The Crosman 760 Pumpmaster Rifle is a .177-caliber variable pump air shotgun. The Pumpmaster is a youth classic air rifle that has been around since 1966 making it a highly recommended first time air rifle to shoot. The .177 caliber air rifle is known for its short-stroke and high compression pump action that gives shooters of all sizes and ability levels, fast, easy firing fun. Featuring a smooth barrel, the fiber optic sight air rifle is great for practicing your shooting arm.
I bought one of these and found the receiver had cracked within the first ten shots. I exchanged it for another and it cracked in the same place on the first pump. I got my money back after that. I realize it's inexpensive but wasn't thinking DISPOSABLE.

I picked this gun up today at my local Walmart. Bought it on a whim not really expecting alot in the way of performance just some plinking fun at best. I went out to shoot in my backyard as soon as I got it home and was amazed at the accuracy of this gun, at least beyond what I expected. My intitial shots were taken at about 15 feet from a shoot-n-c target. I tried some pointed Daisy pellets first, which are not exactly top of the line target pellets, and got a 1/2" group with a dead center bulleye. Since I losing light, I switched to BBs just to see what would happen. I got the same results! I backed up to about 25 feet and got 1" groups! With BBs! And all this with open sights! These shot were a taken from a standing postion, unsupported. From a bench rest would probably be tighter. If you could hit a pop can that far away with the BB guns I shot as kid that would be pretty awesome. The cons of this gun are; 1. the stock is pretty short , but since there is no recoil, it is manageable even for a full grown man. 2. there is no windage adjustment for the rear sight, there is elevation adjustment, but I'm going to mount a little 7 dollar tasco scope that I bought with it, so I'm not concerned with sight adjustment, apparently not needed anyway. So, if you're looking for some plinking fun and casual target shooting get this gun! By the way, I gave it 5 stars because it measures up to everything it proports to be, not comparing it with any other gun. There certainly are much better guns out there, but for this price there aren't.

Reading some of the negative reviews, I'm not sure what people are expecting out of a thirty dollar bb gun from walmart. Mine was in good shape when purchased, no issues with the gun not being assembled properly or anything like that. Iron sights are good and accuracy is fine. It comes with a 5-round pellet clip that slides horizontally through the action, but I mainly stick with bb's. I have been through about 500 shots and the gun is still working perfectly. Now, regarding the comments that the gun is difficult to pump....it is a bit difficult FOR CHILDREN to pump this gun. My 9-year-old daughter struggles to pump it more than twice, and my 4-year-old son can't pump it at all. But since they're not allowed to use the gun unsupervised I don't have much of a problem with that. If you want one your kids can pump by themselves, you'll probably want to get a Red Ryder. Overall, a good starter gun for target shooting and plinking cans.

Review 6 for Crosman 760 Pumpmaster .177 Caliber Air Rifle
Good starter for people learning to become comfortable with guns before they get the real thing that is loud with a kick. I may just be weak but it says to pump at least 3 times but no more than 10. I barely got it to the 3. lol I'm hoping it gets easier with time. The pump part is plastic which is weird because the bb/pellet guns I grew up with had wood pump action. However, it is a well-made gun (not a toy, not for kids). It puts out a BB or a pellet with alot of force. I really think the site is cool.

Review 7 for Crosman 760 Pumpmaster .177 Caliber Air Rifle
We bought two of these for our sons, 8 and 6 yrs old respectively. The gun is easy to hold being light weight for small stature. My oldest was able to hit the paper target 30% of the time. My husband and I both found it difficult to line up the target. He's 100% accurate with a rifle and with a bow. Although this is a good starter gun, we think we should have invested in guns with scopes. The unopened second will go back, and we will pay the extra $$ for one with a scope. Overall though, my oldest son is satisfied - but he hasn't used one with a scope.

(INFORMER)for the price u cant beat it shoots .177 pellets and bb's when pumping DO NOT hold the butt stock,,firmly grasp over the reciver and pump decently accurate out to 50 yards any more will require a sighted in scope(youll hit your mark) but it wont be very effective damage wise comes with a pellet clip that holds 5 so don't lose it or its pretty hard to load em in by hand iron sights stay true and it has an adjustable notch for elevation and windage though i doubt anyone besides a military sniper would know how to use that precisely optional weekly-bi weekly oiling to keep it in pristine condition and a coat of rust block is suggested for all metal pieces easy trigger with a cross trigger safety do not expose to high heat or the loading mechanisms magnet will not collect the projectile and load it do not leave pumped longer than an hour or two or it will lose effectiveness

This air rifle was my first rifle and it was and still works great. I have had it for about a year. It is a great gun but when i bought it it was $35 instead of $28. Its my lucky gun because its your own pest controle and it is also good for hunting minc, rabbit, squirl, small birds, and other small animals. You can buy extra gear for it at your local wal-mart. My little brother who was 5 years old when he shot it for the first time. This is a good starter gun or a gun you will want to hold on to for generations. You have to oil it about every 5 to 6 months.

Review 12 for Crosman 760 Pumpmaster .177 Caliber Air Rifle
I am 55....this particular Crosman pellet gun is familiar to me, or one like it..... since Christmas 1968. It performed perfectly then, and follows today espdcially with the fiber optic sight I consider an appreciable improvement.
Suggestions, with reservations that perhaps I simply did not make note, as follows:
* I did not realize that clips for the pellets were additional. It may be clear in the store when viewing, but I was disappointed when I had to order separately through Amazon. It makes it difficult to make a value comparison without knowing that it required additional information. I realize that $5 is not a big deal for me; collectively, it's a big deal for you. Nonetheless, I give your timeliness and delivery condition excellent marks. Happy Holidays, and I'll see you soon....we're "regulars."

Review 13 for Crosman 760 Pumpmaster .177 Caliber Air Rifle
This little airgun has been a steady for over 30+ years; I had one when I was 12 and I am 43 yrs old. This one I bought for my 11 year old. The new version is all black instead of the wood colored pump handle and it has more ergonomic shape than the orginal. It also has a new fiber optic site that is extremely easy to see. I would have to rank it even higher than orginal design by far.

Review 14 for Crosman 760 Pumpmaster .177 Caliber Air Rifle
While I know at this price point the barrel will not be rifled, it would sure be nice if Crosman could add that feature for $5 or so more. I am happy it's assembled in the U.S.A. but would like to know the percentage of parts that are domestic. Also wish the new models made it easier to hand load pellets. I don't like being reliant on a small piece (the pellet loader) that could be easily misplaced or lost in the field. Perhaps including a spare with the gun would be helpful.

I bought this gun for my 10 year old son. It was VERY hard to pump. The butt of the gun was loose when he took it out of the package. I tightened it several times (usually after each use). He brought it in last night and the butt had broken completely off, probaly because the gun is mostly plastic. Luckily I saved my receipt. Returned it to the store, got one a little more expensive, hope it works better than this one.

I got this yesterday night, so I shot it today and at first it wouldn't even shoot!!! Then when it finally started shooting, it shot good once, then when I shot it a 2nd time, the BB just rolled out of the barrel!! And it continued to do this!! sometimes it wouldn't even load the bb!! HORRIBLE GUN!!!!!!! Please don't waste your money on this gun!! My brother has the power line 35 and it shoots wonderfully!!!!! So i would get the power line 35 or some other gun!! It also is not compatible with .177 pellets! Hope this helps!!!

Disappointing Quality

I bought this for my sons to shoot targets. I always supervise and know the gun was handled gently. The second time out, the stock broke away from the gun while it was being charged. The break point shows a metal retainer that hooked onto two thin plastic tabs on the main body of the gun. As an engineer, it looks like a design flaw where cheap plastic was used at a critical joint. An internet search turned this up as a very common problem. Crosman refused to replace or repair as I didn't save the receipt even though the serial number showed that it was made within the year (and had been purchased less than a month ago). After having Crosman guns since I was a kid, I have now learned a 30$ lesson on the decline of their quality and customer service. Save your money and avoid this product.
