Like a lot of the reviews I was skeptical of the make. Had never heard of it. But it had many positive reviews so I purchased it and I am very happy with it so far. The TV arrived a couple of days before I left for vacation so I have only been enjoying it for a couple of weeks. Hope it lasts as long as my old analog TV. Picture is great as is the sound. Don't know much about all the different settings you can change or adjust but I think it is a wonderful purchase.

This tv looks great but it is terrible. Do not bother with this purchase. The sound was tinny and the picture was awful. I did everything the manual said and nothing helped. This is packed back in the box and will be returned ASAP.

Easy set up, NO PROBLEMS. Swivel base is great. Sharp picture. I was concerned after reading a number of reviews concerning poor sound quality, however, it sounds just like the 32" RCA I switched out for a larger screen. Again, I am quite happy with purchase.

this tv is nice the picture is unbelievable I have family and friends that have the same size but different brands with out saying the names (lets just say the brands that you pay more for the name) are saying this picture looks better. I love it. The sound could use better speakers for what the tv puts out but my TWC told me if I use HDMI wire to connected to the cable box it will sound better. Over all for the price Im very happy..

The tv I purchased I was so excited to hang it up but once we got it out the box hooked everything up and mounted it on the wall the tv wouldn't turn on. I was sad that I had to take it down and pack it back n the box and take it back to walmart. I got a refund and had to add more money to purchase another tv.

Defective Video Driver

I bought this TV a little over four months ago and it had problems right off the bat. Red, green and purple vertical lines appeared on the screen. I tapped the TV a few times and they disappeared. The problem reoccurred from time to time, and a quick tap or swivel back and forth made it go away. Lately it has become worse, so I'll take it back to Wal-Mart to see if I can arrange an exchange.
A Google search revealed it's likely a problem with the video driver(s), whatever those are...

only had the tv for about a month. instructions were a little confusing about setting up the base for the tv. took about half hour to get tv up and running. the sound is questionable. commericals go in and out but overall a very good buy.

DO NOT BUY! My TV had a number of defects. I tried to contact Scepter tech support. You get voicemail and are asked to leave your name and number. I left several messages. Non of my calls were returned. Sceptre has no customer support. Furthermore, I read reviews on the web that indicate this TV tends to fail just out of warranty. One reviewer noted it took 4 months and an outrageous sum to get his out of warranty TV repaired.
I returned my Scepter to the store and was credited what I paid for it, minus shipping costs.
Interestingly, when the bar code on the box was scanned, the price came up as $499.99. The fact that the TV is being sold far below that, told me all that I needed to know.
I tried this off brand. Bad idea. I will spend a little more for quality, on a name brand TV that provides quality customer service should I ever need it.
I returned my Scepter to the store and was credited what I paid for it, minus shipping costs.
Interestingly, when the bar code on the box was scanned, the price came up as $499.99. The fact that the TV is being sold far below that, told me all that I needed to know.

This tv had a great picture when it worked. I just hit the 5 year mark and starting having issues with slow startup. Then today, sound with no picture so I guess that the life expectancy is around 5 or so years. I guess for the price that's not bad but still, seems like a tv should work longer than that.
