I suppose this would work if you needed to wash your shoes, but I have not used it for this purpose. I bought it to dry our shoes. The straps are far too short to reach around the door, which normally would make it useless for drying. I have hook and loop (velcro) so I could add length to the straps, but the shoes inside still have the clothes whipping around and around so the straps come loose and pull into the dryer. It is not effective for drying shoes, not even small shoes.
This product would have been far more useful if the straps could be adjusted, as it is the straps might be long enough for a very small or stackable type washer/dryer.
