My 8 year old daughter asked Santa for these walkie talkies and I searched online for product reviews and found some and the kids said in the reviews that they were awesome to have and easy to use. That they are, but I thought the anntena was suppose to light up....and mine don't. The girls do enjoy them and they have quite a high range. My daughter was up stairs on the second level and my other daughter was in the basement and they could hear each other plan as day. When you insert the batteries and turn each unit on, you will hear a fuzzy sound, but it will go away when they are talking with each other. I am just pretty bummed that the anntena doesn't light up.

I bought these for my nieces and daughter thinking that they'd be adequate for 1st walkie-talkies. They cannot be used without the ear pieces and the sound level is not adjustable. With that said, the sound is sooo low that the girls could not hear each other standing 12 feet apart!
