I did get this monitor on sale. So that made it even better. It has worked great no problems so far. The only thing is the screen is supposed to be colored. It varies from balck and white and a little color. But it's not a deal breaker.

my son is autistic and is being tested for epilepsy so I bought this monitor in hopes to be able to keep an eye on him when hes playing in his room and more so when he is asleep I would not recommend this product for the simple fact that it is not good at all you get one position that you can only see a small part of the childs bed unless you move it far far away in which case you can barely see the child also you cant hear them at all on that thing unless they are yelling.

Not what I expected.

I had a Summer Best View monitor for about 3 years before if finally went out. When I decided to go with this one due to the price, I was a bit disappointed. When it says the lens is adjustable it means that you can manually move it up or down. It does not zoom or adjust from the base like the Summer did. I had to place it about six feet above my sons crib to be able to view his whole bed instead. With this, I couldn't really see his face in detail to tell if he was awake, spit up, etc. Also, the picture during the day is very clear. But once the night view comes on, it is very grainy and hard to make out. Additionally, the battery is terrible. With my Summer I could leave it in sleep mode all night just fine. But this one died half was through the night repeatedly. I had to keep it on the charger in order for it to stay on during the night. Also, when the battery is very low and you plug the charger in it beeps REALLY loud until you turn it off and give the battery time to charge up a little. That doesn't make much sense to me. It does have the lullaby feature, though along with the intercom talking and temperature control. I got it on sale for $99 however, I see that the original price is $140. That is far too much for this product when you can get an excellent monitor for $30 dollars more with the Summer. I have returned this product and purchased an upgraded model to the Summer Best View and am very pleased. I would say you get what you pay for but in this case, I don't think it is worth what it's priced at.

Questionable reception numbers

We recently purchased this on sale, which made it a better value than it's normal pricing. We like the fact that you can remotely play music, turn on a night light, and speak with your child, all through the receiver.
There are two main issues we have with the system though. The unit advertises a 500 foot reception range for the receiver. In smaller print it mentions the optimum range is 150 feet, when transmitting through walls and floors. First of all, I would think that in 99% of all situations the unit would need to transmit through walls and or floors. Who monitors their child from 500 feet away, in an area with an unobstructed view? In my opinion (yes, I know it's just my opinion), the unit should advertise something closer to a 150 range of operation. Even considering that, in our situation the receiver is most often under 100 feet away from the camera, and is one floor down, with two walls between, and yet the receiver continuously goes from having audio and video to being blank, beeping, and signaling that it is out of range. We have had two other monitors (one audio and one video), and neither gave us any problem with reception, even at longer distances.
The second issue is with the inability to turn the video picture on the receiver off. Our past monitor had a button on top, which would allow us to easily turn the picture on and off. This serves to not only conserve battery life, but also means that we're not trying to go to sleep with bright light coming from the screen, lighting up our room. I'm guessing that the "VOX" setting is Levana's answer to this. Turn on VOX, and the receivers audio and video will only kick on when the camera senses noise. The problem is, we are unable to adjust it enough that this works properly. Either the receiver is on continuously, or is cutting in and out with every little noise, such as the AC/heat kicking in, cars going by, etc...
I wish his unit would have worked out, as we like the other features. With a few changes we would consider it again.

This purchase has been efficient for the price point. The advertisement shows more of a color picture, which is only true in strong light. The night vision techology could be stronger, but you do get a clear picture.

My wife and I were looking to replace our old baby TV monitor and audio monitor. Both went out. We came across the Levana Safe N' See monitor on Walmart's website and absolutely loved the features of the monitor. We couldn't complain about the price either since it was reduced significantly, which was comparable to other monitors of the same quality or price range. Set up is simple and uncomplicated. Using the monitor is so easy and convenient. When our youngest son is asleep in his crib, my wife will take the monitor screen with her wherever she is in the house, which is something we couldn't do before. Even though my wife still occasionally checks on our kids from the door entry of their room, she does it a lot less often than before we bought the new monitor. We believe there is no better monitor for the price.

I knew that I wanted to get a monitor with the video feature because I found these very helpful when I was watching other people's children. I looked at so many different monitors, and this one really stood out to me. Most of the video monitors are 100 or more, and do not have all of the features this one does. I love the talk-to-baby intercom, and the fact that I can control the night light and lullabies from my room with my monitor. I also love the temperature feature. The VOX is probably one of my favorite things about this monitor. It allows me to save battery power while baby is sleeping, and I can change the setting for when it turns on. This was probably one of my favorite purchases. My daughter is not here yet, but I know I will be using this daily.

Even after charging the monitor for 24 hours before using, the red light indicating it wasn't fully charged never went to green. After using it, I've found it never goes to green for more than a few seconds. The OUT OF RANGE beep keeps going off and on randomly even though the monitor is stationary. Since there is no way to turn off the OUT OF RANGE beep, it wakes me up for no reason several times a night. There is no longer 24/7 customer service so Walmart should remove it from the product description. On weekends the phone message says to call during the week. During the week, it tells you they are busy and to go online - then they hang up on you! The live chat person told me how to connect more monitors (which was useless information) then ended the chat. I never have received any response to my emails asking for help. The monitor had a large, clear (albeit jerky) picture and the rollback price under a hundred bucks originally had me ready to give it a 5 star review if I exchanged it for another monitor that worked properly. However the lack of customer support has led me to simply return it and purchase another brand.

I have a son with severe asthma and my regular baby monitor quit working so I bought this.
Love it. I can see him. hear every breathe and there is no feedback to keep me up all night. Plus I can talk to him if need be. I am so glad I purchased this. Now I don't know why I waited so long to go with video.

We purchased this item to monitor an elderly parent at night so that we can help him when he tries to get out of bed. The previous unit had functioned well, but was worn out. The audio function works, but is not as adjustable as our previous brand and seems to be variable even when the setting isn't adjusted. The night vision feature works very poorly. With the camera about 10 feet awayfrom him, he is not visible at all to us. Between the poor sound and not being able to see him (even with night lights on), we have no way to know when he is trying to get up. We are returning this and will try to find another brand that can offer the functionality that we need.
