I purchased this phone after reading other reviews. Soon after purchase the phone started freezing up. It almost got me fired. I work in the operating room, so I depend on my phone when I'm on call. So not being able to be reached is not an option! So once again I'm looking for a new phone before I lose my job. Any suggestions?

Display goes out during a call

The smart phone is alot of things, but mainly a phone for me. The display kept going out during a call so I couldnt get through an automated call menu without having to hit the power button to keep it on despite numerous calls to technical help and I sent it in for service for this problem. They wouldnt give me a refund because it was after the 15 day period. I am disgusted with Samsung for not helping on this.
I finally got so disgusted that I bought a different phone--a LG Optimus L9. What a refreshing difference! The screen display stays on much longer and there are many features that are superior to the Samsung. I am delighted and recommend the LG phone.
But my lesson learned, if you are not satisfied with whatever phone you buy, dont wait--just take it back for a refund within 15 days. I was trying to work with customer service but didnt realize that they were just trying to run out the refund warranty period.

I own the Exhibit II and just upgraded to the LG L9.
The Exhibit II is a capable smartphone. Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) is a nice OS. The phone has the features used most often. 4G Phone, text, browser, camera, video, external SD support, bluetooth, wifi. I love that you can add an SD card and replace your battery on the cheap. Apple = evil on both of those counts.
The single 1GHz processor is fine for most tasks. However, the LG L9 is just a little more money, and it gives you a much larger screen, (4.5" vs. 3.7"), more pixels, Gorilla Glass 2, more internal memory, better cameras, a dual-core 1GHz processor, and Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean).
Buy the LG L9 and don't look back. Unless you need a Galaxy SIII or a Nexus 4 for the computing power and ultimate resolution, you will be very happy with the outstanding LG L9 at 1/3 the cost for a no-contract phone.

One of the worst Phones I ever dealt with . Starting off it wasnt so Bad but after a few months, the charging port broke on its on, so I had to purchase an external charger , instead of paying the $200 repair cost. The Phone is also very slow , the apps always close on its own. After that, the phone turns off by itself at least 10 times every 20 minutes. Dont waste your money , yes its cheap but the quality is very horrible.

I enjoy using the microphone to send my text messages. Sometimes the words it prints are so far off of what the word I said that it is funny. I have not had any trouble figuring it out. Very good buy!

Poor Performance

I've had this phone for over one year. The battery life is terrible if your using the internet and it downloads pages slower than you could imagine most of the time. If you are using the internet, expect no more than two hours of use before the battery is drained. Countless times this phones freezes and I have to remove the battery in order to restore it. After using the internet it hangs momentarily before returning to the home page. It's difficult to hear any conversation if there's any background noise and the external speaker isn't loud enough to compensate. As far as the camera is concerned, there is no zoom but that's not a big deal for me. I found the phone fairly easy to use from the start but this phone aggravates me almost ever time I use it. I suggest staying from this phone. By the way, the T-mobile website sells this for $290, NOT A CHANCE.

App Issues, particularly Netflix.

Overall the phone has nice features but be advised the latest version of the Netflix app randomly pauses and often causes a partial restart of the phone disabling the WiFi and leaving the resolution unwatchable until restarted or worse, completely freezes the phone requiring the battery to be removed. I don't think it is the phone itself because the Xfinity TV Player works fine as does YouTube. Also, contrary to the Google Play store, the Hulu app does not support this phone.
What I dislike most about this phone is a lack hands free dialing so don't waste money on Samsung's bluetooth headset's that are supposed to support that feature. Last, you cannot sync the phone with Windows Media player using bluetooth and the Kies Air app intended for syncing files with WiFi is a piece of garbage you can't even uninstall.

This phone has all of the features of the most expensive smart phones at a fraction of the price. It's one of the few 4G-capable phones that can be used with T-Mobile's 4G monthly plans.

This phone is mediocre. It has consistent touch screen failures, meaning that you may touch the screen and get no response. This especially happens when attempting to respond to a text message, but can happen any time you are trying to click something on the bottom of the screen. I thought maybe it was a defect in one particular phone, but when I exchanged it for another of the same model, the same problem happens, and quite frequently. The quality of the materials used to make this phone feels cheap. Really cheap. It makes me wonder why it costs almost $200. It's certainly worth no more than $100. Don't buy it unless you can get it for about that much.
That said, it has some nice features, like a microSD card slot, and... um.... well, i guess that's about it.

Great phone period, I went on a 10 day RV vacation and this phone worked from CO, AZ, CA, NV, UT, IN THE CRAZIEST PLACES ALONG THE WAY, and it never lost the use of calling or the web.
I checked it out next to a Samsung galaxy note, and I don't know what the difference is?

I'm no phone expert, but here you go :)
As far as the phone itself goes:
I have had this phone for about a year, and it has been okay.
I have dropped it numerous amounts of times and it has not cracked or anything until now.
It was about average speed when I first opened it, but after a couple months of use it started to slow down (as expected). Now it takes a pretty good amount of time to switch between applications/screens, to call, to bring up the keyboard, to actually type, to basically do anything.
Picture quality is average. Except it now takes a year to bring up the camera.
Video quality is average.
Call quality was average until about 3 months ago. Now I do not receive all calls, voice mails, and text messages.
I have had this phone for about a year, and it has been okay.

I'm no high-tech person; don't really care for the latest and greatest, but after my last phone died... I needed something quick, reliable and cheap while providing the up-to-date perks. I ended up getting this phone at my local Walmart for around $150 +tax +insurance and I couldn't be more pleased. It is easy to function, has all of the up to date capabilities, has great camera/video options (my favorite thing about that is the video has an automatic light...! Very handy being a mom of a toddler :))... The phone is quick and all functions and apps are practical. The only questionable thing is that the phone automatically restarts itself from time to time, in the sense of often. Nothing is interrupted or lost during this quick process, but very redundant and well, weird. Otherwise, a good buy for your buck... Would definitely recommend to someone who is looking for a simple and quick solution to being phone-less.

It's a GSM phone (takes SIM card) so if you had troubles with reception through T-Mobile or AT&T you still will. Just know what your getting before you purchase. My sister in Law purchaser one.

Great Little 4G Phone

I like this phone because it offers a lot in a small package. It is tough and durable as well. I bought an after market case and a screen protector, both were good things to have and together, they ran me under $10.
I can't say much about how it compares to top line phones like a Samsung 3S or an iPhone 5 but, I do know that it works well for me. I use it like a phone, track 2 email accounts and my work email account and, I regularly use about a dozen apps. I take a few pictures, too.
My previous phone was BB. I see other people who use their phone for almost everything but, I don't do that. I'm sure that this phone would not be adequate for folks who "live on their phone" but, it is great for me.
I do like it because: low cost, high value, very capable
I don't like: Sometimes it seems to need a second to "think" about what it's going to do next.
Problem: I used the SIM card from my old BB on this phone. The SIM expired and the phone quit working. I installed a new SIM and all is well.

I swithced from a Samsung Galaxy Captivate on AT & T to the Samsung Exhibit II Prepaid phone to cut down on monthly costs. I had to step down from a 4" screen to a 3.75" screen and thought that might be a problem but not really at all. I did have to step down from a 5 megapixel camera to a 3 megapixel camera, but this is a phone not a camera so that did not bother me at either. I paid with tx about $32 a month as compared with $77 a month and the plan and the phone fir me much better. Totally happy with the phone's performance and with T-Mobile.
