I really like it as my first foray into using a small hand held GPS. Good software, I guess. But the biggest blast I would give is the lack of Garmin to send the "Real" 60 page owner's manual. For a novice like myself, using it as is was a struggle in futility trying to grope around with all the keys/buttons and not have it do what I wanted. I had to download the manual off Garmin's PDF for 10 cents a page at my local library $6.00 bucks spent for what should have been included in the box?????? Respectfully Jim

This GPS had many options and did meet or exceed my expectation, but the screen was too small for me. I believe it would be a great tool for someone with near perfect eyesight. That is my only issue with it; I returned it today.

I bought this GPS to Geocache. I am a beginner at Geocaching also. The GPS is easy to operate. The only problem we have is that it seems to freeze up at times and does not change distance. It could be it is not receiving the signal very well. Other than that we use it all the time and it gets the job done.

I'm a KISS (keep it simple stupid) type of consumer and the Gamin Trex is exactly what I was looking for in a GPS. The number of features make it perfect for the weekend warrior who doesn't need the full blown capabilities of the more expensive models. This model is rugged, dependable, durable, waterproof, and easy to use and navigate with. I highly recommend this device to anyone looking for a good, simple, dependable GPS.

I bought this little guy for geocaching. I'm a beginner and this suits my purposes just fine. With the USB cable I can download cache information from geocaching.com. If I had a paid membership to said site, I'd be able to download all the cache information. But I'm not ready to go that route yet. What I get in my download is the cache name, coordinates and difficulty level. That's enough for my needs for now. I'm still learning how to use everything, but I've located five five cache's with it so far and it is very accurate out in the open. There is some signal bouncing in wooded areas. Overall, I recommend this little unit as a great starter piece.
