With the Nostalgia Electrics PCM-805 Cotton Candy Maker, you can transform your hard candies into fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth cotton candy that is sugar-free. This hard candy cotton candy maker can be used when you need a low-calorie or low-sugar treat. All you have to do is turn on the sugar free cotton candy maker, pour sugar-free hard candy into the center receptacle and start spinning colorful and tasty treats. This product is compatible with standard cotton candy sugar and comes with different flavors.
Its fun to make cotton candy out of hard candies like Jolly Ranchers! It doesnt make alot so I don't know if its possible to get the big fluffy ones usee at the fair or other carnival events, but its close enough. It will be fun with friends!

I could only make one decent sized cotton candy cone at a time. After that the heating element would clog up and I was unable to use it until after it was cleaned. The heating element becomes very hot, so you can't remove it for cleaning for some time. It was also difficult to remove. I am packing this up for return today. IF you buy this, though I would not, regular table sugar works the best. We tried the floss and various hard candies; the regular sugar made the most authentic looking and tasting cotton candy.

My 10 yo daughter loved this, but the sugar free candies don't produce much cotton candy AT ALL reg candies perform so much better. I haven't tried the sugar crystals yet.
Gets hot really fast and clean very easily. Great Buy

Review 5 for Nostalgia Electrics Hard Candy/Sugar Free Cotton Candy Maker
the results are small but you can add more candy to get a bigger ball. my grand daughter just loves it. the fact that floss sugar is hard to find around here and that you can use the hard candies is a great plus. although the floss can be ordered online, the kids just don't want to wait for it. when the kids have movie night they have the popcorn maker, the cotton candy maker, and the snow cone maker, all they need now is the hotdog maker and their theater is complete, no need for the high price of going out.

I have used a "professional grade" machine before and this seems to work pretty well in comparison. The only complaints I have is that the bowl is WAY too small, it is slow to heat up, and the sticks it came with are useless. The sticks are too big, and the candy doesn't stick to it at all. Roll up some printer paper and you'll be good. DO NOT use that powdered candy, it just melts and makes a big mess. Soak the heater in hot water and it will come out, but just don't do it.

My daugther loves coton candy... Bougth this machine for making it whenever she wants... But here it comes, the machine has a very poor productivity - it takes up to 10 minutes to start making the 1st stick, than the cup that you add the suggar is way to small... When you finish to make a very small coton candy the pot is empity than you have to turn machine off and stat over... Well i Wont recomend it

I purchased this for a sleepover sweet 16 party and it was a hit! It was the one thing that everyone couldnt wait for their turn. Being able to use hard candy made it even better; the girls had a blast mixing flavors. Reminder...please allow 5 min for it to completely warm up.

I purchased this machine for my daughter's birthday party as opposed to renting one. This was a great hit. We made 17 cotton candy cones, one after the other and they all came out wonderful. I first let the machine heat up for 10 minutes just to be sure it was hot enough. I purchased the floss sugar from my local rental company as well as the paper cones. I have not tried the hard candy yet. The cotton candy was so fluffy and very tasty; just as if you would purchase it from a carnival. The only thing I did not care for was the noise that it made and the vibration of the bowl and lid. Other than that it is an AWESOME Machine. I am going to purchase another one for all the summer guest we will be having!!!!

Review 13 for Nostalgia Electrics Hard Candy/Sugar Free Cotton Candy Maker
This does make great cotton candy. I used flossing sugar that I ordered online. I would advise making the cotton candy ahead of time, if you're making for a large group. It takes a LONG TIME to make very much; however, it is very good! If you simply soak the removable parts in hot water when you're done, the cleanup is easy.

Review 14 for Nostalgia Electrics Hard Candy/Sugar Free Cotton Candy Maker
This is an excellent cotton candy maker for the home, meaning, if you only want to make a little bit at a time. Kids will love learning, and making their own cotton candy from something as simple as dum dum suckers. We found that 2 dum dums was just the right amount of hard candy to use to make a small serving, that could be shared between 2 or more people. And you're gonna want to try several flavors, so you want a small serving! This unit came with two plastic cones that really work well. We made our own cones out of card stock, but were not near as happy with them as the washable plastic cones that came with the machine. Know that it does take some time to make the cotton candy, you will not be able to make a bunch in a hurry. I'd estimate it took approximately 15 minutes to make a single serving. (Including the initial warm up time of 5 minutes). About the only negatives I have to say for this unit is the upper plastic 'bowl' covers are flimsy, and I wasn't able to get the lower section to mount properly, although this did not hamper functionality of the unit in any way, just made more mess than I wanted to clean up, which brings me to the other negative, it makes a mess! I knew it would, it did, and for the second round we took it outside (definitely the way to go). It floats bits of spun sugar into the air as it is spinning the sugar (no way around that as far as I can tell), and if you make a lot of candy, the sugar spills out the bottom getting on the unit and the area it is sitting on (again, probably due to the lower bowl not fitting properly). However, hot soapy water cleans it all up in a jiffy. I highly recommend this product to any home with children.

i am a cotton candy lover, have been all my life, i bought this to see how easy / hard it could be to make, the only complaint i could have is my arms get very tired, so i have ordered the full size one that makes a full cone in a minute or less. i did follow another buyers suggestion and ordered the flosssugar for it, i made 4 full size cones in about 45 minutes, i also made some from left over candy canes from christmas, beware of flying candy, it will throw some back at you . once i get the popcorn machine i will have my own movie theater, at my disposal....day or night. oh, my grandson is in sugar heaven as well.i share my love for the fluffy treat with him.

It's awesome, just as expected. Makes a little bit of a mess, but what do you expect from hot flying stands of sugar? Cleans up pretty easily with warm water. The machine itself is a bit larger than expected, but I'm hoping that means a larger motor that will last. Only time will tell. So far, the thing's a champ.

Review 17 for Nostalgia Electrics Hard Candy/Sugar Free Cotton Candy Maker
I bought this for my daughters birthday party. I used sugar floss. It is ok but not for a large output. It is slow. I made the candy the day before the party and it took hours. If you are buying for your own kids to use here and there I think it is fine otherwise I would rent a larger machine.

Review 18 for Nostalgia Electrics Hard Candy/Sugar Free Cotton Candy Maker
I have showed my grand kids how to make cotton candy using this machine and they loved it. I have purchased two type of hard candy to make the cotton candy. Jolly Rancher are harder to work with, and does not retain its soft form on the stick. The second candy I bought was the Life saver, it works better and it is easiler to form and shape. My grand kids perfer the Life Saver over Jolly Rancher candy, because how it can be form and easy too make. It makes more cotton candy and melts faster. Beware! As the candy melts and you start too form the cotton candy on the stick, not all the thin web melting candy is caught on the stick. Most of the fine web will fly into the air. If stand too one side you can see just how much fly everywhere. I recommend too use the machine in a open area and be ready to have fun as its forming on the stick. The tray must be clean ofen so the candy will not stick as you make the cotton candy. I took a deep plastic square topperware and filled halfway with hot water. I use it too clean the candy off the round tray as recommended. It help speed the process of cleaning the tray when needed. The kids hates to wait, and the machine just continues to making cotton candy as long as the tray is kept clean. Follow the direction on the manual for safety. The heated area where the candy melts does get hot. Never let the kids reach for the cotton candy. Last but not less, after cleaning the tray and you return to make a new batch, you will still have excess candy forming during warm ups.
After the first use and the Element has been used. It takes 2 mins from the time you start the machine before the cotton candy will start releasing the web of candy. HAVE FUN! ENJOY!

The machine was great until you poured sugar or the candy into it. It started making loud noises. The wheel was off balance, and the clear top came off. It would not snap on tight.
