I use to have an electric treadmill. It was bigger, bulky and noisy. The belt would slip occasionally and I almost fell several times so I got rid of it. This treadmill is manual, and I like that when you stop walking, it stops. That makes the likely hood of falling non-existent. It's smaller than a regular treadmill, so it fits in my smaller home nicely. It arrived pretty quickly, was easy to put together and the directions were easy to follow. I've read other reviews that people have had problems with the display, but mine seems to be working fine, and the readouts compare pretty closely with other exercise tracking phone apps I have. Because of the incline (12% and 19%, your choice), this treadmill is not a walk in the park! I had just started running (outside) and had built up up to 2.5 miles a day before the weather turned too cold, so it's not like I'm totally out of shape. But the first time I used this treadmill, I barely made 30 minutes (alternating walking and running) and I was literally dripping with sweat! So, if you think because its manual, it will be easy, it is not! The frame seems to be as well built as the electric one I had before, just smaller. The only thing I would change would be to put wheels on it so it is easier to move around. Overall, I found it works well and it will give me the opportunity to maintain my workouts during the cold winter months.

Even though I'm 6'1" and 240lbs. this manual treadmill supports me very well. Also, you won't need to use any of your own tools to assemble as it comes with it's own allen wrench/driver. I normally walk about four miles daily when weather permits so this equipment eliminates any excuse for not exercising.
However, this treadmill's resistance is very strong and initially I've only been able to walk on it about 20 minutes(3/4 mile) each time. I don't see how running on this will even be an option because of it's resistance.
If you are a larger person who just wants a basic walking alternative to those thousand dollar plus electric models then this is a simple, well constructed option.

I purchased this unit for my fiancé because she wanted something compact and easy to use. I found it quite easy to assemble because the tools and parts were well labeled. Having read the other review first, I made one small change to the set-up. I added two thin 2 inch long screws to hold the display on the treadmill as the two short screws provided were basically worthless. It held tight the first time and I haven’t had any problems with the display. The unit runs smooth and is fairly quite (not a big deal anyway because she works out to blaring music). The unit feels sturdy and is well built. The “necessary” inclines (because it is a manual unit) provide a challenging workout- better than a motorized treadmill IMHO. My fiancé said she was feeling the burn within minutes of using this treadmill. Plus, it really makes her sweat! It folds in half and takes up less room than a large motorize treadmill. The belt is wide and after two weeks of use we have never experienced any belt slippage. I would definitely recommend this to my family and friends looking for a low cost – high quality manual treadmill. She said it was the best gift I ever got her. :0)

I knew this treadmill would be harder to walk on because it's a manual, but I had no idea that I wouldn't be able to walk on it without holding onto the rails! We adjusted the belt, but even then it still doesn't work right. You can't walk on it without holding on! I definitely won't be able to run on it like I was hoping to be able to do. We are going to keep it for walking during the winter months or when it's too hot in the summer (mainly cause my husband already threw away the box), but if I had known how difficult it is to walk on before buying, I wouldn't have bought it.

The belt requires constant adjustment, it makes so much noise! the back cover piece for the display just keeps falling off I had to put scotch tape to hold it together I could only use the treadmill for 1/2 hr the day I brought home. I returned this product immediately for a refund.

Great treadmill. Easy to assemble, being it's human powered you get a faster workout than having the assistance of motor powered versions. Folds up easy to save space. Glad I bought it. LCD works accuratly and I really like the simplicity of the entire machine.

I guess you get what you pay for. This treadmill is VERY LOUD and unsturdy. It wasn't that difficult to put together other than one step being very confusing. I would not recommend this item to anyone...spend a little more and get a better quality treadmill.

The box was destroyed when it arrived but product was in good condition. The belt is smooth and wider than some of the others I looked at. SO GLAD I got the wider one. I think it would be difficult to walk in a smaller space. It's a great workout. The only problem I had was the console stopped working but I called the company and they are sending me another one. For a little more than a hundred bucks this is a great purchase.

It's a nice looking treadmill but their are issues

I didn't want to spend too much on a treadmill. I chose the weslo because of cost, looks, and dual weights. It goes together pretty easy. However, the screws are too short to hold he display on. After walking on it for just 15 minutes, the rear bearing starting making a rubbing noise between the rollar and the frame. I didn't want to diss-asemble it and take it back to the store so I bought longer screws for the display, took the rear roller out and replaced the washers. Lubricated the parts and put it back together. It seems to work ok now. It's not a bad unit. However, the walmart description said there were wheels to move the unit and there are none. I added wheels to my unit. I would recommend to anyone to spend a little more and get the Stamina In Motion II. It has wheels, bent handle bars to hold on easier, and hopefully built better.(maybe that mfg will send me a free unit.) I used to have a $300.00 manual schwinn treadmill years ago but let it go. I regret that since it never needed lubricating and it was built solid, no issues except hard to move.

For all purposes this is a ok little treadmill. Wasn't too hard to put togather but once I did I realized that it DOES NOT have "built in wheels for easy transport to work out area" as stated and since this is important to me - so I returned it - but it was an ok buy for the money

This is a good treadmill if you are not looking for bells and whistles, just a good exercise machine. I don't have to worry about where I can put it so I can plug it in, and it is very simple to fold away. My husband put it together and he didn't have any complaints. VERY light compared to an electronic treadmill, easily can be lifted out of a vehicle or what have you, by one strong man. I liked this one because it can hold up to 260 pounds, the other manuals didn't have that high a capacity. Just to be safe. But do be warned that if you try to run without holding onto the handrails, or run at the extreme top or bottom of it, the other side will lift up so you need to be careful because it is so light. (full warnings in the handbook) The belt isn't the most quiet but I put some music on and it's forgotten. It is a little tricky to get used to at first but you just need to make your strides exaggerated and you will find it works more smoothly. Within 5 minutes I was pouring sweat! Since you have to get it going instead of just keeping up with an electronic belt, there is strength training and cardio all in one, which is great for someone with limited time. I had to put a board underneath the back, to make it level before I could gain much speed without having to hold onto the hand rails. The track is wide enough for me and the stride just right and I am 5'4. The only problem I had was with the belt wanting to go to one side or the other but that has to do, I think, with my right leg being dominant. Easy to fix while walking, just compensate the stride strength with your left leg- or there are instructions on how to fix the belt. The monitor has worked just fine for me so far. The only reason I gave the expectations a 4 of 5 is because of having to tweak it myself to get to zero incline, that wasn't hard, but it is kind of annoying if you want to do a progressive workout. For the money, though- GREAT

I wanted a decent treadmill to replace the gym on some days. This treadmill does the job. It's not gym quality, but if you're looking for a quick good workout at a good price than this is the treadmill for you. Its definitely not for big men with a long stride, but for a small woman (probably 5'6 or under) its fine. I love how it folds up and can be put away in the closet when not being used. The adjustable incline settings also give you a great thigh workout!

This is pretty easy to put together, and the workout is decent. It's set at an incline (you cannot make it flat) just by design, so you cannot merely take a leisurely stroll on this. You WILL feel the burn. I've used this 4 times a week since I got it, and so far...so good.

I had read mixed reviews about manual treadmills, but I was pleasantly surprised when I got this one. It works great and is not uncomfortable to walk on at all. I picked this one because the handles are a bit higher than on some other models. You do have to walk/jog at a steady pace, but once you get going it is great. So far I am very happy with this purchase and would rather stay home to use this treadmill than have to go to the gym to use a motorized one.
