The Sauder Shoal Creek Twin Bookcase Headboard is a right blend of contemporary and conventional style. Made of sturdy wood, this bedding headboard offers years of enjoyment. This wooden bed headboard snugly attaches to any standard twin size bed frame, offering a roomy display area for books, alarm clock, and more. The enclosed back panel of this soft white headboard gives access to cords. It also features two adjustable shelves and hidden storage behind a flip-up drawer front that can provide extra storage space. After waiting some weeks to receive the headboard, I was so excited to finally open the box and begin building. Unfortunately as soon as my husband opened the box he noticed 2 significant pieces of the wood broken. Needless to say I'll be returning it. You get what you pay for!

Great storage headboard with a minor flaw.

Overall, the headboard is great. My 3 1/2 year old daughter likes to hoard items in her bed, so we bought this hoping to give her a place for all her favorite things. :-) It took me an hour or so to put together by myself. The only flaw I saw was part of the white on the outer board was chipped off. It's not too noticeable though, as it's right under the ledge of the top board. Nice and heavy though. No worries of it tipping over or falling apart. Nice value for cost!

i am glad we bought the headboard to match with our 5 yr old daughter's mate bed that this attaches to. what a great idea for the storage part. this sauder product is sturdy and was not hard to put together either. this makes the bed look better.

Was more difficult to put together than it should have been, the instructions were not very helpful and some of the holes were not drilled correctly. Otherwise it appears to be a good, sturdy product.

I put the entire thing together by myself. It looks very nice in my daughter's room. My only complaint is that the headboard leaves a slight gap from the bed. She is only 3 and likes to bring small things in her bed. If they fall in the hole, it's next to impossible to get them out. I did not actually drill the holes like the directions said. If I ever want to use the bed the other way, it would have holes in the side that shows. I feel confident the headboard is not going anywhere . Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase.

This is to be assembled out of the box. It is all particle board, and pieces are attached by the hidden hardware. It looks just like the picture. It attaches nicely to the bed.

Bed and headboard shipped in two shipments. Headboard had minor damage that I fixed with some white paint i had on hand.
The bed portion had pieces that didn't fit. After 4 hours of assembly at the point of discovery I modified the unit so it would finally go together. The entire bed is NOT easilly taken apart. Should have gone the IKEA route. Same money and the entire bed would have shipped at same time.

I wouldn't purchase this bed again. There's a problem with how the drawers are cut that make the directions impossible to follow. The drawers are supposed to have dividers in them, but you can't use them because the holes were drilled on the wrong side. Totally frustrating. I wish I could return it, but I already recycled the box...

I purchased this bed for my 3 year old daughter. It took about 2 hrs to put the bed & headboard together (I'm handy but definately not an expert). The bed is sturdy (it gets jumped on alot :), the drawers were actually larger than I expected and I'm happy about that. The headboard adds quite a bit of storage in the room as well. Very pleased with this product.

Product is relatively easy to assemble and looks nice in my daughter's bedroom. Once it's attached to the bed, it's quite stable -- I would definitely recommend attaching! My only complaint is that once it is assembled and attached it is VERY awkward and difficult to move, even with two people.

I picked my two beds up yesterday and my husband put them together. They were not hard to assemble either, he had them both done in about 45 minutes. I was impressed with the overall quality, appearance, and value. They were not too big and not too small. I used extra long twin mattresses and what I really liked, you cant tell by the picture if the bed frame attaches to the headboard. They do! There is two metal brackets that you attach to the bed frame and head board, they make the whole bed much more sturdy! Over all impression LOVE THIS BED!
