Review 1 for Remington 22LR Golden Bullet

I have three boys and all are recreational shooters including myself. We shoot 22's because the ammo is usually abundant and you get a good amount for the money. Because the typical day out shooting for four people consumes easily 2000 rounds, I bought 4 boxes of the golden bullets. We used them in a variety of guns; from Mossberg, Cricket, Marlin to Rossi. All four guns had multiple jams ( stopped counting after 30), with the Rossi having the fewest because it's a break barrel; out of the first two boxes. Keep in mind that all these guns are throughly cleaned after each use. Long story short, the ammo is the dirtest load on the market I've used to date as it took 6+/- hours of cleaning to get the gunk out! Nothing but Federal for this family from now own.

NO Jambs, NO Misfires, NO Failures

** Despite the description, the item shown & the product id # are for the following (not the 36 grain hollow points). To clarify, these are the 40 grain copper plated round nose version of the golden bullets. **
NO waxy buildups, absolutely zero misfires, zero FTE (failure to ejects), and zero "stovepipes" or jambs. The solid round nose golden bullets are by far the best & most accurate in this price range (under $10/per 100).
I have personally fired over 1,000 rounds through a total of 5 weapons, and have had zero issues.
Ruger single-six revolver
Ruger mark iii 22/45 target pistol
Ruger 10/22 (stock)
Ruger 10/22 (custom)
Remington 597
I shoot average 100 rounds per day with 22LR's. I have a shooting range at my house & easily shoot 3,000+ rounds per month. These are by far the best & most accurate bullets you can buy for the money. The 3 other types that rarely have any problems (maybe 3 misfires/FTEs PER MONTH) are:
1. 36 Grain Remington Golden Bullet Hollow Points (225 bulk pack for $9.97). My revolver LOVES these. They are just as accurate at the round nose within 25-30 yards with a pistol.
2. Federal Automatch (325 bulk pack for about $14). Fires great in revolvers, semi auto pistols, and semi auto rifles. The only downside is availability.
3. Winchester M-22 (1000 bulk pack for about $46). Same performance, no issues, and reliability as the 40 grain round nose Remington Golden bullet. These are also solid round nose, but are plated with a black coating. They do not have any waxy buildup at all.
A few things to keep in mind:
1. Dirty guns/magazines JAMB! 99% of the problems people have with 22LR's are a direct result of dirty guns. You MUST clean your weapons each & every time you use them if you expect reliable performance. Simply cleaning the barrel will not suffice. You need to "field strip" your gun & clean/oil/lubricate all the necessary components that acquire dirt/lead/powder buildup. Unchecked, a rifle especially can become so "clogged" with debris, that it will not load high quality ammo. This also goes for magazines, they must be cleaned regularly. The best way to do this effectively is to watch Youtube videos for your make & model. I highly suggest purchasing a "boresnake" to run through your barrel every 100 rounds while at the range. By doing this while the gun is hot, you can clean the bore completely (before the lead/powder/debris has a chance to cool off & dry onto the bore) and then do a complete cleaning once you get home.
2. SOME 22LR guns are extremely picky about ammo. If this describes your gun, then STOP buying the cheapest "lead hollow points" you can find, and buy some quality copper plated round nose ammo. Even my $800 fully custom 10/22 will not load cheap hollow points. Those are best for single shot rifles, bolt action rifles, or revolvers only.
3. These come in a 100 pack. Once you are done using them, you will still have a perfectly usable case to RELOAD with your bulk ammo in the cardboard boxes!
4. Stock up. Ammo will never get cheaper than right now. It does not "go bad" as long as you are keeping it indoors, dry, and out of excessive moisture.
Hope I helped!

My 702 Plinkster shoots just about anything reliably.. I bought 3 225 round boxes of Rem GB and was really disappointed
I could not get through 1 clip without a jam misfire or FTF.. Only ammo I have had do this this bad
The rounds literally wobble in the case and some I could pull out with my fingers.. Tried all 3 boxes all 3 same thing.. Maybe for a bolt or revolver but def not semi auto ammo.. Just terrible

my marlin hates this ammo. it had 6 fail to ejects out of 325 vs federal witch only had 1 for 600 rounds. this is a very dirty ammo i spent almost 2 hrs trying to get all the junk this ammo spewed in my gun. the "gold" plating on the bullet looks like it is just powder coating and rubbed off very ez.
