The glitches I had with this phone made it almost impossible to use. It would randomly shut itself off and get stuck in what is called a reboot loop. I thought it could be the battery but wasn't. After AT&T sent me the third replacement for this phone and all the replacements had the same problem I gave up and got a new phone. Not worth the headache.

To be frank it’s my first android phone and I used it to the core and still I am using it and phone is without any flaws. Couple of same model phones too I gave gifted, no complaints from anyone and its cheaper and real worth!

Only con found so far is that the phone has very small internal memory, which limits the apps you can install....... constantly get the low on memory warning and have to delete apps.......

Read all the reviews and thought this phone would be simple to use. So I ordered it. Never could get the voice messaging to work.Took some pictures with the camera, they came out grainy. The keys on the touch screen for texting are to close togeather, keep hitting the wrong key. The ringtone on the phone is loud enough, but had trouble hearing the person on the other end even with the sound turned up all the way. Took the phone back to the store and got my money back. For the price I think you can find a better phone than this.

I brought this phone 3 months before. Initially it was good. Now i got a problem. When i try to use camera or photo gallery it says "Please insert an SD card before using the camera". I don't have saved photos in the phone. So it should not be problem of memory space. Other things is good. I am thinking to return back.

I've had this phone for about 6 months now and use it on the Straight talk plan. At first I thought it was good, but after trying some other phones out there like the Straight Talk Samsung Galaxy Proclaim, I don't recommend the Avail anymore. It is a solidly built phone, but it lacks both processing power and internal memory. It has a 600 mhz processor compared to other phones with 1ghz out there, and that means it is not very responsive and loads apps slowly. Its relatively little internal memory is hogged by all sorts of ATT and Android bloatware, which naturally cannot be deleted. I only have added around 5 apps to it (including Google Maps, Translate, etc) and cannot add anymore. If you get this phone don't even think about installing a bunch of games on it. It will be too laggy, and you won't be able to get very many installed. Also, on occasion the phone for some reason "dies" while in idle sleep mode. When this happens, you are effectively in communicado; no one can call or text you. You'll only realize it when you try to wake the phone and discover it won't come on. It only takes powering on the phone again, but this is a huge problem if you need to be reachable at all times.
I don't recommend this phone at all; there are better ones out there for there not much more money.

No problems yet with the phone, however at&t did force a data plan onto my account for me once they detected the phone, even though I don't use the phone for internet, etc. Recommend using the keyboard with the phone horizontally, the letters are bigger. Nice phone for the money so far, but I have only had it for about a month.

Yes it is a smartphone, but it's lacking lots of features and options that my ATT Fusion has even though they're both running Android 2.3 It's very easy to use if it's your first smartphone but if your experienced with smartphones it's a little bit aggravating

This phone is great for me! I'm a homemaker and use my land line for most calls. But even if you plan to use yours more than that, just get the $50/month plan. It includes calls and texts but data(internet) is separate. If you're not concerned with being on the internet while you're out don't worry about it. You can use the phone on your wifi at home for free.
I tried downloading some games and the phone said I was running low on space (with a 2GB memory card that came with the phone). I cleared my browsing history and the message went away. I live in a rural area and when I had Metro PCS I couldn't get a signal at home and certain parts of my neighborhood. AT&T is no problem! Great signal, no dropped calls. It's a good phone.

I've owned this phone for almost a year now and I can say that the first couple of months of owning this phone are pretty good, the phone works great AT FIRST. The phone memory is terrible. I use Pandora, Facebook and text messaging a lot and none of those work well and I CANNOT UPDATE MY APPS!!! There isn't sufficient phone memory to update Facebook, you can however update apps that allow SD storing and a lot of apps (such as Facebook) do not allow you to store memory in SD. When your phone's memory gets full your phone gets very slow. I have to always delete text messages (memory problem). I can't play any games on this phone because they lag terribly (even when I first got it). And people who like music, don't plan on using headphones. Music sounds distorted when using headphones (my Nexus 7 and iPod sound way better with the same headphones using Pandora).

I would not recommend this phone because AT&T no longer offers this phone. There are no accessories for this phone, AT&T no longer stocks them. The phone works fine, but if I had known that AT&T had dropped this phone, I would not have purchased it.

My son wanted a better phone that he could keep up with his friends phones capabilities. We did not a bigger monthly payment than what we currently have, so this phone and the much smaller payment is just the thing for him.Besides that, he is happy with it. That's all that matters to me.

EVERY TWO TO THREE MTHS THIS PHONE BREAKS AND ATT SENDS ME A NEW ONE.DOOOO NOOOT DOWNLOAD THE FIRMWARE UPDATES ON THESE PHONES IT KILLS THEM INSTANTLY. BUY AN BIGGER GB MEM CARD. OTHER THAN THAT THE PHONE WORKS BEUTIFULLY BUT EXPECT TO HAVE ATT SEND U A REPLACEMENT EVERY FEW MTHS.ITS TO THE POINT NOW I CAN RECITE ATT'S SCRIPT TO THEM AND GET TO THE WARRANTY DEPT IN 20 MIN. If you don't need all the bells and whistle the high end phones have like flash for the camera and maybe all the apps; this is a great phone. I went from one of the early smart phones (Samsung Instinct) years ago back to a simple folding flip phone which works fine but when I saw this phone that I could use with my pay as I go minutes and even get some data time if I wanted it; I new it was time to give another smart phone a try even knowing it is at the lower mid-range of smart phones.
I find it to be much faster than my first one, more intuitive and just feels better in my hand. So, so far so good, and I hope to remember to come back in a couple of months to get the same report after I've gotten to know it even better.

The price is GREAT on this phone but I haven't been happy with the phone since I got it. Volume level is really low on it, it was hard to get to sync with my car and I tried to download the new software for the phone. It got as high as 50% downloaded after 3 attempts and now it doesn't seem to have the settings button on the main screen, or more than half the app buttons actually. I thought maybe turning it off might fix it, well, major mistake, now the phone just keeps rebooting and never completes. Also for an Android phone the internal storage on the phone is very low, when I tried to get it application updates to go to the card I bought and inserted there's no way to make it update to there. Very unhappy with this phone.

The AT&T Z990 Avail has all the features of a contract telephone without the contract expense. It uses the Android OS, and is the latest Gingerbread 2.3.4. Very easy to operate/navigate. I live in a very rural area, but so far I have had great luck getting a signal wherever I am. With the 3.5 in. touchscreen display and the 5MP camera, it takes beautiful pics. Haven't tried the video yet. So far, there is nothing I have found to dislike about it. Am very pleased.
