Having needed and used a heating pad for most of my life (sinus problems and mainly severe migraine headaches) I have worn out many a heating pad. I can honestly say that Sunbeam makes a quality product that lasts a LONG time and won't cost an arm and a leg! This model is the first and only time that it comes with the "moist heat" feature. I love the 3 heat settings, although I have to use the hottest one, it's nice to have lower settings. Highly recommend!

Great heating pad...I brought it because I have a compressed fracture in my back..and heat relief helps me relax my muscles instead of using med's to provide relief....it heats right up.

Appears well made. Cord length is generous. Switch feels sound. There is no auto turn-off, which is one feature I did not want. This is an inexpensive heating pad but does not appear cheaply made.

Very disappointed with this heating pad!I have had the smaller gray heating pad by Sunbeam almost two years and love it! I ordered this King Size one because I have Fibrous and the heat makes it feel better until my surgery.I have back injury from work and wanted to have a longer pad for my back.This King size pad takes too long to heat,and the smell is awful! It smells like plastic.The smell gets on your hands and clothes.I have had it for about a week and hoping the disgusting smell goes away. I would recommend the sunbeam heating pad the gray one but not this one. I brought this from Amazon.I love Amazon and Walmart but not this .

Since I have had many heating pads in my life, I was somewhat aware of what I was going to be getting, when I ordered the Sunbeam heating pad. I didn't need anything fancy (like an extra large one, etc.). I just needed a heating pad that had 3 settings (low, medium and high), and was a good price. The Sunbeam Vinyl Heating pad met all of my needs. One thing that I was surprised about is that is actually was larger then most heating pads in it's price range. It comes with a washable cover, and a spongy pad on one side (inside) of the heating pad (that is the side I use when I use it). I bought this heating pad for my back. I needed one that I could use while laying on the couch, as well as sitting on the couch. So, that meant, it had to be flexible, as well. I use this heating pad on the medium, then down to the low setting 95% of the time. Once my back feels better I can turn it down to low, and it keeps enough heat on my back to keep it comfortable, but not too hot, so that I am uncomfortable. And when my back is hurting extra bad, I will use the high setting on the heating pad, but only for about 10mins, b/c it is hot, but not scalding hot. It is too hot to have on your back for a long period of time (I am assuming for most people). The only thing that I wished this heating pad had is an automatic shut off. I could have paid a little bit more for the same kind of heating pad, with an automatic shut off, but since I have it on low, most of the time, after my back feels better, I am not afraid to fall asleep with it on for an hour or so, on the couch (I do not worry about it burning my back, or starting a fire, etc.). If you are looking for a good quality, basic, and sort of "larger then most heating pads in it's price range", this is a great heating pad for you. As long as I treat this heating pad with care, I plan on having it for at least a year or longer (I use it every day). So, to me, the price is worth it lasting a year. It is made well, and also has a long cord. I would recommend it to a friend.

I choice this one after having purchased a more expensive hot pad that barely got hot. This one met what the reviews said. It does get hotter then the expensive one, and at first it did have an odor to it, which is now gone. Also you can leave it on as it has no 2 hour turn off. The pad is working well for us.

I actually got this for our cat, who usually sleeps in our bed with us. Not just in the bed, but either on you or right up against you. She got a little too comfortable & needy about the body heat & this item became a perfect replacement.

This heating pad is exactly what I wanted. I know it's described as "auto shut off" but as other comments will tell you, it does not actually do that. It has three settings - low, med, & high - but I've only had to put it on medium once or twice. Low is the perfect amount of heat. I think it's much more efficient than an old similar heating pad I replaced. Low heat on this equals medium heat on the old one.
One downside is it includes a small foam pad on the inside of the cover. It's comfy so I've left it in there, but it's not attached to anything so it moves around & wrinkles rather easily if you aren't careful. Also, the one snap doesn't keep the cover in place as well as I'd like. But these are very minor complaints! I would buy it again, especially instead of spending way more on other products that do the exact same thing.

This is a no-brainer for everyone who is looking for a good old fashioned heating pad. It is well made, economical, simple to use, and does not come with an encyclopedia of "warnings." I commend Sunbeam for making this awesome heating pad. Although I bought if specifically for beneath my cat's sleeping pad (because it does not turn off automatically), I would use it myself every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

This is working very well for us. The heat control is fine but we use it mainly on high, occasionally medium. This was about the only one that did NOT turn off automatically which is what we want, if you need it on for quite awhile you don't want to have to keep turning it back on. The size isn't too large which is helpful if you need it to target one smaller specific area. We bought two so if a larger area needs coverage we use two at a time.
