The hot water is HOT and the cold water is COLD!! I don't normally participate in reviews and such, but I would highly recommend this to anyone. I have a family of six, but I also am a mother of teenagers which increases the footprints that come through my home on a daily basis by at least 50%... On an average day, I have five or more athlectic teenagers (besides the ones I own) roaming throught the house. Before purchasing the water cooler, we would go through a case of bottled water a day. By purchasing the water cooler, I have more space in my fridge and less empty water bottles sitting around!! I like it so much, I bought another one for the barn and have talked family memebers into purchasing one as well. It's great!!
this is an excellent water cooler. it is very short so I had to put it up higher so my son would not be able to reach the buttons. I do like the child safety for the hot water button. if I were going to buy again though I might consider the bottom loader. it's a little less hassle that way. the top loaders you have to either buy special spill proof caps for the bottles or worry about spilling all over. all in all this cooler is wonderful and I would definitely recommend it! very good price too!
For $90 who can beat this! Switches for on and off for hot and cold at the back are very helpful to save energy aside from the fact that it has energy saver feature.

Review 5 for Primo Top-Load Water Cooler, White
didn't work for us

This cooler worked for 1 bottle of water and would never dispense water from either side again.
We have had horrible luck with water coolers at our office and this one didn't even make it past the opening stage. The hot water worked, the cold water never dispensed any water. I called Primo Customer Service and described the problem. I was told that the problem was inside the dispenser and they have no way of fixing it so you would have to return it and get a new one. Since we had just put a new water container on top; we had to use that water first and will be returning but now we have to wait over a week for the new one to come in. Very disappointing....
I've only had this for a few days now, but so far...
The set-up was easy. Took it out of the box, snapped in the drip tray, and plugged it in. I put the bottle of water on it, which is much easier these days than it was a decade ago when you had to take the cap off and invert it before you spilled it all over the place.
The Primo water bottle tops you only have to take the safety seal sticker off the top, and wash the outside of the cap to ensure you remove any surface dust. You then just ease the inverted water bottle onto the "spike" that pushes through the bottle cap.
There are switches in the back for the hot & cold water as well as the nite-lite. I turned on the cold water chiller and the hot water heater. There are backlit indicators on the front that shows when these features are enabled and active.
I like the fact that dispensing the hot water is a 2-step process, in order to keep children from accidentally scalding themselves if they get a hold of the dispensing buttons. The dispensing buttons are on the top of the unit rather than the old-fashioned type where you had to push down on the top of the actual spigot. This is much easier.
I also signed up for home water delivery so that I do not have to go out anywhere to get water bottles if I do not want to. The service I signed-up with also delivers other soft drink products as well, so an added bonus.
Thus far I have nothing negative to note about this unit. I am hoping that it will give us at least two years of good service. If not, I bought the 2-year warranty.
Thus far, I would recommend this product to anyone who uses bottled water.
Water tower is a space saver in out small Kitchen!

Review 11 for Primo Top-Load Water Cooler, White
impossible to find replacement parts

Loading a wal mart bottle without a cap is very messy. It would be nice to have cap available to go on the bottle so that you dont slosh water everywhere when placing the bottle on the cooler. The probe on the top has broken. It would be easy to replace if they were available anywhere. water dispenser would be good if wal mart carried caps for the water bottles and replacement parts. I tried to go to the primo web site and they dont allow access without a password. They dont give you the opportunity to get the password
I was a bit worried about purchasing this unit but the price was right and the good reviews much greater than the bad.
First of all, the unit looks just as the images show. A very wonderful addition to our kitchen area without looking out of place. The initial setup was quite simple. All I needed to do was simply remove the straps and pull the box upward and over the unit. I really appreciated that. The unit comes with a nice setup to fasten it to the wall to prevent it from tipping over. As I am in a rental unit and unable to put holes in my walls, I have opted to rectify the situation in two ways; by using the 3 gallon bottles which do not add too much height to the entire structure and reduce chances of tipping over; and by raising the front of the unit by 1/4 inch using a cardboard insert.
As far as the actual use of the unit, I have not had any of the plastic taste that some people complained about. I did drain at least 1 quart of water after I first set it up. The cold water could be a bit colder but it is great for drinking without getting the burning feeling in your throat. The hot water also could be hotter but my tea is still hot enough that I need to sip it.
It has been a few weeks now and I have not had any issues with the unit leaking and I am hoping that it wont at all. I did purchase the two year replacement plan just in case.
Overall, not a bad unit for just around the 100 dollar mark. As of now, I would purchase it again if I had to.
We have only had this in use for a little over a week, but so far so good. The installation could not have been much easier, and installing the water bottle is a breeze (has the spike where you just drop the large bottle on top, no opening required like on some). The cold water is very cold, and the hot is very HOT (was filling a soup cup and the paper flap accidentally closed..ouch! so be careful). Just hoping it lasts.
I ordered this cooler after viewing several other web sites, I found this to be the best deal based on price and ratings/reviews. Hot is perfect temperature for cocoa and tea. The cold is very refreshing yet isn't freezing cold. We find it just right. Very easy set up and heats/cools quickly after changing water jugs. We decorated our jugs with several aquatic fish. Looks very nice in our dining entrance. It came with a stabling attachment that you can screw into a wall to prevent from tipping over but we didn't install it. It also has a good child proof spout for the hot water. Very happy with this purchase.

Review 15 for Primo Top-Load Water Cooler, White
Decent Price

Price is decent. Cooler is easy to set up. Hot and cold water are sufficient. I do care more about hot water than cold one because I like to make instant coffee or hot chocolate drink. It's good it has three switches on the back (one for hot, one for cold and another for shut off). This cooler is shorter than my old GE one (hot water dead but cold one is still functioning) and I have to bend down to get the water on this Primo. Overall, it is very good for its price...
I've only had this for a week, but it works beautifully. The hot water is hot. (Hotter than my coffee maker) and although the cold isn't really cold I figure that that is what ice is for. If anything changes I"ll revise this, but as of now I'd recommend this product.
THIS COOLER IS SIMPLE TO USE AND CHILD SAFE. IT DOES NOT HAVE A SMALL REFRIGERATOR DOOR THAT SOME COOLERS HAVE, BUT I KNEW THAT WHEN I PURCHASE IT. IT GIVES OUT COLD AND HOT WATER, AS ADVERSTISED. VERY GOOD PRODUCT. GOOD CONSTRUCTION.
This is a classic, nice looking, simple product. I bought a used item off of Craig's list that had more bells and whistles but I could not get it to work. I took it back. I should have just bought this product from the beginning.
We have had this water dispenser for almost a month. It works well. Two "issues" I have had: It is very short (I am short 5' 3", but I still have to bend to get glass under dispenser but I read a review about this and didn't think it would matter. It is a little annoying, though. Another issue is that the first bottle I used on it was a Primo 5L and it worked fine and I bought a second bottle that was not a Primo brand and it appears to leak a little after you fill a glass. We are in the habit of leaving the glass under the spout for a few seconds after dispensing. Otherwise, it totally works and for the price it is a lot cheaper than paying a monthly fee for this service with a company.
