It has a code search key that automatically launches code search. It has partial backlighting, which allows you to see the keys in the dark. What else can I say? This remote was extremely easy to coordinate with a Samsung LED TV and a Sony DVD player and performs flawlessly. It even came with batteries! A real no-brainer.

in tring all the codes for this remote for my sylvania tv, none of the codes worked to effectively to even turn the tv off and on. and there was no helpful customer service numbers to help the customer who might have been un able to set the remote up on their own.

great replacement for dtc remote

I bought this to replace a magnavox dtc remote. It works like a charm. Trivial to program. Buttons are much better than the ones on the old remote. Also works great for an off brand (curtis mathis) TV. It's smart enough to know that when I press the volume buttons it controls the TV but if I press the channel buttons it controls the dtc. The only thing missing is a "still" button to freeze the picture.

I just needed a replacement remote for a TV because the buttons on the original gave out. This was easy to program and works great. The only minor flaw I see is it doesn't have an info button but I can use my old remote with that. I haven't tried programming it for my DVD/VCR combo yet.

Well it being universal, Im having trouble just having the remote turn on the tv!! There are a million different codes, even for one brand of tv!! 5 or 6 codes to use for each, then there are more codes to use for dvd player then for dvr. Alot of work for a "universal" remote!!
