I traced the motor the day after I ordered it 3 days later it was at the store to pick up. the people that took care of me were the best. Wish I had written their names down so I could write their names in this review. The next day I was on the water with my new motor and my kayak, you can be sure there will be a lot of kayak men and women buying this motor. The rating should go up to 10 so I could rate it 11 very good piece of fishing equipment I love it. This VariMax 45 sw is awesome. I highly recommend it .
Light weight, great performance, excellent value, but the 18" shaft is too short for my flat bottom inflatable boat. I returned it to Walmart hassle-free, and ordered a 36" shaft - 55 pound thrust motor - even better!
Prop. Cavities. I had to remove Ht. adj. collar to get more depth. And it looks like I’ll have to mod. My motor mt. to get another inch depth. They should have made it at least 24” with that 2” collar taking up the depth needed. Other then that the motor performed great, lots of power and good endurance even in a stiff wind all tide. The Value & Expectations ratings are low due to me having to mod. the product to get it to work proper for me!
Tried this on my Lifetime Manta fishing kayak. I use the factory motor mount for it. The motor assembly and prop hit the side of the kayak. Needs to be at least 6 inches longer. The said it was for a kayak....not my kayak. Seemed like a well made product. Took it back to Wal Mart refund was no problem. The had the same model with the 36 inch shaft and it worked fine. Plenty of power.
