I bought this laptop for my wife and she just loves it. She was using a desktop. She loves the freedom to use it anywhere in the house, hooks into wireless great; she loves the battery life and the 15"+ screen.
The only con is the keyboard letters are hard to see without direct light. Needs either thick letters like Lenovo or backlit keyboard.

This was a great purchase. The laptop is very basic, but for the cost was a very good value. Setup was extremely easy and I have had no difficulties with the wireless as reported with some other reviews.

This pc has an awful wifi card in which you lose connection every 10 minutes. I tried everything to fix it but it is a design flaw. Took it back the next day. Do not buy this computer unless you want to have problems. I suggest you spend a little bit more and buy a gateway or acer.

The first one we returned after about 5 days. It would not turn on. After researching online, it seems to be a common problem with some HP products. Walmart accepted the return without any problems and replaced it with a new one. We have not had any troubles since.

It feels as though I just purchased an old computer. It's slower than my old computer and, were it not for the fact that I have virus protection software and know for sure that I have no virus, I would have thought this computer infected. It is the worst purchase I've ever made. I don't even have words for how upset this thing makes me. I only wish I hadn't thrown away the box so I could return it.

Terrible WIFI connection badly positioned clickers

My first review ever on anything but I did not want others to go through the headache I went through with this product. It was a piece of junk. I am still stunned that HP made a computer like this! I am not new to purchasing laptops, this was my 4th purchase over the years.
Problems
1. The "clickers" in the bottom middle was built with no room for your wrist or arms to move around without inadvertently pushing them causing a left or right click. Other laptops have a small room before the clickers are positioned, not this one. VERY annoying.
2. I ignored the other reviews about how bad the wifi connection was on this machine - bad mistake! The connection was TERRIBLE even when I was right by my at&t gateway modem/router! I cannot watch any video online without constant interruption because it was loosing WIFI connection on and off. I really wanted to keep it with the annoying clickers, but the wifi connection was a deal breaker. I even made changes that some reviewers suggested would help but nothing changed and I finally sent it back today and picked up a different brand for $399 and what a difference!
Thank God for Walmart no hassle return. Save yourself the return, this computer is nothing like what hp does and I am so disappointed in them.

this computer is pretty slow not very fast definaly not for games like skyrim the max fps is like 25 and the lowest is like 10. this computer is good for people that have to go to collage or need a computer for seaching things on the web it might take a little while depending on how big the page is, pages for me normally take 3-5 seconds. the internet conection is not that good on this computer i use my computer right next to the wireless conecter and my internet bar is normaly 3-4 out of 5!

For the price, this is one of the best available. The only issue I have with it is the Wifi card. It will connect and does stay connected however the signal strength is not equal to my other laptops. I really like this CPU/GPU combo. I even loaded Call of Duty MW3 on it just to see what would happen. The game is very playable and the computer remains cool. The laptop is quick, the screen is very bright and easy to read. If your looking for a better than average, low cost system. Check this one out. It is more laptop than you might think.

Would I recommend this to a friend ?? Yes and NO... yes to someone who never had one. Its nice beginner computer. But.. Its not for me. Im used to faster processor. This amd dual core is like A single core intel i1. It cant handle more than 2 pages open at one time. Its super slow. And no its not the speed of the internet but the computer. I evenly called Hp support about it.
