Received the Samsung BD-d5700 in 2 days after placing the order. Picture quality is excellent. Set up was straight forward. The internet connection was simple. The menus are easy to read and understand. For the price it is a great Blu-Ray player. Downloading from NetFlix is smooth and easy. The only thing my wife would like to see is the ability to also log on to her Amazon.com account to share her Kindle Fire account with the Blu-Ray player. Even though it is a factory refurbished product I felt that it was as good or better than a new one. At least someone has looked at it and tested it. But to be safe I did add the 2 year warranty.

Out of the box this player was great. It looked new with plastic film covering the shiny black surfaces. It detected several wireless conections when I was doing the set up. All I needed was to enter the security code and Netflix was a few clicks away. I played a few DVDs and blu-ray disc to see how they preformed. They both work great with blu-ray noticably outshining the DVDs. This was a gift for my mother and I would recomend it for anyone.

I ordered it because it is the top rated Blu Ray player and only available on line. It didn't even pay through one DVD before it stuttered, stopped and didn't restart. Refurbished = Junk. Never Again!

Won't play blu ray

I purchased this refurbished Samsung blu ray player and had it for only two days
When it forced me to update the firmware it stopped playing blu ray movies which is the only reason I purchased it. It would play regular DVDs just fine but not blu ray and I called customer service which was in India of course and they said wait 3weeks for another firmware update what kind of service is that I returned it and purchased a Panasonic blu ray player that works perfectly. Will never buy a Samsung blu ray ever again.

This is the second one I've bought, and I'll never buy another. I have this one boxed up, ready to go back to Walmart. It doesn't play Bluray movies - only standard DVD. It's a common problem with this model.

Why buy new when you can buy a refurbished unit that is just like "new" but at half the price! I bought this particular brand/model Blu-ray a few months ago because I have one just like it that i had bought new just a couple of years ago and am using in the den without issue. I've put the refurb unit in a spare bedroom and have used it without any issues/problems. All the bells and whistles work on this unit as if new. This was an excellent buy!

On my son's advice, I ordered a refurbished Samsung Blu-ray Player. I've got to say, I'm impressed! It plays better than a new one. It seems all the bugs have been worked out and I'm happy with my refurbished player! I recommend refurbished. I recommend Samsung products. And I recommend Walmart online to get quality merchandise.

But I didn't expect it to unpack with a broken door to the DVD player. I almost kept it because it otherwise worked with no other problems. I returned it to a Walmart retail store for a refund. Lots of trouble that could have been prevented if the refurb had had better QA.

The sound worked but there was no picture when the player played. Was also missing a screw on the back, the area where the HDMI cord plugged in was loose. Returned it to the store. Bought new Samsung Blu-ray Player at Sears next day. Worked perfect.
