Takes 3 AAA batteries, included. It's flat in the back and not curved for a forehead but it doesn't matter. Some people might put it on another object. It cycles through spotlight, floodlight then both spotlight and floodlight then off with the push button switch on the top. You can tilt it down and it won't move as it has a tight hinge that can be adjusted. The lights are bright enough to crawl through dark places and the strap is comfortable right on the forehead. It's not a heavy light and that's good if you have to wear one all day. So the light is good enough to give you good visibility in the dark. IT's low lumen rating of 16 means that it will last much longer than those powerful lights of the same size. You don't need a bright light to do most working things with your free hands and this one stays put and does the job. Not waterproof. I don't know how robust it is but you don't go dropping lights anyway.
