The Black & Decker 8-Cup Food Processor is a handy appliance to have while preparing food. It gives you the flexibility to slice, chop, shred, grate or puree as much or as little as you need. The stainless steel chopping blades and the powerful 450-watt motor work together to process food quickly in the eight-cup work bowl. A stainless steel slicing and shredding disc adds to the versatility and convenience. This stainless steel food processor features a food chute with pusher that helps with easy feeding of items. You can easily observe your food while it is being processed, as the bowl is transparent. Featuring a safety interlock system, this black food processor has touch-pad controls that help with easy operation. Its elegant appearance adds to your kitchen decor.
Just bought this today. Took it out of the box and was preparing to make almond butter with it. Put it all together, turn it on, and what do you know... It doesn't even turn on. So evidently the motor is broken. Will be going back to Walmart in a few to return it and hopefully exchange it.

I bought this to replace my old B&D processor which broke :( This one is larger than the old one, more capacity than I need but the next size down processor was too small. I like the cord storage feature which my old appliance did not have. Too many parts to clean but hey, that's what the dishwasher is for! All in all this is a good product and I would recommend it to anyone asking about it.

I gave 5 stars for value, it was normally $50 and marked down to $29, which even at full price is great for $59 for ten cup capacity. Gave 4 for durability, only had 2 weeks, but does seem very sturdy and so far has worked great!

Review 4 for Black & Decker 8-Cup Food Processor
This baby jams!

We needed an emergency processsor for the nursing home kitchen I work in when our Cuisinart broke . I nabbed this baby up for a song ,thinking it would 'just have to do' until a replacement part for our Cuisneart came in. Surprise, surprise !! This processor is a champ! The blades are about an inch or so apart on the spindle and the bowl is sloped inward ,so everything flies around fast and furious getting a great slice, dice and puree ! Personally, I am quite impressed & I think I like it better than the high end processor it is substituting for. I just hope it's profromance continus to live up to my praise. Oh, and it is all easy to put together and operate and clean ..which is a fantastic bonus when you have several different foods to process to various textures for one meal.

Review 5 for Black & Decker 8-Cup Food Processor
Noisiest and least effective food processor I used

If you are looking for a noisy electric cheese grater, this may be the food processor for you. The grater and slicer portion of this product work OK but you are limited to slicing small things. As far as the chopping part of this food processor goes, forget it. I spent 5 minuted trying to make bread crumbs with this thing all the while keeping my ears covered due to the noise. Based on the decibel level of this machine, there should be a warning on the box: "Hearing protection required"

This processor is basic, and maybe simpler is better. This thing kicked out some awesome salsa, and it's uncomplicated by buttons and speeds and dials. I didn't have to worry about chunks getting hung up; it made smooth work of all my vegetables. I haven't used the slicing blade, which I typically don't, but the processing blade is top class!

I bought this after reading other reviews complaining about the noise and functionality. I knew I could return it if I didn't like it. There is a safety mechanism when attaching the bowl to the base and the lid to the bowl. When one understands this mechanism, attaching and removal are easy. It isn't excessively loud, but loud as one would expect. I made 20 pounds of chicken soup, this tool made it possible. It cut and shredded leeks, potatoes, carrots, ginger, squash, onions, celery and kale quickly and it was easily cleaned. Time will tell if it has longevity.

i bought this 10 days ago and i love it. its very cheaper compared to other brands Cuisinart kithenaid or hamiltonbeach. shredding cabbage or beets is just 2 minute work. it also kneads the dough for tortilla. but we need to clean it immediately after kneading the dough otherwise it sticks.... i would definitely recommend this to all of my friends

I do really like this, it seems to be very good for what I need to use it for. The only thing I don't like about it is that it locks in place a bit differently from the ones I was used to. However, with children around the house I suppose that is a good feature to have.

Review 11 for Black & Decker 8-Cup Food Processor
It leaks!
,

Cons: Made some butter, and when removing the unit from the base, there was a small "puddle" of buttermilk on the top of the base. This led me to believe that some of it leaked into the electronics of the base and may be in the process of doing some kind of damage that I would not have been aware of if that small puddle went unnoticed.
Another thing is that it is only 1 speed. Now that I have experience in food processors (2nd one), a potentiometer to control the speed would be in order. Do you agree?
Also, there seems to be no "butter blade" for the thing. Searched all the websites, including B&D's and still nothing. So I cut a small plastic syrup bottle to fit, burned a hole in the bottom with a pencil torch (great thing to have!) and while the plastic was still molten (extremely soft), I pressed it onto the shaft of the S-Blade so that the plastic would literally beat the heavy cream into butter and buttermilk. The Spell worked!
Pro: It's a nice looking unit, though I'd prefer a red one over a black one to match my kitchen decor.
Recommendation: Put a gasket or O-ring on the underneath side of the pitcher.

This is my second food processor. My first was a large expensive one - the plastic ended up warping in the dishwasher. It was a gift so I had no idea how expensive these things could get. When I researched for a replacement, I realized that I didn't want to spend lots of money. I found this one and it's worked out wonderfully. It does pretty much all of the things my other one did (albeit this one is smaller) without any problem. It doesn't seem too loud to me. The plastic sucker feet things are annoying but no huge deal. So far it's been an outstanding value and I would recommend it for the price.

I've owned this food processor for over a year and recently bought one for my sister. I think its a quality product except for the durability. I had a few pieces break after about the year mark - the accessories are the parts that seem flimsy. I'm still looking for replacement pieces. That being said, I still think its a good deal and a good machine - enough that I got one for my sis.

This Processor is a great value although it is loud. We did notice that if we put a liquid and ice cubes in it the top leaks. Other than that it works great

Review 16 for Black & Decker 8-Cup Food Processor
Don't waste your $$$

Received as a gift. Used it about 6-8 times. Worked fine; but the food chopping blade could do a better job. Did not process very "finely". Leaves chunks of fresh garlic cloves no matter how many times you scrape down the bowl and try to "process" it. Went to use it for fixing Christmas dinner. DID NOT WORK AT ALL. Tried plug outlets; checked all breakers in kitchen. Other appliances running. But this just quit less than 30 days after I received it.

Review 18 for Black & Decker 8-Cup Food Processor
Not disapointed

I just purchased my B & D processor yesterday. I like to make falafel and in order to get the perfect texture a processor is mandatory. First I read all the positive reviews. I was comfortable with most of the comments. It seemed the main complaint was the noise. Since this is not my first processor I understood that it would be noisy but no more so than my last processor. I took the time to read all the instructions and began. It worked perfect! I was not disappointed. My texture was perfect. It was easy to clean (much easier than my older one) and for the price well I was really impressed. I admit I'm a long time fan of Black and Decker products as they are well made and last and last and last. I would advise anyone considering this item to take the time to read the instructions as I believe some of the "negative" reviews may have been the result of not taking the time to find out how to use the processor. A definite thumbs up!

Review 19 for Black & Decker 8-Cup Food Processor
Does not last long enough.

I have really enjoyed this food processor, but after 11 months of use it has become useless. The part in the lid that metal prong slips into has become tore up and the machine will not work at all any more. It worked well for shredding cheese, potatoes, chopping up various things, but I am unable to find replacement parts for this model. I am sure a new lid and I would be set. Being on a very limited budget it will be several months before I can purchase a new processor, but I will go with a more expensive version and pay for the Walmart warranty (it is well worth the few dollars) For a inexpensive model I was happy with this for $25.00 I did almost get my money's worth, just wish it would have lasted longer. Yes it is loud but all motors are.
