I got this yesterday, I added RAM and it works perfectly. This comes with two GB of RAm,which is not much.you can go to a local computer shop and get used RAM cheap and they will install it for free. so for like ten bucks or less you can dramatically inprove the performance.It doesn't have all the bells and whistels as more expensive laptops, but this is perfect for college students who are non art/music majors and people who use thier laptop for basic entertainment and or for office productivity. I am an environmental science major and I use it for college but I also downloaded Civilization 5 and Halo 2 and they work very well on this machine. This can handle some new games and older games.I like the way the machine is set up, and the power plug is not bulky either. I also liek the way the trackpad and track buttons are on this machine, the only thing that i had to get use to was the keyboard. But that is just a minor thing. So if you looking for a great gift for a college student or buying it for office productivity I would just buy this laptop and go get that RAM upgrade.

I am very happy with this laptop. It has met all of my expectations. The Windows 8 upgrade option is a good incentive, considering how much Microsoft charges for it's programs. I expect it to be a way to keep this laptop current at a huge cost savings. I also love how lightweight this laptop is compared to my first one I got eleven years ago. They were out of this one at my local store so I ordered it pick up today at a nearby store and loved the ease of purchasing it this way. Don't forget the 2 year service plan when you buy. Being portable, laptops are just more likely to get damaged. It's cheap insurance. I do plan to purchase a mouse to use with it just for my own comfort since I spend all day on a computer at work.

Everything is fine with the computer. I recommend adding a 4GB RAM module. The laptop comes with a 2GB Module in one slot with one empty slot.

I bought this computer and about three days later took it back and got a decent one. This computer was slower than my 2005 toshiba satellite and would not stay connected to my Wi-fi router.Bad bad bad bad. Don't go to Walmart and buy the cheapest laptop they sell. Spend the money, its worth it in the long run. I bought the new Toshiba Sattelite L855D-S5220 for 500 bucks. It is the best computer I have ever had and looks good to boot.

This laptop locked up the first day. Finally got it to shut down normally. When I turned it on again, it went into recovery mode and never booted up. Left it in recovery mode for over and hour. Returned the next day.

My friend has a earlier model of this computer and its GREAT
I however got a dud 2 in fact the first one i bought and the one i replaced it with both have a problem with there wifi connection they connect then drop the signal they will not stay connected. SO BUYERS OF LONDON KY WALMART BEWARE they must have a bad batch . I originally was going to get a different brand once i returned the first one but they were out of stock so i thought . Well i cant end up with two lemons . WRONG. I will be returning this tommorrow and heading to office depot to check there selection

I wanted a secondary laptop for a job based in my employers house. They never had the time to set up an account on their desktop & it was inconvenient to use their desk anyway. I tried using my travel netbook, but that doesn't have enough umph! to it for the office work I need to do. I quickly got tired of lugging my main laptop with me every day, plus using up memory, etc with business work. So I went looking for a decent laptop that was pretty basic at a fairly low cost. I chose this one as while it still has good sized memory, ram, etc., it was still cheap enough to consider buying. I am so glad I did. I can leave it at my employers home in my small workspace & not be in their way. No more lugging to & from houses. I can keep strictly business info in this one & not use any more space in my personal laptop. A win-win situation in my case. It tends to be slow at times here and there, but nothing major that any other laptop hasn't experienced. I wish the numbers were on the right side instead of just across the top, but I knew that when I bought it. I'm just accustomed to that feature on my personal laptop.
