The set came very soon after I ordered online, however with 4 collars missing. I called the company and their service replied soon. They shipped me a set of collars which seemed to be used before with paint dropped off. In sum, the set is usable but I would not recommend it.

I have been using them for 6 weeks. I can change the weight fast and easy. The handles have a good grip. Every time I change the weights the paint flakes off of the threads as I unscrew and then re-tighten the weights. Also the handles have a bad smells, but I can live with that. I only wish they sold Dumbbells with more weight.

I am very pleased with this set. The parts were all in good shape and seem to work fine. The bars definitely can hold extra plates and I did see that my local Walmart had some extra plates, although not many. Still, any 1" diameter plates should be fine.
The plates do stay tight when the collars are screwed on. I have nothing bad to say about this set.
Note re: Smell - Yes, there was a smell typical of oily machined metal. It's pretty much gone now after about 1 week. The smell is not as unpleasant as some reviewers have mentioned. Perhaps the version of this that comes with the plastic case would be worse since the parts would then be shipped inside the case. This set is shipped in a disposable box which is not meant for storage, so not an issue.

This cast iron dumbell set is a great value. I ordered it just to add the 6# plates to my existing set of weights, but it would also be a good set for someone starting out. The bars have spin on collars that are easy to use and the plates fit snug. Really can't go wrong with this set.

This is exactly what I needed. With the seperate plates I can easily change the weight from 15 pounds to 20 pounds per dumbbell. Since it came in a pckage, the price was lower than it would have been if I purchased 15 lb dumbbells and 20 lb dumbbells.

I have owned them for 2 weeks now and been using them. The paint surface of the cast iron weights are smooth. From the reviews of other weights it seems it was a problem, but all is well. It is made solid. I only wish they sold Dumbbells with more weight. The delivery to store saves me shipping which is big portion of the cost. I like it a lot at this time.

The weight plates fit in tightly when they are locked with the spin lock collars. They absolutely do not move if they are fit tightly. Very easy to assemble and taken very less storage space when everything is dismantled.
The handles have some cushioning which also provide a good grip. I am a beginner and I am using it almost everyday. I found this very convenient and useful.

I never thought these would have enough weight, but they have more than enough. I have'nt worked out in awhile and I put 5lbs on to start with and after doing 3 sets I was more than done. We really like coating and the grips on the bars. Good product.

Great starter set, but you will need to buy additional weights as you progress. The stated 40lbs. includes the weight of the bars. Odd sized weights (6lbs. and 2.5lbs.)

Great dumbbell set for a great price! Everywhere else wanted at least 30 bucks to ship these. Had them shipped to store, took about 4 days and package came in very good shape. Use them everyday! Exceptional value and great product, if your looking for some dumbbells get these! You can also add more weight with more plates.

For the price, these are perfect, and the size is much better than cement dumbbells. I can put them under my bed. Only complaint is the paint peeling off easily, not sure if they would rust soon.
