These units are press board with laminate finish and colored cardboard back panel. The are easy to put together, the instructions are good and the packaging is excellent to make sure they arrive without damage to the corners. For the price, they are great for room storage. Note the top shelf is not rated for any weight to be place on it and the other shelves are rated for 50 lbs. You can't beet the price and the cardboard back panel can be decorated before you install for a great accent piece on a budget!

I chose this bookcase because it was nice looking and very affordable. However, after putting it together it appears to lean one side. I followed the assembly instructions exactly, so I think it's a product flaw (I noticed some of the screw holes didn't align perfectly). The company offered to replace parts or said I could return it to the store, but I have no way of taking it back apart unless I destroy it.

I bought 6 of these in white. I have always wanted a wall of bookshelves and now I have them! Super easy to put together. I put all 6 together in about 2 hours. I used a regular screw driver all the pre drilled holes lined up. I did not use the cardboard backing. I went to Home Depot and bought beadboard paneling. I think it looks great. I also used the child safety things and screwed them into the walls...they are VERY flimsy in my opinion...but for the price I would not have had a wall of bookshelves! For me it was great but I would not use these in a small child's room.

I just received my shelf, but can't even put it together because there weren't any screws or hardware whatsoever. Very disappointing. It wasn't an expensive product, but turned out to be a total waste of money.

Delivered right away, but I had to wait for my floors to get done. Open the box today, put all the pieces together with the help of my 94 year old Mom, who greacefully held one side while I put the bottom and the top part together. You do need two people just for the first part of the assembling.
Just finished putting my books up, it looks amazing very sturdy. It is a very good product for the money!!!!!

Clever in design, inexpensive, could be attractive. But the materials (pressed sawdust) are so shoddy that the screws that are supposed to hold the unit together pull out. The back panel is made of cardboard, and does nothing to brace the unit.

DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK! Not even worth one star! This is seriously the absolute WORST product I have ever spent money on. Biggest waste of 30 dollars in my entire life. That is saying something. The ONLY reason I didn't return it to the store is because it would have been even more work to disassemble what I had already assembled, put it back in the box and try to get it back to the store. I guess I should have had lower expectations, being only 30 bucks. Absolute terrible quality, the shelf leans and wont even stand up properly (I had to lean it against a wall upon completion), and all I wanted to do was throw this stupid thing out the window. As if assembling a piece of furniture isn't annoying enough, this particular bookshelf guaranteed that I will never buy another "assembly required" item EVER again, and will never buy ANYTHING made by this company ever again. I wouldn't recommend this product to ANYONE, even if I was being offered a million dollars simply for the recommendation. NEVER. AGAIN.

This is a good book case not super deep and does not take up a lot of room in a small room. We used 4 of these to display our collectibles and they look nice and work well so long as you don't put a bunch of weight on the 3 of the middle shelves.

Bought multiple pieces in espresso finish to line along my walls. They meet nicely in corners and give an overall luxurious feel. Unbelievable price. 9 out of 10 unpacked perfectly with all parts included (one kick plate was snapped). The 9.5" depth affords more floor space and books fit perfectly; just have to be more selective on the storage boxes that I buy. Thanks Walmart, super fast, affordable and makes my budget feel more like a home.

Went together easy. all parts included. I moved it 5 feet from the original location about 10 minutes after I set it up, and the bottom piece broke out. It's particle board. Still functional and servers it's purpose

This was very disappointing and was returned. On this model the top shelf does not cover the sides and the top of the sides are not finished. I will be ordering two of the small three shelf units instead.
