My mother purchased a Food Saver Vacuum Sealer and loved it so much that she purchased one for me. This is the best gift I could have ever received. My Food Saver has allowed me to purchase in bulk and save so much on my grocery bills. Since I live in Ohio and she in Florida, she got online and ordered and ship to my store. I picked it up same day which was wonderful since I didn't have to wait for shipment.

I bought this for my mom on Mothers day, she will be 71 in July, Its easy for her to use, she can right the date on it and can clearly see what it is. She can buy in bulk now and save money. She can even make a large pot of soup or chilly and freeze individual portions. We are thinking of buying one for her father too he is 93!

bought this foodsaver online to repackage meat for the freezer. worked perfectly on the first bag only. every bag after that it would not vacuum at all and would start sealing without vacuuming. followed the troubleshooting info in the booklet to the tee and it still would not vacuum. just ended up only sealing each bag after that. expected better.

Even though you bought it from Walmart, call the Customer Service number at FoodSaver. They list Walmart as one of their retailers, and from other reviews, I understand they are VERY helpful. It doesn't hurt to give them a try.

Food Saver Vacuum Sealer is awesome, it is essential for every kitchen. Outstanding for storing your fresh herbs. You are able to cut and seal the bags in just any size you want. It has excellent vacuum, I have to watch closely not to vacuum the contents flat.
Durability, I have not had mine for about 2 weeks so I could not rate it yet.

This is my 2nd one within a 2-year period. I wasn't aware that it shouldn't be stored with the top down and in locked position. With this new one I keep the cardboard insert in it so it will not close tightly during storage. We got a sage sausage recipe from a friend and we bought a small grinder to make our own sausage. We love using this food sealer to keep our sausage from getting freezer burnt in the freezer. I love it!

I bought a FoodSaver model V3230 last summer after buying a large quantity of corn to put in the freezer. I noticed that i had to re-seal some bags, but didn't think too much of it. Months later, when I took a package of corn out of the freezer, it had ice crystals inside the bags and none were airtight.. I used it a couple more times to put on-sale meat in my freezer by sealing and re-sealing the bags to get them airtight. The last 2 times i tried to use my sealer, it did not seal AT ALL...... Of course, 9 months later, i do not have the receipt... VERY disappointed!

This vacuums and seals great and is air tight but all my meat turned brown on one side after being in the freezer over night, I won't use this for my meat again, I'll stick with plastic wrap...my meat "NEVER" turned brown with plastic wrap

When JUST sealing a bag, you don't even know it's doing it other than the fact the light is on. No noise at all. I got this because the cheaper one from another company I had before it was super loud. Would recommend this to anyone needing one.

I purchased this because I had a large quantity of meat that needed to be bagged and frozen. All together we probably used this on about 300lbs of meat and it worked flawlessly. The FoodSaver is very easy to use and works quickly. The bags have done a great job at keeping all the food preserved and has stopped any freezer burn from happening. I'm very happy with my investment!

Allows me to take advantage of the lower prices for family packs of meat, Comes in handy when packing small stuff for storage or trips because it pulls the air out and makes the package smaller and tighter. Keeps things together without movement so there is less breakage or chipping. I really like it.

MyV2060 finally stopped working after 5 years of daily use. I couldn't wait to get my hands on the 2244 model so went over to Walmart and picked it up. So far it does everything better than my old model. I use a lot of canisters and marinade trays and it works great. At first I thought I would go with a 3000 level model that had canister only mode but the 2244 works fine. I just release the latch when it switches to seal. The latch is fine - no issues here and the unit looks great on my counter top. I've bagged pork loin roast and sliced chops perfectly for freezer use. I also use the sealer only function to reseal potato chip bags etc. FoodSaver saves me a lot of money on my food costs and it keeps my food fresh longer for better taste, quality and shelf life.

I've used many vacuum sealers and this one is just average. It vacuums just enough to get 90% of air out before sealing, leaving a thin 10% air layer around food. The seals and vacuum power combine to contribute to the problem. The sealer also fails to properly seal sometimes, requiring e to start the process over. It will get the job done, but I will be spending my money on a commercial unit soon to ensure all extra air and liquids are removed before sealing.
