I couldnt find a replacement farberware carafe for the life of me. It lasted a year then it cracked. I looked on line everywhere for it because it has a special basket inside of it but no where to be found. Dissapointed.

It won't hold water over night leaked all over my counter. After coffee is made it drips down the coffee pot when pouring the coffee in my cup. Was very disappointed.

Review 3 for Farberware® 12-Cup Programmable Coffee and Tea Maker, Stainless Steel Exterior
I researched many top-selling coffeemakers & Farberware has one that competes with the best, for a reasonable price. All its special features exceed my expectations. Even when I get a cup of coffee when it's still brewing, there's no drips that land on the hot plate (of course, if you grab it quickly any drips will hit the hot plate...FYI.) I love the beep alarm when the coffee is ready & the beep at the automatic shut off in 2 hrs. The pot has a wider lip to pour & is easy to pour water in the reservior. My coffee tastes good on regular and on strong brew. Love the options! The stainless steel exterior looks great with my other stainless steel appliances. I do own other Farberware kitchenware and I am happy with all my purchases. Thanks Farberware!!

Worst EVER!!!!

We bought this coffee maker because it was programmable and appeared to be sturdy. Unfortunately, we are now on our 2nd one in less than a year. The first one worked for about 2 months and then stopped. It lit up and thats it- no heat, no coffee, no nothing. Well, we were told to cut the cord off and ship it to Faberware, which we did. We received our replacement within 2 weeks, but it only worked for a month. This second just quit on me yesterday with EXACTLY the same problems as the first. Upon first using BOTH of these units, when you brew the coffee, you can actually smell the wires getting hot inside. The smell is stronger than the coffee that is brewing. I am very very disappointed in this purchase and the replacement unit. It states not to return it to the store, to cut the cord off, pay for shipping and they will send a replacement. So, we are left to repeat the same process again, which will probably have the same results within a month after getting a replacement. HORRIBLE

Bought the coffee pot right after Christmas to replace the one we had.We drink a lot of coffee so I told my wife that I was buying a "good" one.Settled on the Farberware because of all the features and looked very sturdy.Worked great for 3 months and then QUIT!Power comes on but thats it.Doesn't perk and the warmer also decieded not to work either. For the amount of money I gave for it,I "really" thought it would last for more than 3 months...Will not buy a Farberware product again

This is the fist automatic coffemaker to not absorb any water. If you started making 7 cups, you get 7 cups when it's done with the brewing cycle. Congrats to Farberware on this accomplishment. It also looks fantastic!

Review 7 for Farberware® 12-Cup Programmable Coffee and Tea Maker, Stainless Steel Exterior
I needed something to brew my iced tea, found this with some good recommendations, and ordered it.
I've been pleased with it and, having a Keurig, only use it for brewing my iced tea. Once I figured out the tea/water ratio I liked, it's consistently provided me with good tea.
Can't speak for how it does with coffee, I've avoided using it for that to prevent cross-flavoring.

Review 8 for Farberware® 12-Cup Programmable Coffee and Tea Maker, Stainless Steel Exterior
I based my purchase mainly on comments from other consumers. I am very happy to say that this coffee & tea maker has far exceeded my expectations. Of course, I made coffee first & was not at all disappointed; but I couldn't wait to try making tea. I didn't have any loose tea leaves on hand, so I actually used tea bags w/stringed tags removed. I made a peach green & white tea, added some honey & refrigerated it. All I can say is, "WOW"! It was incredible w/absolutely no lingering coffee taste. The only drawback is the unavailability to get any additional carbon for water filtration. The 800# said to try back in a month or two & they may be stocked again. In the meantime, I will continue to use the filtered water I always use for coffee & tea. This is a product I highly recommend! Lisa

Went through 2 of these before giving up. 1st one would not hold water but just poured out all over the counter top. The second lasted 1 day before it died. Strong smell of burning wires and then nothing. It is a good concept but poor design. I used the tea maker and even after washing all parts the coffee tasted like tea. Not impressed at all!!!!It's a piece of junk

I received this coffee maker for Christmas and have been using it every day since. I love it! I feel like it's the Rolls-Royce of average priced makers. But I did go from a cheap $12 maker that overflowed all the time and I became very used to drinking mud, not so with this beauty. Other reviewers said the carafe leaks, the first thing I noticed actually was that it *didn't* leak everywhere. Now you do have to put some effort in making sure the lid clicks down onto the carafe securely before pouring or it will leak. But any carafe leaking is easily solved by properly pushing the flip/pull open carafe lid securely down. Others stated that the coffee overflows and that the carafe doesn't line up with the basket leading to this. I have found that if I put in the grinds basket and lock it into place without the carafe being on the burner then putting the carafe in last I have no issues with that at all. I have not used the tea portion yet, as I am a single mom of a 4 yr old and have no time for tea so I can't give a review for that but the rest, I have had no issues. Clean feature is nice and the built in filter feature makes an amazing difference in the taste of the coffee. And what really sold me was the "strong" button feature. I drink very strong coffee and although it does take a wee bit longer to brew, it really makes an exceptional difference in the flavor and you use much less coffee for that strength too, which really saved me money! I would recommend this brand and model for anyone who is looking for great tasting coffee from a coffee maker at an affordable price.

I previously purchased an inexpensive Mr. Coffee for $15.99 and the pump went out within a month. Then thought I would give Mr. Coffee another try and purchased another Mr. Coffee for $34.99. I loved it at first but the pump went out on it in a couple of weeks. So thought I would invest in the Farberware maker. It is more expensive but so far so good. Makes excellent hot coffee and tea. The cleaning feature is great also.

Two days before Christmas my Mr. Coffee died, so I went to Walmart on a really miserable day to buy another one. The bad news was that everything was picked over and not much was left. No high end Mr. Coffee, only the basic one. The selection was minimal at best, I liked the look of the Farberware display and with the advertisement on the box so bought it. Since I am a heavy coffee drinker, it gets 2-3 pots a day ran through it and it has held up great. It comes with the permanent filter for tea AND coffee and a pretty good manual. If also has an auto clean function that if you follow the instructions in the manual does a good job. There is a cleanable charcoal filter that seems to be lasting really well. In short the only thing I would change about the Farberware 12 cup is to put a reostat on the plate warmer since the warmer doesn't keep the coffee hot enough for me.

GREAT COFFEE MAKER

I've had this coffee maker now almost a year and LOVE IT. It's fast coffee tastes great. Was able to buy generic water filters for it but really don't need to since I use an on tap filter system. My only complaint is the Plastic Pour rim cracked and can't seem to find a replacement but was able to get a generic carafe that works but I guess not all pots use the same measurement for cups of coffee. Only had it spill over once and that was my fault for adding more water then the caraffe could hold "DOH" wished they came with a stainless steel thermo carafe for it

I honestly have never written a review of a product before, mainly because I am almost always happy with the things I buy. Well here’s my first. DON"T BUY THIS COFFEE MAKER! Seriously, its the worst appliance I have ever purchased. My Cuisinart unfortunately died after 10+ years and I loved it but for some dumb reason I bought this. I loved the idea of the tea/coffee thing. And truthfully that is pretty cool. But it stops there. This thing is a nightmare, the carafe doesn’t line up with the upper portion so the water/coffee almost never drips into the carafe. It actually stays in the filter bin until the whole thing overflows. Coffee grounds back up into the water tank and coffee all over the counter, down the cabinets on the floor. MESS, MESS, MESS!!! This happened 12 times, count 'em... 12. And yes, I tried everything, trust me. I have a Chemistry degree and a 135 IQ, it’s not me... It’s a design flaw. The only way it will work is if basket, filter, and top all line up absolutely perfectly after a few attempts to do so, then only if the carafe is tilted so it rests in a crooked position partially resting on the raised bottom ring of the heating element. Crazy. Coffee in a hurry. ..Nope. Coffee after 10 minutes of fiddling around then push brew, maybe. Many people in other reviews state the same occurrence. That never happened once in 10 years with my Cusinart maker (not the Walmart model, but the one carried at Sam’s Club). Also, when you pour a cup, the pot leaks! Really, it leaks out under the black plastic rim. not once, every time. Pass on the shoddy unit and spend the extra money on a better brand.

The caraffe leaks very badly between the glass and the top ring. You have to pour your coffee over the sink. I emailed the manufacturer the first day I used it and they said they would send me a replacement caraffe. IT HAS BEEN OVER 2 MONTHS AND I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE REPLACEMENT CARAFFE. They said the caraffe is back-ordered, but how hard can it be to open a coffemaker box, remove a caraffe, package and ship ?

worst coffee maker ever

I was very excited when I purchased this coffee maker-stylish looks and a back-lit clock (surprisingly, very hard to find these days). The excitement quickly wore off as the unit as often as not overflowed, putting grounds and water all over the unit, the counter and floor. I know this malfunction had something to do with how the carafe lid opened the filter basket, but even when it looked "right", it would overflow. Not a nice way to start your morning. I called Farberware within a week of purchase thinking there was some trick to the carafe and basket placement that I was missing and some young man was going to send a new filter basket, though I don't think that would have helped. But seven weeks later, it hasn't arrived. We have purchased totally different brand of maker-it worked great this a.m.- and I returned this unit today.

Farvere customer service agent was rude

I bought this at my local walmart. I bought it because it would fit well on my counter. i decided to check the website to see if there was a stainless steel carafe model available. I couldn't find one so I called the customer service to see if there was a model. To say customer service was rude that would be putting it mildly.
The website is not really user friendly.
It appears to brew coffee well.
The carafe pours well with no drips.
I still don't know if I will keep it because of the bad experience with customer service. Would I recommend this product to a friend? I would tell the friend the product is ok but to consider the possibilty that he or she may experience less than polite efficient customer service.
