I purchased this computer a few months ago and I could not have been more pleased with my choice. I am not at all computer saavy but I do know that this is the computer that is perfect for me. It is very fast and I have had absolutely no problems at all with it.

This is one nice deal. I got it at my local Walmart for $650. This was for my wife who was replacing her 10 year old Dell Dimension 9100. I have a high end custom built video editing computer and am somewhat of a tech geek.
The monitor that comes with the HP is the HP2311xx. I also have this monitor with my video editing computer. The colors are fairly accurate and bright. I ended up using the "movie" mode which rendered the most pleasant image to me. The only thing bad about this monitor is the tiny buttons along the bottom. But the superior image more than makes up for this. This is a really nice monitor to be bundled with the HP computer.
The HP computer comes with 8 gigs of ram, 1TB hard drive and Windows 7 - 64 bit operating system. This will more than handle most people's needs. It runs fairly quiet and the case seems well ventilated and did not get warm.
The first thing I did after setting up the HP was to examine the preloaded software. Most of it was junk to me so I uninstalled the games, Norton anti-virus and a couple of other programs we did not need. I installed Avast free anti-virus an older version of Microsoft Office and a couple of older Photoshop programs. You need to be careful here because a lot of older programs will not work with Windows7 - 64 bit operating system. I had a Canon scanner that refused to install because Canon never updated its drivers. So if you are planning to use some of your old printers etc. with this system then it might be good to check if their Windows 7 compatible.
In summary this is a great deal and I am more than happy with the purchase.

this computer is awesome and super fast i bought it at my walmart store for 4 $650.00 plus sales tax total came to $693.00 i love this one because of the 3.2 ghz i bought hp p6 pavlion desktop at samsclub back in 2009 it was slow so slow 2.7 ghz

I've been trying hard to write a review that would pass the Guidelines and actually get posted. I am a Tech Expert, and wish I could tell everyone All that's BAD on This Model and give tips on improving the performance without violating Their Warranty.
I purchased the p7-1003wb as a beginning level Gaming Rig for My 10 Yr old Son. Plans were to start modifications after the warranty expired, and increase performance as His age and skill level increased. Unfortunately my Plans have been altered drastically.
I returned the first one I purchased after 12 Days and got a replacement. Please before reading any further go to Your Gadgets Gallery and install the ALL CPU Meter with core temp. for Your sidebar. Please!
You'll notice a very high level of CPU usage, and one or more cores will be spiking approx. ever 5 seconds pass the 60% mark if the PC is left idling for more than an Hour or two. You will have to find, take Ownership, and remove all of the unnecessary and unwanted software like Norton before the CPU usage can be reduced to a "Normal" level. Unfortunately because of said Guidelines, I'm unable to help You through this. Personally it took Me almost four Weeks.
After I finally fixed these problems, the CPU temperature was finally down to a safe level, and the PCs performance was Great, Well, For around One Week. I had been filming and writing a tutorial to post online and decided it was time I ran The Windows Index Experience Score Test again to compare the results to the original scores.
About half-way through the Test the PC Crashed. Unable to re-boot I opened the case and found that the Hard Drive was Completely Dead. Unwilling to go through again what I'd been through twice before, I decided that this PC would best be scrapped and used Only for spare parts.
Even though the extreme chronic pain that forced Me into early Retirement limits the time I'm able to spend online, I can still be found as the Owner or Administrator of multiple PC Technical Websites under various "Tags". Anyone with any questions, May be able to find more information that way.
I'm Praying This gets posted. Thanks and May God Bless America.

I took back a ZT Affinity that out of the box would not work. Terrible customer service from ZT. So I got this HP Pavillion and I love it! I am not too computer savy so HP gave me GREAT customer service and helped me get it set up. I love it! Very pleased.

i have to say this computer was a late Christmas Gift and i was totally impressed with the performance and power this monster has,it's a great value for the price and it's amazing in it capabilities......this is the "newest" computer i've ever owned and it has completely outshined anything else i've laid my hands on, it just powers through anything and everything i can throw at it with the greatest of ease, i'm not used to Windows 7 but i have to say i'm also impressed with what i've see so far...I'D RECOMMEND THIS IN A SECOND !

Like computer but have had problems with it.It whips out desktop and all and have to start all over with every thing I have done.Called Walmart(bought it Jan.19/2012 hooked it up Jan.29/2012.Big mistake if I had known that Walmart has a 15 day return on computers I would of hooked it up sooner.My advice to every one buy the warranty.I am handicaped and it is not easy for me to box up a computer and take it back.Still waiting on Hp to see what I need to do.I think Walmart should tell people when things have a15 day return on them.Most of what I have bought has a 30 day return on them.

I purchased this computer for a Christmas present. Two weeks after we opened it, the computer died. Nothing on the screen. We called HP and they did some troubleshooting over the phone and decided it needed to be sent in for repair. We got it back three weeks later and it was still broken. We called HP again using the same case number and again they did some troubleshooting and determined it needed to be sent in again, or for $80 they would send a repairperson to my home. I asked for them to send the repairperson to my house for free since I had only had the computer for two weeks and because their first attempt to repair it didn’t work I had no confidence in HP’s repair center. They said no. I asked to speak to supervisor and they said there were no supervisors available and said they would have one call me the next day to discuss this. Of course, no one ever called. I called them back again and they said they would have a supervisor call, but again no one ever returned my calls. I finally took the computer back to Walmart and got a refund. Walmart's customer service was wonderful. HP should learn something from them. I used the refund to buy a Dell from Walmart. But the story doesn’t end there. I work at a university that buys about 700 computers a year. We were in the process of renewing our two year term computer contract with Dell. HP had submitted a better bid and we were considering switching to HP. However, after the bid review committee heard my story the contract went to Dell. Building dependable computers is important, but so is good customer service.

I have to get used to Windows 7 but it seems much better than Vista. I prefer XP but maybe that will change with some experience with Windows 7. I'm still getting it set up to use the way I want. I have to find several programs to replace some of my old standbys that won't work in 7.
