They're really big, my daughter uses from 4 to 6 sizes, but this ones are like for an 7-8 year old girl.

If your daughter is very slim waisted, these shorts will be too big. My girl is 10 but very tiny in the waist (always need slim size, with adjustable waist). I bought the size 7-8 thinking the smaller size would fit OK. They fell off of her! If these had a drawstring they would be fine. The material was bright colors, nice patterns.

My daughter uses them for modest swimwear. They are made for surfing & would be great for jet skiing too. The only reason we didn't give them 5 stars is they aren't adjustable. Having the size range 14/16 it would be helpful if you could tie them or somehow adjust them to make them smaller so they are snug for the girl who would need a size 14 over a 16 normally. We simply pin the sides for her this year & hopefully they will fit better next summer.

My daughter was looking for longer board shorts for this summer, which are getting increasingly harder to find! We were so pleased to find these for a great price and such low shipping! We ordered a set right away, and they did take a bit longer than I expected to get here (maybe 10 days), but that's all right. My daughter was very excited to wear them, but they were way too big and baggy (there is no drawstring or adjustable waistband inside - just a velcro closure tab on the front). We tried safety-pinning them, but they still didn't stay up very well, and the safety-pin look was . . . well, bunchy . . . to say the least. :-) We are going to re-order in a smaller size and just save the current ones for next year!
