I'll keep this short. This is the best practice ammo you can get hold of for the price. As for what it is, it's bog-standard 9mm Luger. 115gr, full metal jacket. I wouldn't use this as a defense round because of overpenetration issues, but for practice ammo it's hard to beat. It burns clean and I've never had a misfire in the probably 2,000 rounds I've burned through. Here's a tip for you--when the 100rd Value Packs are in stock, buy AS MANY AS YOU CAN. They sell out fast, and they're even cheaper!
Of course at the time of this writing, this stuff is almost impossible to get hold of. So if you see it, get it.

I own a Glock 17 9 mm, and if you own a 9 mm you know how hard it is to find ammo. I call the Walmarts in my area on a daily basis to find this ammo. First, not much dirt, always a plus. Second no miss fires or jams. The only, and I repeat only thing I notice, on a box of 50 I'll get one round that has a mind of it's own on where it goes. I can seriously live with that.

I've put over 900 rounds of this downrange through my Glock 19 and haven't experiences any malfunctions of any sort yet. Only problem is getting your hands on it, the stores in my area never stock enough of it anymore. (I find it odd other reviewers have had issues with it, should have gone Glock.)

I've put nearly 1000 rounds through a Ruger P95 with no issues. Did have some jams early on, but that was strictly due to the gun needing to be cleaned. Great price, but starting to have availability issues at my local Walmart. Stock up if you can find it.

I have used this ammunition in my 3 9 mm pistols and it loads and fires without any problems and is a good load for practice shooting . I do clean the guns after every time I shoot because I do not shoot on a regular basis.
In this current time of a shortage of ammunition (Jan. 2013) is is still available for short period of times from Walmart stores and the price has increased only slightly.

The last reviewer before me (also from Lewisville, TX) stated that 1/2 of his rounds didn't fire. I've gone through 2 boxes of this ammo in my S&W M&P Shield with ZERO problems. Maybe there was a bad batch or he's having issues with his firing pin...but I love this ammo. It does shoot dirty, but it's value ammo. You really can't beat the value, though...$20 for 100 rds of 9mm is a great deal. Now if only they'll get some more in stock...

Half the rounds would not even fire. The ones that did fire jammed in my Beretta. Never had ammo problems before I tried these.

if you are just gonna fire this down range for practice without worrying about how much you are just "shooting" away. Federal works very well with the Ruger sr9c and no misfires or duds through 150 rounds. Just remember to clean he gun after firing, it does leave residue but it fires nicely.

Purchased the 100 round box of 9mm 115gr rounds. I put all of them through my SD9 and not a single problem. Well worth the price. The 100 round box is the best value if you can get it at your store. I will definately continue buying these for the range.

great ammo for the value think its $19.97 for 100 rounds. no misfires and no edject problems. i used the winchester white box and that was the worst mistake i ever made it jammed at least once a clip had edject problems with it but not this ammo and its cheaper and cleaner ammo.

I've had no problems with this brand, I've used it for years with my .22. I recently bought it for my 995FGTS Carbine and it works awesome. Leaves the gun cleaner than other brands, and I've yet to find a dud. Will buy again.

I shot 150 9mm rounds of the Federal Champion in my Ruger P95PR at the range it with no jams, misfeeds. I wish you could buy a bulk instead of boxes it will save you more money and you want have to go to the store as much but overall its a good product for target and pratice shooting. My wife and I enjoy shooting Federal 9mm FMJ (FULL METAL JACKET) rounds.

I have used over 4000 rounds of this 9mm ammunition. We have never had any misfires or mis feed issues. Somewhat dirty, but no big deal.

Purchased two (2) boxes of 50 rounds each of the Federal Champion 9mm FMJ from my local Nashville Walmart and I couldn't be happier!!
Ran one box of 50 through my Taurus PT709 as practice one week before I had to go and qualify for my Tennessee CCW. Not a single problem with the whole box.
The following week I ran the second box through the Glock they had us use to qualify. Again, not a single problem. Plus, I think I really shot the best, tight groups I seem to have ever gotten. To qualify we had to shoot and hit a defined area on the target from 9, 21 and 45 feet.
As I said, I wouldn't use anything else for practicing. I will choose something a little more potent for the Concealed Carry I use for self-defense, but I'll save that one for another review.
