Proctor-Silex Proctor Silex 12-Cup Coffeemaker
Innovative and durable, the Proctor Silex Coffeemaker is the nice companion for any modern kitchen. Serving coffee for two or for a dozen is equally easy with this automatic coffeemaker. Stylish and sporting a compact footprint, this 12-cup coffeemaker is equipped with an easy view water window, a dishwasher-safe carafe and filter basket. To brew a fresh batch of coffee, simply fill it with your favorite blend and the desired water level. With the water window, you can see how much water is needed. Then, simply press the switch and the Proctor Silex Coffeemaker starts brewing. If you don't want to wait for the entire batch to brew, turn on the automatic pause and serve yourself - the coffeemaker will continue brewing. I find the basket arrangement questionable. It doesn't look as though it will stand up for very long. Coffee is good though and it looks good.

Great brand name coffee maker for the price. Small so it doesn't take up much counter space and very easy to use. I have only had this product a couple of weeks but I have owned Proctor Silex in the past, so I don't question the durability. No bells and whistles which is what I wanted. However, I do wish it had the auto shut off feature.

i love the coffee maker EXCEPT the cord is WAY too short!! its only about a foot and a half in length. i have to move it close to the outlet every time i use it, then move it back when done and its only 2 feet away from the outlet! MAJOR MAJOR FLAW!!

Last Coffee maker shut off after 2 hour and coffee would get cold and I had to turn on again or reheat coffee in Micro wave oven. This Coffee Make was priced right and doesn't try to control the amount of coffee I drink. I'm quite capable of shutting it off self.. Thank You.

My fault I didn't realize it was a basket type, not a funnel type. We use dark roast fine grind coffee and for more than 2 cups, the water backed up and flowed grounds down into the coffee so I returned it to the store.

The coffeemaker is easy to load due in part to its height, The water window on the right side makes it a left handed fill if you need to see the installed water volume. I have only made 3 partial pots of coffee so far and they were ready promptly. No spills as the decanter is designed cleverly. No clock and no auto shut off which is what I need and do not need. Ideally a thermal coffee butler goes great with this unit. Ease of use and price make this a good buy.

So far so good. I've only used it four times. It does what its supposed to do. Coffee is hot. No auto shut off. Filling the water reservoir is a little tight. I make one pot of coffee a day so if it lasts a year I'll be happy. I replaced a much more expensive Bunn coffee maker that always kept the water hot so you're coffee was made quicker. I guess that's OK if you are a heavy coffee drinker and drink it through out the day, but a little expensive to run for just one pot. The Proctor Silex makes just as good coffee as the Bunn.

this was a 12 cup of coffee maker which is good. it makes coffee in about half the time of my old one. the appearance of the coffee maker is good--black with a chrome insert of the off-on button. it is light weight and sits up on the counter top. excellent job!!

This coffeemaker doesn't have anything fancy about it. Just an on/off switch and that's it. It does take longer to brew than most I've tried though. I haven't had it long enough to find out if it's durable, but so far so good.

Great inexpensive coffee maker

My previous coffee maker was a Proctor-Silex, but the carafe developed a small crack. So because I knew a replacement carafe would cost about half the price of a new coffee maker, I decided to replace mine with a new model. They no longer carry this in the store, so I had to order it online Site-to-Store....which took about a week to arrive. I did look at other coffee makers before ordering this one -- and many of them are really tall. I usually store mine in my lazy susan, so height was a concern. The only problem with this purchase was that the size was not stated correctly online. My old coffee maker fit in the lazy susan...but this new one is too tall. So I had to find another home for it.
This coffee maker does a fine job of brewing coffee in a short amount of time. I like the fact that this carafe DOES NOT LEAK out the sides when you are pouring----even if you pour out of it quickly (such as when filling the reservoir from the carafe). It is a great machine for the price. I just wish it would have been available in the store so I could have actually seen the size of it before the purchase.
