I thought Woody had quit working and began looking for a place to replace batteries.
I found a switch that allows you to change modes OFF PLAY & DISPLAY under the clothing sort of on Woodys side. Ours had inadvertently moved to the off position. When moved to PLAY not only did it work again but he also said several new things that he had not said before !

My 3-year old son received this for his birthday. He has been watching all of the Toy Story movies and loves all of the characters.
This Woody talks when you pull his string, and he laughs when you push on his stomach. When he pulls the string, the sound is very clear. It's not like the pull-string talking dolls when I was little. Because he's 3, he often pulls the string before Woody is finished talking, but that doesn't change how Woody responds. It is still very clear and Woody makes the new statement. It must be electronic now instead of a real string activated voice.
He doesn't say any of the really funny sayings that Woody says in the movie. My son always laughs when Woody says, ""There's a snake in my boot!' or 'Somebody poisoned the water hole!'" Those two things he doesn't say at all, which is too bad since they are funny statements.
It is a wonderful toy, and any Toy Story fan will love it.

This toy is such a disappointment!! The phrases that my 5 year old expected from Woody he does not say. Theres a snake in my boot!! Signature phrase not even available. It was a total let down, this toy does not meet standard for Disney at all

Says lots of phrases! "There's a snake in my boot," and "Reach for the sky!" His hat falls off too easily, and it doesn't say anything when u put his hat back on like the original. He Laughs a lot when press his tummy...Great Toy. Highly recommend for the price!!!

As far as shipping, it STINKS bad, was late getting to me. As far as the product, it is exactually what the grandson wanted so it made him happy. Nana was not happy due to being late, so had to lie and say one of his toys was riding with Santa still and helping Santa out, so he would be late getting back to nana's house. He bought the story and loves his woody

toy has got a large price ok to buy your own kids but wow what a price over 40 smacks wow however he is cool as heck woody does not say but a few things he says maybe 10 if that phrases for the price i expect more for a 40-50 buck toy if i was you i would put his hat up kids may loose it but he is a great toy my little ones are only 2-3 and they love pull string toys i got one i had when i was a kid for just memorys and they love to pull its string so i thought i should get them one of their own, however woody was short lived for them ever so often they pick him up and use him and he says boy i am glad to see you that is always his first phrase with a string i just think he is awsome i wished the law these days was like good old simple woody instead of jerks i will complete their collection as they get older buzz has small parts not for them yet

This woody figure is a good representation of Woody in the Toy Story movies. He says some
of the lines from the movie, and some new ones too. Very nice size, over a foot long, my 3 year-
old son loves him. Could be a little less expensive, but good quality.

:( pull string stopped working within 1 hr of being opened on Christmas eve, I bought this for my 7yr old daughter who had asked for this for 2 years seemed like alot of money for a takling woody doll. She loved it and was so happy,but then I had to listen to her cry all day about it being broke,shes heart broken!

My 3 yr. old nephew loves Woody and he loves this doll. The string is easy to pull and we've had no problem with it functioning properly. He's adorable and well-made. I just wish they sold them with stands as my nephew gets frustrated with how noodle-like the legs are on all the Toy Story dolls. Incidently, the prices on the Toy Story toys at Walmart.com are 30% less than anywhere else! I purchased Bullseye (Woody's horse) at another store because Walmart.com didn't have him and all of their Toy Story dolls like the ones at Walmart.com were $54.99 on sale! So, the price at Walmart.com beat all the others hands down! Great toy at a great price! I highly recommend this toy and my nephew does, too!

I gave this to my great nephew (3 yrs old) this evening for Christmas and he loved it. He must have received 20 gifts but he wouldn't put Woody down for anything! I was surprised that "Andy" wasn't on the bottom of his boot but other than that the toy was a hit!
