I bought this for my Dad when his old computer died. The monitor is huge! Very clear, satisfactory speed, pretty much everything most people will need for home computing and surfing the internet. Assembles easily.User guide mentions these are made by Acer which makes a good computer.

Great buy. The kids use it everyday. Guess what, I have four kids. IF this survives here it will survive everywhere (If God pleases) Have been here for a year and s doing AWESOME :) Way better than I expected.
One day the kids even made it crash (software issue) and I was so happy that the machine on its own (As it restarted) went through a "restore operation" and the software was functional again.
Great buy and I really encourage you to go get one.

We are in our 50s and found we dont need a system for gaming or anything like that. We wanted something for day to day use at home ( emails, surfing etc) nothing over the top and something that will be able to grow with over the next few years. This unit has everything we could ever need and room ( lots of it ) to spare. We shuold be set with a computer for quite a few years to come and its so easy to set up and use. The value couldnt be beat.

We have only had this computer for a couple of weeks but it is quick, functional, and a great value. We love the large monitor and the 6 in 1 card reader. I agree with previous comments about the speakers but we bought some Logitech LS21 speakers for $27 and it sounds wonderful.

I have had this computer for almost 4 years now and it's still going and shows NO signs in failing me I could not be more happy with this product. Never heard of an E machine before and wasn't sure if I should buy it or not but I bit the bullet and bought it!! It is one of the best purchases I ever made. If anything ever happens to this one, I will be right there to buy another e machine I HIGHLY recommend this item :)

I got this computer for christmas from my parents, and i love it. I had a Dell computer for 8 years and it finally crashed, it was running so slow with all the programs i had on it for school. I got a job so I could save up money to buy a new computer and when the time came around my parents had gotten me a new one. I downloaded everything i needed on it for school also over 500 song and i have way more pictures on it. It still runs so much faster than the Dell that I had before I downloaded anything on it. I am very pleased with the size of the screen, its very light and has get features and pixles."LED" (: This computer is perfect for anyone who has a lot of music and pictures.

This was a great value. I did not realize it did not have the ability to link wireless to my network but it was an easy fix with an external wireless USB device from linksys. All of my children use it on a daily basis for school work and the internet.

When I got my new computer everything worked fine but some of the settings for Windows 7 are differant then past versions, such as you are no longer allowed to orginize your files your way, you MUST use the auto arrange file option. Keeping things the way they have been is important to me, I just wanted to get a new computer to replace an old one, but that is more of a Microsoft issue.
TO ME THE BIG PROBLEM WITH EMACHINES IS YOU CAN NOT CALL THEM WITHOUT JUMPING THROUGH HOOPS.
If you want a cheap basic computer it's fine, if you need help or have a question OH BOY, then you should never buy an eMachine.
And Microsoft needs to stop changing things for people who don't want change, bring back XP and continue to service your older software. If you don't want to learn a new system spend your money on keeping your old computer as long as possible.

I am pleasantly surprised by the sleek style, the huge monitor/display, and all the bells and whistles that come with this system, even though it was VERY inexpensive. Having been using an eight year old laptop that is probably better suited now for a paperweight, I am THRILLED with this new desktop-style computer. The display is very colorul, I love the "gadgets" on the desktop and the speed of the system. For someone who enjoys a computer but is not an "expert", so to speak, this is a fantastic value. I will shop Walmart.com again and I will purchase eMachines again.

Just upgraded from my old 98 model year E-Machine that I had upgraded to Windows ME and had added cards and drives over the years to this EL1852G-52w with Intel Pentium Dual Core E5800 Processor, 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor, 1TB Hard Drive and Windows 7 Home Premium. E-Machines have always performed great for me. Perfect for everyday usage and always economical. Associated with Acer and Gateway so can't be all bad. Started up right out of the box. The monitor has great picture although the built in speakers suck. The small form factor of the computer case is nice but hinders internal expansion so anything added will most likely have to be connected externally. Overall a great value and for less than $400 you can't beat it.

The computer is great for the price. The only issue is there is a Walmart appx 4 miles from me and I was sent almost 10 miles away to another Walmert to pick it up. There was nothing clear about where to pick up the computer o the reciept or at Walmart, that needs to be changed. Other then those two issues every one was friendly and worked as a team!

The desktop was purchased as a gift for my brother. It was easy to set up and begin using. Works very very well for him and his 2 teenage kids. Mouse seems a bit "touchy" but, there may be a way to adjust that.
I would say for a beginner or someone not too heavy into major video games, this is the machine to have. Some friends have had 1 for 5-6 years and have had no problems.

So I had to buy myself a new computer... I was using my moms spare desktop... But her main desktop crashed... So I saw this computer online... And I noticed it was in stock for my store... I put it on layaway.. And I got it out last week on Dec. 9, 2011. Needless to say... THIS IS A GREAT BUY!! I just LOVE the 20" widescreen monitor!! And the 1TB HD is GREAT for holding all of my music, photos, and movies!!! And i STILL have 850 gb free space!! I've downloaded 400+ songs and I have 500+ photos and about 10 movies stored right now. But there are SOME cons about this computer... It needs MORE USB ports... And The onboard speakers arent that great... Thats about it. Other than that its an amazing computer and I would definitely recommend!!

honesstly i bought this computer for my mom's christmas present. i set it up so christmas day she can just start using it. well it don't work and all the customer service i can get is a machine that can't understand my southern dialect. my advice is to run away as fast as you can.
