This unit has exceeded my expectations. I watch netflix with no problems,,Also catch up on the news in the morning and it plays videos on Fox news with great clarity and sound.

I purchased it to use as an electronic catalog. However after using it for a month I find it is fast and dependable. It does emails and really great for presentations. It Goes in place of my note pads with the Swype touch pad app.
One of the other guys bought an iPad2 and after trying this Let Pan he says it is faster than his iPad.
So for me this is a great deal.

There are two types of Lepan Android tablets out there...This one, which is the first and oldest version, and the new one the Lepan II with a tag price of about $269. I had the opportunity of trying out both of these two models......Save your money and buy the first model, the one being sold at Walmart for $129 . For the likes of me, I could not see any valid reasons for paying $140 more for the newest tablet. First of all, bear this in mind when purchasing this android tablet.....
IT IS NOT AN IPAD...Not this one nor the newest model. Once you understand your limitations with this very fine Android Tablet, you will be able to enjoy it to the fullest. Now, I will tell you what I am able to do with my Lepan TC970 2.2 Froyo Os.......Gmail, Yahoo mail, download all kinds of books and magazines, Netflix, PBS, NBC Nightly news, Newsy, CNN, Time magazine, Google Maps and Google Earth, Google Market for APPS, Amazon Kindle Books, Huffington Post, a variety of national and international newspapers, Pandora Radio, Orbitz, Hotels.com, CBC/The National News show from Canada, XE Universal Currency Convertor, The World Clock Time Zones, Radio stations those that have available APPS, and many, many more applications. It will also google by voice recognition and will ring a selected list of rings to let you know when you get mail. There are other TV Stations that I cannot download on this OS, however, I told you that this is not an IPAD where you can do just about anything like a laptop computer. This is not the case with this Android Tablet, but for the price, it truly covers the basics and it will give you many, many hours of nice entertainment. Now, if you do not expect it to be an IPAD, then do not walk, but run to get one of these little jewels......And as I mentioned, save your money and do not buy the newer version, since there is not much difference in what you will get as far as surfing the web and available APPS. I hope that this info helped you decide to go ahead and purchase one of these wonderful Android Tablet 2.2 Froyo OS. And by the way, an overnight charge, will last at least 8 hours. This is a review of the LePan II which is a newer model with android 3.2 and ICS.
***** Final Update 8/09/2012- I shipped my tablet back to LePan. It cost me 18.00 to return on 7/18/12. I received the replacement tablet on 8/07. I up-grade to platform to ICS on 08/08/12. Afterwards I noticed that the tablet would drop the Wi-Fi signal every 10 minutes or so. Honestly I did not play with it long enough before upgrading to ICS to noticed if the problem already existed. Informed Lepan, they sent me a checklist of items to check. None them fixed the issue. I am done. I am going to let my son play with it. Good luck if you make the purchase. Personally, I would get a refurbished Samsung for 299.00 if I could have a do over.

***** Update 7/1/2012- DOS- it would not start-up today. wow...I am so disappointed!!! I should have listened to all of the negative reviews. It appears I have been hood winked :(
****- Update 6/12/2012- A small glitch has developed with the battery charge indicator. It does not reflect the actual state of charge and constantly reads to be at 50%. I have also noticed that when the battery is low the stability of the tablet began to flicker and freeze.
There is an update (firmware?) for the tablet posted at the website. I am going to back up my files onto my micro Sd card and install the update. I will let you know how it works.
I still think this tablet is the best bang for the bucks, and would rate it a 4.5. It really serves me well. I love looking a Netflix on it, reading books (purchased a 7.00 anti-glare screen), and video chatting with the kids.

****** Feb 3, 2012- Just what I needed. I purchased my tablet and received it around the 10th. I decided to wait a little while before making any comment to see if the tablet might produce some glitches after regular use. So far there have been no glitches noticed.
I originally owned the Samsung 7 inch G-tab. The Samsung had all the bells a whistles but the reduced screen size was a major disadvantage for me because I wanted to use my tablet to read from during sermons and speeches. My first experience with the Android tablets revealed that the tablet functions were basically the same as my android cell phone. They basically will not do anymore than your phone is capable of doing (just a larger screen). The tablet really doesn't work well (for me) when trying to produce projects like papers, art, video editing, spread sheets, or Power Points. You can do some manipulations on projects, but nothing serious. The biggest advantage of the tablet for me is portability, screen size verses a phone, gaming, reading, videos, and making presentations. Armed with this knowledge I sat out to find the best tablet for the money.

When unit was working it was great and decent speed. After the 2-4 day it started freezing, I was having to reset it frequently and power button stopped working. Very disappointing being that I was quite pleased when it was working. I returned item with no problems, I'm hoping these glitches will be fixed on next model, I may purchase and give them another chance..

I really love this tablet, however, I have had to reset it too many times because the touch screen hangs up. Going to return this one for another one. Really great tablet when it works as it should, only have had it for about 3 weeks.

Tablet has a great screen and the multi-touch works good. Has decent speed and adequate storage. However none of this does any good because the tablet is constantly crashing and don't count on Le Pan tech support to be of any help. I have swamped mine out four times and the only reason I have the last one running is that I rooted it and installed Android 2.3 firmware from Cryomood 7. The 2.2 firmware that comes on the Le Pan is buggy if you plan to do anything other than surf the net. This tablet started out at 199.00 but has dropped to 129.00 because it is a piece of junk. It will work fine when you first get it but beware if you put several apps on there, even though it has the memory to hold them it will crash sooner or latter. My suggestion spend 20 more and get the Acer tab it may be 7 in. but it is a much better and faster tablet. I wished I would have bought mine here so I could have returned it and got the Acer but I didn't.

The screen size is nice. wifi worked, and it can run many apps, but it cant run all of them. That is not a defect. Some apps are not meant to be on a tablet, therefore there is no update for them(yet). The processor is sluggish, but will do just fine if you dont try to run intense apps or too many apps. I took it back mainly because it does not play flash video well. Youtube app works great but I am talking about catching a missed episode of a show or something. All to find out that this kind of activity is not meant for tablets. This was my first tablet. One thing to remember, if there is not app for what you are trying to do, then it probably wont work too well on a tablet. For example, the youtube app works great but if you use the browser to go youtube, then it runs sluggish. Another reason why this tablet is not one of the best on the line is because the OS is Froyo. Dont get me wrong it will work, but you want the full tablet experience, then go for Ice cream sandwich or jelly bean. Froyo was made to work on phones so running on a tablet, it will try to act as a phone. I got the tablet because I wanted a ereader and it did just fine with that, but the flash was the problem. I would not buy a child a iPad. I would buy this tablet because it will fit their every need if they really need a tablet.
