The product works wonderfully. Only problem is the tub has a rather large scoop and this 5 lb. tub isn't large enough to clean many loads of clothing. Beware when opening the shipping box sent from Wal-Mart. The lid of the tub of Oxi-Clean powder that I received was OPEN and the granules were everywhere but it the original container.

Had a pile of sweatshirt favorites...all with greasy set-in stains/spots on the front of them that wouldn't budge. Tried over and over, using different methods and products of pre-soak and pre-treat stain removers. Added a full scoop (provided inside) of the OxyClean to a full load of thirteen sweatshirts (from last year football season barbeque's). All had a variety of stubborn stains that had been through a few loads of laundry and the dryer cycles...so they were well set-in stains. Initially I let them soak in OxyClean with warm water for an hour, then ran them through the normal cycle with a second rinse. (Had previously done the same routine with many different products). After loading them all through the dryer cycle again, I was shocked to see that all the set in oil stains were finally, completely gone!

Greatest Product for Removing Stains and Dirt

After using this product some years ago for removal of stains and dirt, I couldn't find a rug cleaner to remove pet stains and dirt. Tried it in my rug shampooer and have not used anything else on my rugs. No need to worry about fading colors as it just removes the stains and dirt and the carpet looks brand new. So, if you truly want clean and new looking carpets, use Oxiclean. And it's great in the laundry! Money well spent and saved.

Hi, found your posting very interesting. May I ask what ratio (h2o to oxi-clean) you used? I'd like to clean some of my carpets too and didn't know you could use on carpeting. Thanks for the tip.

I have a very busy household with kids and pets.... and tons of daily stains on clothing! I use oxyclean as a laundry booster in my front-loader washer. I take about half of a 1/4c and mix with warm water in a plastic measuring cup (which I hang off my laundry tub with a spoon). It gets our laundry cleaner than soap alone. It takes care of all the baby messes (spit up, accidents....) and makes my whites brighter. I cannot live without this stuff for stains. I use it as a pretreated soak for all our stains (sunscreen, grass, mud, diaper leaks...). I use about 1/2 cup and dissolve in my measuring cup with warm water. I add this to 1 gal of cool water and let my items soak for 1-4 days. I check on them the following day and if the stains are still there I add about 2 tbsp of this to warm water and let soak another day. The first soaking usually takes care of it and the stain releases from the item. I than wash as usual. If the stain is really stubborn or old (item has been washed and dried several times with stains on them) I pretreat like above and follow with shout and rub in the shout with a brush (I use the empty shout advance container). Works like a charm! I pick up stained clothes at garage sales for quarters and presoak them into looking like new even if they are stained and dingy! I have tried the generic versions which faded my clothes, made my colors bleed, and did not take care of stains!

Before using this product, I would try to pre-treat any stains I found on my clothes before washing. However, sometimes a few stains would slip by and I would go to wear (for instance) a top again only to find a stain. Now with Oxi-Clean I do not have that problem! I still pre-treat any obvious stains and I can trust Oxi-Clean to find and REMOVE the rest. I use a scoop in almost every load of laundry and I am very happy with the outcome!!
