The Backyard Grill 18" Square Charcoal Grill opens up your outdoor BBQ options with simple, clean design and a spacious cooking surface. This easy-to-use charcoal grill will fit right in to your backyard space or outdoor entertainment area. Air vents on lid and bowl help control the flow of barbeque smoke, and the addition of plastic wheels enables easy transport. This square charcoal grill also has a bottom storage shelf for easy access to charcoal and other items.
OK, this is not a super-sturdy Weber kettle grill. But if you just want something to grill hamburgers and hotdogs and are on a budget, this is perfect. Pretty easy to put together. All the parts are clearly marked and fit. It has a lid lock which is good for when the cooking is done but the coals are still hot. Keeps kids out and avoids spills if it gets knocked over. Good for grilling for up to four, or two if grilling large steaks.

Review 8 for Backyard Grill 18" Charcoal Grill
Great quality for the price!

I was surprised by the quality of this grill for $20 (actually, it was $19.97 at my local Wal-Mart). It's small, but you could still easily fit enough food on it to serve four or five people if you had to really squeeze it all on. The construction is better than expected. I've had grills in this price range in the past and all of them lasted for several seasons until they befell some unforeseen tragedy (like a wind storm that picked them up & threw them across the yard). I would guess that even if you leave your grill outside all year without a cover (like I do), you should see three or four seasons out of this before it's time to send it to the scrap heap. For $20, that's a good bargain.
Setup was easy, only took a few minutes. The grill was packaged well so there was no damage upon receipt. All the parts were there, including a screw driver & wrench in the parts kit, so no tools required.
This grill doesn't have a charcoal tray like most grills this size have (just a small grid that goes on the bottom of the grill), so be prepared to clean up ashes between uses. I would recommend getting a small brush from the dollar store ... the grill is so small / light weight you could easily just tip it over & brush the ashes out once cooled.

I bought this pit last year. It performed well. We usually are cooking for around 6, so it is a good size. Because it is not large, it doesn't waste charcoal. I lent ours to a friend a couple of months ago, and when it didn't come back, I ordered another one.

It was smaller than I expected. I really did not need a big grill the area is to small. It was easy to put together. I will use it on Easter having a cook out..

Even for $20 I would expect more. Don't dare waste your money on this. Pieces don't fit together well. Whole thing shakes. Worthless. Terrible.

It cooks but you have to be fast, it may be the charcoal I used but stayed heated for just barely long enough to cook my food, but it did cook it so well done.

company should not adhesive stick the large label to the lid. Best way to buy at walmart, online and direct pickup without going through there lines in the front of the store.

Review 18 for Backyard Grill 18" Charcoal Grill
Bad Grill

I bought this grill and hated it. I took it back and bought a Weber. Meet cooks in half the time and maintains its true charcoal flavor that was getting lost with the backyard grill. Weber is the best for the money. Any Weber will do opposed to this grill.

Even though we have a large gas grill, there are some things that are better cooked with charcoal. We didn't want anything expensive or too big so this is perfect!

Nice for price

Easy to follow assembly instructions...took about an hour. Good size for 1 or 2 people. I like that it has legs instead of sitting on the ground like most grills this size & price do. Maintains heat well. Don't expect it to last forever, but for the price it doesn't have to.
