You can easily install the flap in any of the standard interior or exterior door with the help of instructions included in the package. The flap features an unbreakable Lexan flap. The telescopic frame design is covered, and adjusts to fit doors 1.25 to 1.75 inches. I put it in the door leading from the house to the garage. My 9 yr. old cat wouldn't use it at first. I used a zip tie to keep the door in the open position, and now he uses it all the time. Hopefully he will get used to it and I will be able to slowly bring the door down. I very happy to have this pet door, because it allowed me to move his litter box out to the garage.

This is a very good door for the money. I did not install it in a door, but through a wall. Because of where it is located, you could see inside the house, so spray painted the clear cat door and solved the problem. My 2 cats are now in their element to go outside into the enclosed patio to watch all the birds. Thanks.

Perfect cat door

This is the perfect cat door for my indoor cat. We recently rescued a puppy and she liked to chase my cat. We put this on an interior door to the laundry room and it is the perfect get a way for my cat. Dont let the size fool you, I have a very fat cat and he fits right through without any problems.

Great cat door

I love this pet door for my medium-size cat. I mounted it on the wall instead of the door, and needed a little modification of the interior wall structure to keep the house sealed. However, the door works great and I love the way the flap always "clicks" into a closed position using the magnets. The cat figured it out in seconds. No more getting up in the middle of the night to let the cat out.

I put it in a metal clad outside door, which was a bit of a chore, but it works great. It keeps the cold out, is very clear, and the cats have learned to use it quickly. It does take some training.

I adopted two cats, Jet & Jack. Jet is three times bigger than Jack so it was important the door be the right size. It was!! Jet got the hang of using the door within a day however, Jack needs some help as he is too small to push the door open. I'm sure once he gets bigger he will have no praoblem. In fact Jack has waited for Jet to come in or out and managed to squeeze in or out at the same time! I must have adopted smart cats! LOL! The door was so simple to install. I did it without taking the main door down which saved time and work. I love the fact the cat door can be locked. Jet will eat Jack's food if they aren't seperated at meal time. I lock the cat door which leads into our Florida room where Jet eats so he can't get into the kitchen where Jack has his meals. Solved the problem easily! Great product!! Thanks! Garnet

This pet flap was easy enough to install. The quality is average. The weather striping brush around the edge of the flap doesn't touch the frame but it looks good. The flap is in 2 pieces and fits together well, the door max thickness could be another 1/4" for a better product. Remember to caulk the joint between the halves and the outside perimeter. The lever to lock the door gets stepped on by the cats from time to time, you could tape it in place easy enough.

Door is great for our little Shih Poo. He used it as soon as we installed it! It was a little tough using the template so we traced the opening of the actual door to get a better measurement. This is our first small indoor dog and I am researching everything before I buy. I am very satisfied with my purchase and you can't go wrong with this door especially for the price. I have attached a picture for further analysis!!

Exactly what I expected and good value for the price. Cutting a hole in the door is going to be needed whether you spend $20 or $120, so the install is the install. I can't imagine the more expensive doors functioning any better. If you have a small pet this one works.

I haven't installed this yet because it is for a wide wooden door and I need to put it in an aluminum screen door. It will take awhile to build it up so there won't be any leaks around the door. I would like to see it sold with an adaptor for different size doors. If I had know about this before, I would not have purchased this item.

I bought this to replace an identical existing/old one that my dog (whom the door is not for-its for my cats) broke trying to escape the garage so the hole was already cut, but installation was simple. I have mine on an exterior SINGLE garage wall so had to add some 1" x 1" frameing in between the studs for support. Works great!!!

Two minor issues

The door completely met my expectations with two minor complaints:
1. The cut-out template for the door had a dotted line about a quarter of an inch inside the edge of the template. The directions never specified that you needed to take scissors and cut off the very edge of this template along the dotted line. I thought that it was marking the inside edge of the door so I traced a line around the template on the door. Well I later learned that the hole was slightly bigger than what was required but fortunately the door fit and held in place once the screws were tightened.
2. The four-way lock and the door aren't aligned perfectly so that when I change positions of the lock it doesn't always lock in the right direction without a little help moving the door a bit in the in or out direction. Not a big deal for me since I don't really need to lock it...
