Love it - why didn't I buy this thing sooner?

I had never heard of this brand before but after reading numerous positive reviews I decided to take a chance, and have not been disappointed. I bought a countertop unit because I was tired of spending almost an hour a day doing dishes for our family of four but wasn't ready to tear up my kitchen cabinets (and lose precious storage space in our tiny kitchen) to install a built-in model. I come from a family where the tradition has been to rinse the dishes almost clean before putting them in the dishwasher, but you really don't need to waste time, water and energy on rinsing with this machine - just scrape off the largest chunks and load. The unit takes hot water from the tap and heats it up further to get the job done effectively, meaning that properly loaded items come out sparkling, with only an occasional bit of food residue.
A few tips/caveats:
1) You'll need to designate a decent amount of counter space (about the size of a large microwave - see photo) within five feet of the sink. I've also heard that some folks use a rolling cart.
2) I have been using Cascade gel detergent, getting best results by filling both the 15 and 25 ml dispenser cups (they're smaller than a regular dishwasher). You can also use powdered detergent or tablets (it even comes with a little clip-on basket for tablets) but I personally have not tried these yet.
3) Proper loading is key - it's a compact space, so you need to load mindfully so as to maximize what you can put in while leaving enough space for the water spray to reach everything. However, once you get the hang of this you should achieve excellent results. Small and medium-sized pots and pans fit in just fine, but if your plates and bowls have a raised "lip" on the edge you'll need to space them so that the water spray can get between.
4) The plastic "quick connector" assembly (which has the water supply and drain hoses attached to it - see photo) is easy to use but you do have to keep the little metal adaptor that it clips to attached to your faucet. Depending on what kind of faucet you have this may look a little weird, but it's a good tradeoff.
5) Like all portable units that connect to a faucet, you can't use the faucet when the unit is running (normal wash cycle is about an hour and a half). Again, I think it's a good tradeoff and if there was no other way to do it I could have happily lived with this, but in the end I decided to plumb the unit to the hot water supply, which is actually quite easy. This involved replacing the rubber water supply hose with a stronger braided steel 6' hose (comes as part of a universal dishwasher hookup kit) that attaches to a brass T-connector that I installed in the kitchen faucet water line - total extra cost about $25. I haven't gotten around to plumbing the drain hose, so for now it's routed into the sink (see photo).
Bottom line: For less than $300 you can get a machine that's efficient, effective and easy to set up and use. Worth every penny, and then some!

I have been in the market for a dishwasher for over a year and finally settled on the Sunpentown Countertop model. Although it was a bit bigger than I expected, I am VERY pleased with my purchase. It was easy to set up; Most of the pieces were already put together. The machine runs well and quietly. The booklet gives detailed information on exactly how you "need" to load it. I may have taken creative license with the loading pattern a few times and nothing went wrong. One minor gripe: My silverware handles are relatively heavy and thick and some of the silverware slots in the basket are too small. I simply move them to the non-grid side and it works like a charm. Very happy customer!

It is easy to use & easy to attach to sink. I purchased a kitchen cart to keep it on so I can just role it out since I have limited counter space and use it periodically more just for sanitizing than doing all dishes. Cleaning is excellent, its quite and energy efficient. the only down side that I expected since someone else put it on their review was that it does not fit a large dinner plate but I just stick one in at an angle when I am doing smaller items like cups etc... excellent sturdy and I would recommend this to anyone.

Beat up, defective part, and no warranty

It came in with scum on the door where it seals, as if it had been used. The front was scratched in several places, and the aerator in the faucet adapter doesn't function at all. When the dishwasher is disconnected, the water stream is like there isn't a aerator . The dish rack is poorly constructed and laid out and, with major limitations. The space between the rack and the ceiling is inadequate for most dinner plates. And last but not least, I can't find anything indicating a factory warranty.
I ran it once and wasn't happy with it. It was really quiet, but the dishes didn't come out as I expect. I'm going to try it again, but will probably return it.

I love this dishwasher and have only one complaint. The hose that hooks to the faucet is longer than I need. But we will figure out a way to shorten it.

Does not fit to our faucet!!! the adapter connector they provided is too big!!
NOW we have to go to menards and look for a different faucet adapter. I have an apartment so i am not not buying a new faucet just to use this thing, if we cannot find an adapter that fits it is going back to the store, such a shame i was so excited for this thing T_T

Quiet dishwasher with great capacity

I bought this dishwasher after two previous failures with a different brand (leaks, breakage). I waited several months before reviewing to see if this one had any of the same failure modes. It exceeded my (at this point fairly low) expectations by far! The quickconnect is quite convenient (once you've replaced the aerator on your sink). I've never had a dirty dish come out of it so far.
Between the first few uses, I would recommend checking and tightening all the fittings (behind the dishwasher, and on the quick-connector), as I did not get them tight the first time around.
Pros:
- Sturdy and easy to install.
- Much quieter than other countertop brands I have tried.
- You can tell when the JetDry is running low.
- Easy to add a dish quickly at the start of the cycle if you've forgotten it.
- Small enough so that dishes don't sit in it - our two person household runs it a few times a week.
- Cycles are quick but effective.
Cons:
- Difficult to load to "full" capacity. I tend to only be able to load either the front right or back right, and I have yet to find any use for the smaller top rack on the left.
- As with most countertop dishwashers I have tried, it takes some getting used to the difference in water pressure coming from the sink when the adapter is on but the quick connector isn't attached (that is, anytime you're not using the dishwasher).

LOVE this little dishwasher!!

I have done alot of research into the "portable dishwasher" field. I had never seen a counter top version until recently! I have just recently gotten it within the past few days. I set it up myself (which trust me is amazing) with no problems, no leaks, or hassel. After researching the "how to load" section of the manual, I masterd loading it with ease. Its not loud, washes great, and cleans easily. I wasnt looking for a powerhouse large washer, so the smaller size didnt bother me. I just wanted something to help me catch up on days I couldnt stand and wash the dinner dishes. And with the hubby, 13 year old, 10 year old, and one on the way, I wanted something simple and that would dry the dishes too. This little washer has so far done that!! We will see on the durability. But as I said, Im not primarily going to be using this, so the wear on it should be minimal.

Better than expected

My wife love it! It is quiet and the dishes come clean. If my wife is happy with it, I'm happy!
First off, it arrived immediately. Several days before we expected it. It is a really good looking unit and fits perfectly on our counter. It was so easy to install. Actually it would be pretty hard no to install it correctly. It was a cinch. It has produced quality results each time it is run. The only time you are aware that it's running is the water being expelled during the cycles and the three beeps that tells you the cycle is finished. No leaks anywhere. Super easy to connect and disconnect from the faucet. What else is there to say. I'm glad we bought it and I would recommend it to my family or friends. Oh lastly, I did a lot of research before I picked it. It was a little bit more than the one I was going to buy but I decided the extra cost was for a reason and it was obviously worth it.

Not sure what to expect, but I didn't need a full portable dishwasher. It slides just under my 17.2 inch cabinet on the counter top right over my hot water heater. Three quick attachments and the hoses were secured, plugged in and a squirt of dishwasher soap (and filled up the rinse dispenser) and my first load came out spotless. Plenty of program choices to chose from, its mighty quiet while it runs it's cycle - and a friendly beep of eight counts lets you know when it is finished. Heavy duty, well made from quality materials. Really, what else could you want in a dishwasher?

I have only had the dishwasher for a short time, but am really enjoying

really well. I do find it a little bit hard to open but then it doesn.t leak
so that is good.

This is a great little dish washer. I've never had one before so I need to learn to load it properly. Right now I really only get plates, cups and silverware in it. Anything bigger and it doesn't fit or I have to wash it alone. It is so quiet that I sometimes forget I turned it on and forget to shut the water off on the faucet.

Great for RV'ing

Since we plan on doing a fair amount of "dry camping" in our new (to us) RV, we justified a dishwasher as a "water saving device" and ordered this one since it is Energy Star Rated and looked like we'd save water compared to hand washing and rinsing. I took out 3 drawers below our cook top to create a space for this unit.
We've used it on a two month trip now and can say that we couldn't be happier. The plumbing was "easy-ish" since the sink is in the 2nd cabinet to the left of where this ended up. Some additional plumbing pieces for the hot water supply from Ace and the "Vesta DWVBIHK Vesta8482 Dishwasher Hose Kit for Built-In Option" hose kit.

Love my dishwasher. Does the job. All dishes, glasses, etc all clean and when its done washing dishes all are dry. It was worth it and good deal on the price. Very happy about this dishwasher. Also makes a good gift to give to family. My hands at times get chapped and dry from cold weather at times and doing dishes would make it worse , my hands in the winter get so bad from the cold my skin would start to crack on my hands and hurt and ready to bleed but only on my hands so i use special cream on my hands in the cold weather and it helps a lot. This dish washer is saving my hands from pain and possible bleeding . My hands are healing now. I was always doing dishes.
