Great Phone considering its pre-paid

I have had this phone for a long time now. I just read all the other reviews and I have to say I don't agree at all. Yes, its a bit pricey for the phone itself, BUT you cant beat 45$ a month for unlimited everything. My signal is exceptionally good and I hardly ever have a call dropped. Yes, the memory is kind of small but if you get a memory card AND you know how to use it, you shouldn't have a problem unless you have a ridiculous amount of apps or music or pictures or videos. All in all, I have to say I am 100% and then some HAPPY with this phone even to the point that I need a new phone but don't want to change the phone I have. haha.

Stay away from straight talk.

We actually bought two of these. Mine was fine....my wife's had a defective speaker and was unusable. We finally found a Wal Mart that would work with us to return the bad phone but then Straight Talk wouldn't change our number to the replacement and would not allow us to have the plan minutes changed to the new unit. We ended up having to cancel the return of the bad phone and hold onto it while we BOUGHT ANOTHER PHONE so that we could get on the phone to India or Bangladesh or some other ends of the earth place in order to beg them to change our plan to the new phone. We bought these units because we wanted to lower our rates and have data plans and Verizon didn't have a cheap plan. For the 10 years we had Verizon we never had one second's worth of trouble and we both wish that we had stayed with them.

Love this phone! it was the first phone i ever owned. bought it when it was still 180$ and i think it was worth it! i had it for a long time! very durable!! sometimes it would randomly restart but it is worth every penny. make sure to treat the battery right. i literally tore it apart when i got a new phone and it still worked while it two pieces!! COULD NOT BREAK IT!! also got submerged in water numerous times.
=) amazing mid level smart phone! keyboard is amazing to! after i got a new phone, the LG Huawei, I couldn't stand not having the Optimus Q. so here i am buying my second one =) and i still say worth every penny!

It worked for three months

I have taken good care of the phone and it's worthless at this point. During almost every phone call I can't hear who I am talking to and they can't hear me. I have to push the button at the top several times per call to start hearing again. Sometimes if I put it on speaker phone it works better but it still happens. The memory card that came with the phone is so small it fills up quickly and your voicemail won't come in. There is no message telling you this. I'm hopeful I can exchange it for my old fashioned flip phone style that I can actually text correctly with. Very disappointing!

Poor Battery Life & No Extended Battery Available

I like the phone and features but my biggest complaints are the poor battery life. I have a battery saver app installed, barely use my phone and still charge it two or three times per day.
My next biggest complaint is there are no extended batteries or any accessories currently available for this phone. I call StraightTalk customer service and couldn't understand the guy with the thick arabic accent, called back and was told that they did not know if accessories would ever be available for this phone. I called LG and they do not offer a battery for this phone, I was told that StraightTalk/AKA TracFone is the only company that can possibly offer an extended battery or accessories for this phone.
I have only been a StraightTalk customer for a few weeks and thinking it might be time to find another carrier.

Only lasted a year

I bought this phone in February 2012 and had been very pleased with it until a few months ago. It worked fine at first and did everything I wanted it to, but about 6 months ago the camera started acting up. I would take a picture and the phone wouldn't automatically save it like it was supposed to. Or it would save it but I wouldn't be able to view the picture later. The same with the videos, I would make a video and only be able to watch half of it later. Then the music player started messing up. I would begin listening to a song only to have it stop playing and go back to the beginning of the song. Also the music player would have to force close a lot or just not work at all. The last problem I had was the wifi stopped working sometimes for no reason at all. One day when I needed to use the wifi it wouldn't connect (even though I was sitting right beside my router) so I turned the phone off and tried to turn it back on but it would not go past the blue tracfone screen. I couldn't even get it to turn back off so I had to remove the battery and try again. It never went past the blue screen no matter what I did. Straight Talk would do nothing to help because it had been more than a year since I'd bought it, but luckily I bought the 18 month replacement plan from walmart. I would say I probably just got a faulty one and the rest probably work great, but my sister, brother-in-law, and husband all have the same phone and all had the same problems. I would expect a phone I paid so much for to last longer than a year. I like Straight Talk because the service is so cheap, but all the good phones are so expensive and that's where they make their money. So if I have to pay $100+ for old-model smart phones I want them to last. And I will never buy an electronic item from WM without the replacement plan.

Internal Memory?

This phone is horrible! Yeah, it works ok if you don't want to download any apps. But if you do want apps, you can forget it! The internal memory is awful! It doesn't take long before you have to start deleting stuff just so you can send a text message! I love Android phones, so this one was a huge disappointment for me!

I was hesitant when I bought this phone but I am so happy with it. It is so easy to work. My last phone (Samsung Gem) was a disaster from the start but this one is a real "gem". The camera is average but I don't expect perfection. I get Verizon from where I live and get great service. The battery normally lasts three days as long as I stay in my area, two if I go out of town. The one thing I love is I can put my sons' and husband's picture on the face page and it dials their numbers instantly when I touch them. I love it so much, I keep ordering different cases to decorate it with.

Repeat buyer of this phone

For the price, this phone is awesome. I highly recommend it especially for people that have trouble using the touchscreen keyboard! I have neuropathy in my fingers, so using a touch screen to text is out of the question. It seems that slide qwerty keyboards on touch screen phones are a dying breed, so this phone is the only one I have purchased (and repurchased) with confidence! The camera does not have a flash, but overall takes pretty good pictures. Also, video record is ok. I love Android and being able to sync to my google accounts. The sound quality on the phone is pretty loud as well, making the Spotify app I subscribe to worth the money. I could go on and on about all the great assets of this phone, but it is listed in the product description. The only thing I don't like about the phone is the limited amount of memory. Even with a 16g sdcard, I am limited as to how many apps I can download. This isn't that big of an issue because I have a laptop and tablet. Most people nowadays do. I do have facebook, gmail, google chrome, Spotify (which is a pretty big app), weatherbug, AVG, and android assistant. All the above does take up a lot of space, but it fits my preferences just fine.
Here is a great tip that I have learned since I started using StraightTalk through Walmart. It explains why I say I am a repeat buyer of the phone! Always buy the phone through Walmart or Walmart.com and purchase the replacement plan. It's worth the $9 or so! Since I am accident prone, dropping things all the time, I always buy the plan. Once I've managed to bash it up enough, I call the excellent walmart replacement plan service line. Every rep I've ever talked to is so nice and their first language is English :)! (I never call straight talk!) They send an email with a label for shipping via UPS. Before I ship the phone out, I go ahead and purchase another Optimus Q plus service plan and turn it on using the straight talk website. This way I am never without a phone. Once I send the phone to them, it takes about 7-14 business days to get the check in the mail. Pretty cool! I am about to purchase my 3rd Optimus Q. I sure hope they never discontinue it!!!

Almost a year later - regretting the purchase

This phone was great when I first got it, but over the past few months it has been randomly shutting off and I cannot turn it back on without removing the battery and putting it back in. When I try to turn it off it just restarts itself instead of staying off - it's like it only shuts off when it wants too. It has been getting worse with each day. Shutting off multiple times a day etc. In 3 months I will have officially bought this one year ago and now am reading others are having the same problem. If you want a phone to last longer than 6-7 months, check into others!

THE WORST AND MOST EXPENSIVE PHONE I EVER OWNED. I HAD BETTER CALL QUALITY AND SIGNAL STRENGTH WITH EVERY OTHER PHONE I HAVE EVER HAD, EVEN FREE ONES. THE PHONE LOCKS UP ALL THE TIME. THE ONLY TIME I CAN MAKE A CALL IS WHEN I AM PARKED UNDER A CELLPHONE TOWER. I CAN'T WAIT TO GET RID OF IT.

I only started using my new phone and this is my first Android, so I'm still trying to figure everything out, but it seems to be fairly easy to navigate. The only thing I can't seem to figure out is how to upload tones for notifications and I can barely hear the ones that are pre-loaded. I'm positive I'll figure it out soon enough.

My first android and have had it about a month. I think I suffer from fat finger disorder so I had to get something with a slider keyboard as well. the keys are hard plastic which tends to cause your fingers to slip a little and the E & O keys lettering is already scratching off. If you play any games or even during charging you'll notice that the phone will get hot very quickly. most days I have to charge it atleast 2 times (Yes, I did follow the instructions on initial battery charging). As to not completely suck up battery power you have to stop everything from running when not in use and also turn the screen brightness down as low as possible... if you go outside and try to look at your screen with it turned down low, you will not be able to see it and then have to turn the brightness up to use it sucking up even more power. Im sorry I listened to the person i got a recommendation from as now Im finding out they had the same issues with this phone.

I love LG phones...this one is knock-off in my opinion.. No remiders other than intiail response, small dot on screen says if u have missed call or messages, I cant tell you how many times i have to now look at phone as it wont ever beep/remind as there is no feature to do so unless its on initial call/message. Sprint service in my area isnt working so well.. I have arssed called so many people..I just cant get used to it...Touch screen is not for me...and i can see why people would have accidents if attempting to even drive and call on this phone..I tried once and was all over road, took me 6 times to actually get correct #s typed so call could go through... Overall good phone for a idle person, but if on the go..this phone fails (me)... I had an LG envy before, I dont see anything like that phone, and am saddened I cant keep her on a pay as you go plan comparable to straight talk...

Bad service

I purchased this phone online after putting my zip code in the check coverage area. It said it would work in my area. Then, when I got it home, it wouldn't work. It ran off of Sprint towers and I needed one that ran off of verizon towers. So, I ended up having to take it back to the store and spending more money on a model that DID work in my area. I was very disappointed and think that I should be reimbursed the money that I was out for the more expensive phone if not given something in return for the two days I was without a phone.
