . . . I am breathing easier. I will practice to empty the canister with EVERY use.

I bought this vacuum for a great price. I loved everything about this vacuum, it though-rally cleaned all the carpet in my house, both the high and low carpet. I used this vacuum every day to clean my carpet and hard wood floors. Then one day it got clogged from the hose that connects the base to the actual hose, this was extremely hard to unclog, as I had to take the entire base of the vacuum apart to get to the clog and where it was clogged there is a almost 90 degree angle that was near impossible to clean out. Finally with it being unclogged I am able to use the vacuum again. Keep in mind that this took a over a half hour to take apart clean out and put back together. Vacuuming again after it got clogged the 1st time was horrible. Every time I used this vacuum after it got clogged I had to keep taking it apart to keep getting out clogs. I also cleaned all the filters out after each use to see if this would eliminate the clogging issue, and this did not help. Basically evrytime I used it it got clogged and finally after 2 weeks of spending over a half hour a day on the clogs it kept getting I had to take it back. This vacuum worked excellent in the beginning, but by the time I took it back it was not worth all the up-keep.

bought this vacuum yesterday & the belt is already broken, everything else in the vacuum is fine just the belt. i was able to do my stairs & thats it. i have 2 dogs & a cat, i exchanged it for a bissell the dirt devil was not built to handle lots of fur.. althought its light and easy to maneuver im dissapointed that i had to go back after a day of owning it.

My neighbor bought one of these she has 5 cats and one dog. She brought it up for me to use so I ordered one. It is absouloutely fantastic and picks up the hair of my 3 cats. I was shocked how much my other Bissell missed when I used this. Strong suction and easy to carry around. It came put together so no assembly required. Excellent for the price.

I actually went to Walmart to get a different vacuum. I really need a good small vacuum for my apartment. The other one was out of stock, so I was looking at all the pet vacuums they had. I have a dog with long wire hair and he sheads really bad. This is by far the best pet vacuum I ever used!! It picked up all the hair and dust off my carpet and bare floors. My carpet and rugs look so nice and clean now. The only problem I have is the opening dirt cup is kinda small so all the dirt and hair does not fall out easy. Also the handle feels a little cheap and not really stable. For the price I can't complain to much. I say definitely buy this if you need something small, light, easy to store, and very powerful!

Just moved into a small Apartment and this unit more then does the job and we have had no issues with it.
Cleans easy and suction has stayed true to this point.

I bought this on a Saturday and used it twice in my one-bedroom house (vacuumed a total of maybe 100 square feet) and the belt broke by the third use. The beater bar wasn't bound up or anything, the belt just broke. I took it back to try a different brand. Extremely disappointed, cheaply built, poor quality. I thought it was funny that it had a 1-year warranty when I had to return it by the following Tuesday.

I've had this vacuum for 2 days and I'm taking it back to Walmart tomorrow!! The vacuum doesn't seem to pick up anything. I've "vacuumed" 2 rooms in my house and there is nothing in the dirt cup? Don't waste your money or time on this product!

my husband and i decided on this vacuum cleaner because we have a hound that sheds everywhere in the house and we had no way to clean that up. i was impressed by how quick it cleaned the carpets and that little pet hair tool with brushes cleaned our blankets and comforter. the dog likes to stay in the bed but we had no idea how much hair the vacuum can pull off the comforter. works good with carpet cleaners too. spray, leave 15 minutes and vacuum, takes the spots off. im a little worried by the reviews that say it clogs and lose suction fast, but i hope that won't happen for long time. for now, im pleased with my purchase

I moved into a new apartment with carpet. The previous owner had a cat that shed everywhere, and the landlord never had the carpets vaccuumed/cleaned. I also have a long hair dog that sheds a lot twice a year when her undercoat comes out. I thought this vaccuum sounded perfect for my needs. The first time I used it, it seemed to work great. The dirt cup filled up quickly with dust and hair. The second time I used it, it stopped working well. I'd say the suction was at 25% of what it was before. I meticulously cleaned the various filters, the dirt cup, and the dirt cup. I tried again, and it still didn't seem to be at 100%. The third time I used it, the hose had 0 suction. I had to pick up the entire vaccuum and run it over my couch. The fourth time I used it, the entire vaccuum had 0 suction. It just pushed around debris on my carpet. After running the vaccuum over my entire living room area, the dirt cup is still completely empty. I have guests coming over soon, and this is very frustrating. Since I am no longer spending the next 30 minutes vaccuuming, I decided I will spend that time productively by whining on the internet. I understand this isn't a Dyson and that it's just some cheap $70 vaccuum, but that doesn't mean I should be happy that my $70 vaccuum gave me only 1 good clean. I will be switching back to Hoover next time.

This vaccume glides effortlessly across my capet, and is so easy to switch to bare foor. Has powerfull suction. I like the tools with the ribbs, picked up the pet hair on the couch and stairway with ease. I like the canister, no bags to buy and very easy to keep it clean. I'm very happy with this model.

it does ok but i think my bissel for 44 bucks done better.sorry dirt devil it not suppost to throw out dyst and it does that is the main reason i bought this.is because of the dust from the carpet.over priced

We have had this vacuum for about 3 weeks now. It works wonderfully. It gets our carpets clean and I love that I can use it on bare floors. I like how easy it is to empty. I don't know why people are complaining about suction. I know it could be better but you bought a $70 vacuum. You get what you pay for. I gave it 4 stars because the Carbon filter cover pops off all the time. I have issues wit the pet attachment staying connected but since I don't use it a lot , due to having a hand-held shark we use for the couches, its not a huge issue.
