It cooks the rice surprisingly fast. Be sure to rinse the rice well before putting into cooker to avoid a sticky starchy mess. I would prefer that it didn't go into a keep warm mode after the cooking cycle because it is still very hot and continues steaming the rice resulting in over cooked and soggy rice a little burned on the bottom. So be sure to remove the rice after the cooking cycle. Overall a good product. No mess like some other models which seem to splatter all over the counter.

I bought this Aroma 12-cup rice cooker for its size. I felt the 8-cup was a little small and the 20-cup somewhat larger than I needed. For my wife and I, it seems too be the perfect size. The one time I used it since I received it, I added three cups of white long grain enriched rice with the same amount of water, stirred, rinsed, strained, and then added the three cups of water again. To give it a sweetness I also added a 10oz. can of coconut milk. Pushed the white rice cook button and after about 30 or so minutes...De-e-liscious! Rice came out nice and fluffy, with a mild, not too powerful taste of coconut. Chopped up some fresh cilauntra and mixed in with the rice for a little added flavor. I'll be looking for some new recipes soon.

I love my new Aroma 12-Cup Digital Rice Cooker. The touch controls and digital display are cool, Stainless steel matches all my kitchen appliances and the delay timer feature is very useful. Also, has different settings for brown and white rice and another setting just for steaming which we don't see in other brands. It also starts to count down before 10minutes from being done, so we can exactly know when it will be ready. The only thing is, I have to clean the lid every time with a paper towel since the inside lid cant be removed for cleaning.
Otherwise, this is a really cool and cute rice cooker for the price and I would recommend it to anyone.
