The Maxsa Innovations Solar Powered Flood Light is an ideal choice for reliable source of security lighting. These Solar Energy lights detect motion and activate to light up a darkened entryway, patio, balcony, driveway, backyard or other area. Powered by an attached solar cell battery, the Maxsa Innovations Solar Powered Flood Light is also a good idea for use around campers or RVs, where a conventional electrical power source may not be available. A weatherproof housing keeps these Solar Motion Detector Flood Lights working even in the wind and the rain. Since they are directly connected to their own power source, these Solar Energy Lights can be easily installed virtually anywhere.
Not bright enough and it goes out in the middle of the night. Sorry.

The light works just fine. The 10 foot cord is just barely 10 feet. If it were 15 or 20 feet, that would be better still. There isn't always sunshine close to where the light is needed. But it does illuminate the area where I needed a little light.

It has been hazy so I'm not sure if the sun rays are getting to the solar cell so it can charge the batteries. Sometimes the light is on, but when I come home from work after midnight the light is not on.

The light has 12 LEDs, not 6. I just checked and it was on all night (Jun 8, 2012). I'm using it to illuminate a wooden sign hanging below my raised deck. I have the light positioned almost directly above the carved sign, shining down, and it really makes the relief stand out. The light also spills onto the cement patio below, giving it a moonlight glow. Really beautiful. No fuss now that it's in place. Charges during the day, goes all night. Love it.

Works well. Probably for a smaller space this will be bright enough. We have a big open backyard that we use this on and it is not very bright. Maybe 2 of these being used in a bigger space will produce enough brightness.

To clarify the description, the other reviewer is correct in that this light does not have motion detection. I didn't WANT motion detection, so I am grateful the other reviewer mentioned that.
I purchased two of these lights. One for the entrance to my separate garage, and one for the side entrance to my home, which is our primary-use entrance.
Installation is simple. All mounting brackets and hardware is included, and all you need is a phillips-head screwdriver (preferably electric) for most locations. The lighting unit includes the battery, and is still very light, so you shouldn't need to use the included anchors unless you are going into something flimsy like drywall. I like the fact that after installation, all you do is press the "on" and "brightness" buttons and you are done. The lights come on at dark, and run until the batteries are depleted.
The light has two brightness settings, which is perfect for my application; I set the garage for "low-beam" so it will stay illuminated about ten hours during the night, and I set the house entrance for "high-beam" to provide a lot of a illumination for about five hours. Since I am always home before midnight, this is an ideal setting.
The color of the light is white with just a hint of blue-green cast, like the old style flourescent lights. It's still a good quality and quantity of light, so no complaints there. It illuminates my door, the steps leading up to it, and the surrounding walkway. PLENTY of light for getting the key into the locks.
I consider at under $50 each, this product filled a huge illumination need. I am very happy with my purchase.

Review 10 for Maxsa Innovations Solar-Powered Flood Light
Great Solar Light, but not motion activated.

The description on Walmart's site states that this light is a Motion Activated light. That is not correct, it is NOT Motion Activated, it comes on at dusk and stays on until the batteries are discharged. This is a great light that I use to light up my patio. I have it on the low setting and the light stays on from dusk until 2 or 3 at night. Here's the correct description from a competitor's site: "The Maxsa solar-powered flood light illuminates flags, signs, house numbers, statuary, landscape features, walkways, driveways, porches, decks, sheds, yards or any large outdoor area. Six high-efficiency, super-bright LED bulbs use a fraction of the power of a normal bulb. Lasts virtually forever, with no utility charges. Light will stay bright for up to 4 hours at the Full Power setting, or up to 8 hours when set to half-power, on a fully-charged battery. Durable metal construction with sealed lens is totally weatherproof."
