I have just finished a major renovation to our 2nd story and I'm trying to make the most of the space. The back room will be a guest room/walk-in closet/my office (no more editing client's videos in the kitchen). I wanted a good corner desk to fill a small spot between the corner and where the chimney juts out into the room about 2 feet. I searched many sites looking for just the right desk that would be affordable, attractive, and sturdy. This desk fit the bill perfectly! Thankfully the dimensions listed were correct. There is literally about 1/4" to spare with the desk between the chimney and the wall.
The Walmart price was the best I could find anywhere on the internet. And with the free ship-to-store option, I saved about $30 the other sites would have charged for shipping.
The quality of the materials for the price is outstanding and is far superior to the desk I was looking at for the same price at that big blue & yellow Swedish store. In person, the black on the storage extension has the effect of brushed-on black paint instead of a solid black. The sliders for the file drawer are heavy duty.
Plan on the assembly to take a while. There are MANY parts, screws, and other hardware, so make sure you have a large clean space to spread things out and work in or things will go missing. I left the printer riser unattached because I have an all-in-one unit that is too big to fit on the riser where it would bolt on.
Be WARNED: the box is just under 4' square and weighs A LOT! Thankfully I have a minivan and the Walmart employee at the pick-up desk brought the desk to my vehicle (while I took care of 2 toddlers) and helped me lift it into the van. Once at the house, I opened the box and brought the desk into the house in pieces with multiple trips.
You CANNOT beat the Walmart value if this desk is the right one for you!

Decent quality for the price. Sturdy enough after built. The top surface is just OK - I feel it should be better quality.. should be more water resistant and easier to clean.
Assembly took a long time (many hours). It's not difficult, just tedious. Given that, towards the end I was spent, and when I turned over the desk portion, not thinking I was assuming it would stand on its own -- BAD idea! It came crashing down, the edge hitting the drawer part of the desk. Thankfully just a small piece was taken off the top of the desk, which I glued back - the other part of the desk was ok.
Also, one other note... the glides/rails for the file cabinet are TWO pieces! You need to take them apart - each piece goes on a separate part.. can be easy to overlook.

The desk is very sturdy and really great looking when finally assembled. I was surpised how great the top of the desk even looks, and where the desk is black it has a little bit of brown streaks to really set the desk off.

After searching far and wide in stores and online I settled on this desk. It seemed to be my best option for what I wanted which was a corner or L shaped desk. I could not be happier! It's sturdy expensive looking, fits perfect in a small corner but has a HUGE work space. I had initially wanted a hutch but after seeing how much space I have I don't even need it. Yes it took my husband hours I think 3 (including breaks) to build but he said the instructions were easy to follow and he was taking his time so I didn't blame him for messing up my new desk. My husband did an excellent job building my awesome new desk. I'm extremely satisfied and I'm a hard women to please just ask my him.

I got more than what I expected with this desk! It's super sturdy and compact. It was worth every cent. I had to take it out the box for it to fit in my car though and it took me 4 hours to put it together but I am VERY pleased!!

I had been looking for a desk for several months and was originally planning to buy an unfinished solid wood desk. They are very expensive and I couldn't find one I liked enough to spend that amount of money. All the other desks I was running across were the same particle board junk that I was trying to replace.
One day I ran across this desk on sale. I really liked the look of it, and the fact that it was reversible, because I wanted a desk oriented the opposite of the pictures.
I read all of the reviews and was excited to see that all of them were middle to high ratings. The long reviews all sounded like people with the same concerns as I had and they had all been happy with their purchase.
About the desk: The box it comes in is very heavy. My husband moved it himself but he complained the whole time, LOL. Everything was well labeled, including the hardware, and there was A LOT of hardware. I think it took about 4 hours total to build the desk but was actually kind of fun since the instructions were so well done and detailed.
It looks very sharp in my office. The cubby holes are great for getting modems and routers off the surface area of the desk, leaving you much more room to work.
The finish is wood veneer but it is of a higher quality than I have run across in the past. I would definitely recommend this desk to friends. Good luck if you decide to buy one yourself! Thanks.

Much sturdier than expected!

I chose this desk after a LOT of searching to replace my old one that was falling apart - as I work from home, it gets a lot of use. The reviews were good and though I've never had anything by Bush Wheaton before, I am in love with my new desk!
It was a little tricky to put together - a few of the labels had fallen off the pieces so figuring out a few of them was a challenge. Warning - there are a LOT of different types of screws and it does take a while to put it together correctly but totally worth it! The directions could have been clearer at times - from the drawing, it looked like the drawer rails were in the middle of the piece instead of at the edge for instance. But I managed to figure it out. Wish I had charged the drill to handle the screws as my hands are sore today from the about 3 hours it took me to put it together (working by myself, a 50 year old woman without a lot of upper body strength). I like that they give you wood glue for the pegs - no other self assembly furniture I've gotten has done that. Once together, it is very, very sturdy.
The cherry color on the top is great - very rich looking. I didn't use the monitor stand on the desk (I use a laptop)...I'm actually going to use it for my TV to slip my DVR under it. I do wish they had an optional extension for the top - would be nice to extend the side opposite the drawers a few feet for more working and leg room, though I've ordered a drawer unit in black which should help.
I kept the top hutch from my old desk and painted it black to match this new desk and it works well. Love the 2 little cubbies above the drawers - the back has cable holes so I slipped my power strip inside one and have my phone and tablet charger neatly tucked in it along with all the cords to avoid the old octopus. Keeps the cords out of the reach of my cats too which considering how many chewed up cables I've had to replace over the years is a big bonus!
The roller on the file drawer is very sturdy - the top drawer isn't as sturdy (though that might be due to my having issues getting all the screws tight!), but still great for office supplies. Wasn't expecting the hanging folder rails in the file drawer and that's a great extra feature.
All in all, I'm very happy with my new desk and would definitely purchase furniture by this company again.

The desk comes in a million pieces and is in one large, very heavy and cumbersome box. It took my engineer boyfriend over three hours to assemble. That's the only downside to this desk. It is incredibly sturdy, very nice looking, compact but roomy, plentiful storage space and makes a very nice workspace for me. Highly recommended.

While it is not real wood, this has been a great desk. I put it together by myself taking about 3 hours. Yes, I did have to take things apart after putting things together because the instructions are hard to follow at times. However, it was well worth it. The desk is comfortable, looks nice, and is very functional.

Very nice desk for the price. I was looking for something that had desk top space but would fit into a corner of our dining room. colors are great. very sturdy. Was time consuming to put together but worth it.

This desk has exceeded my expectations. For the price I was a bit skeptical about the construction but it is solid!! It took me several hours to assemble and worth every minute. The pieces were clearly labeled and the instructions easy to follow. I was impressed at how smooth the drawers glide as often times a desk at this price has "cheap" drawer hardware. I opted to leave off the printer stand as I have a larger printer is bigger and it looks great on the flat surface. I have a small home office and this desk fits nicely in the corner and with the flexibility of the file cabinet I was able to create the space I had envisioned. Plenty of storage, deep drawers and a beautiful finish. Highly recommend this desk!

We already had a Bush desk and wanted to add a new desk to our office. The two desks match wonderfully. We did have a part that was broken when we tried to setup the desk but luckily it was not a major piece. We were able to put the desk together and use it without the missing piece. We called the company to request a replacement part and it was delivered within a day or two. Now it is setup and everyone is happy.

Good quality and very good looking. I bought it for my grade schools child and I wanted to keep it for myself. It looks a little mature for a kid ;). It took my husband several hours to assemble, that would be my only complaint.
