Junk Junk Junk. Buy a Roku. Got two for christmas, one broke within 48 hrs. Returned and got another. Now, 6 weeks later, both dont work.

Takes forever to change to the next option, freezes quite frequently, and often doesn't want to connect to available titles. It works, but only sometimes. Would not recommend and we'll probably be taking it back. Very disappointed after only a couple days.

The main unit of the player generally worked well, but the remote made it very frustrating to use. The remote needed a new battery right out of the box and, as other reviews have stated, a command needs to be pressed three or four times to engage. Sometimes it didn't engage at all. It doesn't really matter how close or far you are from the main unit, the performance of the remote is extremely inconsistent and frustrating. I returned the unit (you have 90 days to return) and purchased the "Magnavox HD Streaming Video Player, TB600MG2F" instead. The two players price points are very similar and the user interface is almost exactly the same. If you go into the "VUDU Apps" you can find all the extra Apps that are on the RCA unit as well: Facebook, YouTube, and more. But you must press on that App (VUDU Apps) to find them. In comparison to the RCA unit, the Magnavox is much more substantial (tiny bit larger, better built) and the remote WORKS. I forgot how effortless it should be to use a remote. The RCA unit would get pretty hot when it was in use, the Magnavox does not. In the end, I only spent $1 more to return the RCA and purchase the Magnavox. I had to purchase it online though because our stores nearby did not have any. I am satisfied with my purchase.

I'm not sure why so many people had problems. This worked perfectly and only took about 3 mins for us non-techie people to hook up. It immediately recognized Netflix and streamed it without ONE single buffer. You have to put in a passcode online but that's it. We have time-warner. The remote is a little small but unless you let kids play with it it will be fine. I bought 3 more of these for family members. The quality is as good as watching any DVD you buy. Hook up the cable, switch "input" on your TV, get the code put it in and your all done. Three minutes max. My niece does have satellite internet and she said it was a bit slow with buffering but other than that works perfectly. Oh yeah 2 of us use this product every single day for over 3 months with absolutely NO issues.

problems with HuluPlus

I can stream Netflix great, but HuluPlus has problems loading, even after making adjustments in streaming and deleting and re adding the RCA device..several times. After watching for a few hours, it over heats and cuts off. I'm taking this back and getting a Roku and trying it out to see if I have the same problems.

I'm completely dissatisfied with this product. The only plus is it's cheap but I wish I had spent a few more bucks to buy one that works. The remote takes several inputs of each key to make a selection and most of the time it won't work at all.. Walmart should pull this media player off of the shelves.

This was my Christmas present. Huge disappointment from RCA. The app YouTube is very frustrating to operate. The remote sensor and remote does not work well together. Over all huge thumbs down. I'm very Internet savvy, but this is frustrating to operate. A Cheap try at apple tv.

I had a short run with this product. Received on Christmas and used daily until today.
Set up was simple and quick. Easily entered wifi password with no problems and nice strong connection from across the house. The picture quality was consistently HD and never has buffering problems. The unit itself worked well with all services included.
The unforgivable problem with this product is the remote. It is far to finicky with a very narrow range of use. You must be directly in front of the infrared senator, which its partially hidden behind a plastic grat and no more than 7-8 feet away. There is a return button, a home button, and aa stop button, skill of which take you back to the home screen. The play/ pause button has about a 5 second delay. Overall I would rate this remote in the negative.
There appears to be a technical issue with the remote itself. It has stopped working like many others have said. This is not a battery issue or a problem with the unit. There is an issue with the signal coming from the remote.

For it's price it's ok. Had to buy new batteries. And we can't get the remote to work right. Have to stand no more than 4 to 5 feet away from the box to get the box to pick up the remote signal. Even then we still have to push the button a few times extra to get it to work right. The video quality is great though.

I bought it for my brother and I regret ever buying it! I am going to return it for A bluray player with built in wifi because this thing uses up to much internet. I have the highest dsl speed with verizon and i have a ps3 a computer 2 laptops an ipad a wii and my phones connected to my wifi and everything works perfectly fine, but when my brother turns on his rca media player no one can use the internet because it wont let us and to make it worse the media player barely gets signal where hes at and when he use to use my wii he would get full signal in his room. i recommend paying a little more for a better product.

Device would not accept my pass word even though it was confirmed correct , finaly reset router and it accepted it for a while. Next day it was the same thing would not accept pass word even after many attempts and resetting the router made no difference, I called RCA and got no help what so ever. So after many hr's of frustration I returned the device to Wal Mart and got my money back, also the remote is so tiny and cheap it is very hard to work with. Would not recomend this device.

I got it setup, which was easy. I was able to connect to Netflix. I started watching a movie. No problems. Then the remote stopped working. New batteries. Got it to turn on, then nothing. Very disappointed. Will exchange and see if the new one does the same thing.

This thing is almost totally useless. Can't stream video without constant rebuffering and the remote doesn't work half the time. Freezes up and has to be restarted all the time. The same video sites play good on my computer. This useless piece of junk gets returned.

While the remote worked, this product was OK (2-3 stars). However, the remote is the worst I've ever used for any device. The batteries don't stay in, it has a range of about 5-10 feet when it does work, and the interface is clunky at best. You can't even turn the device on without the remote, so once the remote stops working, it is a very small paperweight.

Couldn't get anything to work. I have a WIFI Blu ray, WI and PS3 that all work fine. Kept getting connection errors and freezing and the box restarting all by itself. This will be going back. A You tube video loaded itself and worked for about 3 seconds. Got to hear Pandora for about 5 seconds, then unit turned off. Netflix and Hulu wouldn't connect at all. GARBAGE!

The device itself is a great value for the money. It's capable of streaming Netflix, HuluPlus, Vudu, YouTube, Picasa pictures and there's even a way that you can connect to your Facebook account. I do NOT like the remote though. It's very flimsy and hard to get it to control the device. If you can deal with a little remote frustrations, the device will definitely meet your expectations.
