Boss Audio Boss AR1200.2 2-Channel Mosfet Amplifier

With a slimmer chassis, the Boss AR1200.2 ARMOR 2-Channel 1200-Watt MOSFET Amplifier is the perfect choice when space is limited, and power is required. So, you no longer have to forfeit performance for convenience. This stereo power amplifier includes a remote subwoofer level control and two-channel MOSFET bridgeable power amplifier to offer maximum bridged power. Indeed, this combination of feature-rich performance and put-it-anywhere design is hard to find in the automotive environment.

I love BOSS audio brand. This amp is small in size but puts out every bit of 600 watts a side. Do not let this amp fool you, it sounds great and it will push anything you ask it to.

Marketed to people with no knowledge of car audio.

A huge problem with "affordable" car audio amplifiers is misrepresentation of the true wattage. This amplifier says 1200 watts on the box. With most manufacturers, this would mean 1200 watts max "peak power" Which means nothing. When I opened the manual, saw the true wattage number. 230 watts rms x2 channels at 4ohms. I just so happen to own a DeAmore sound engineering amplifier Dynamometer, and my own car audio installation/customization shop. In other words, I'm a car audio professional who takes his job seriously. Testing this amplifier at 4 ohms, on 14.4 volts #normal operating voltage in a running vehicle# This amplifier MAKES LESS THAN 80 WATTS ON EACH CHANNEL AT 4 OHMS. AND FORGET ABOUT BRIDGING IT! IT GOES INTO PROTECT MODE WHEN YOU TRY TO! So, less than 200 total true watts for 75 bucks is what you will really get if you really want this amp.

So far so good. Anything I buy from Walmart is good and if it isn't walmart will make it right. I buy a lot from them. The amp plays good and has a good sound.
