This unit seemed like a good candidate to replace our old kitchen TV -- and for just $160 at Wal-Mart, I ordered it on-line and picked it up at our local store. The set-up went fine and the picture was great ...audio was OK too ...and off-center viewing angles were good. I would have rated the features an "excellent", had they functioned properly. Here's what annoyed me... (1) the remote... very small, with very small buttons, and fairly closely spaced ...and sometimes sensitive ...sometimes not sensitive. This led to (2) a real problem when punching in an invalid channel number. If I pressed "8", then "1", but the remote registered an "881" (an invalid channel on our cable system), the screen would go blue (just like an IBM PC blue screen of death). This would have been OK for a second or 2, but instead of returning control to me for a 2nd attempt, the screen would stay blue for 15 or so seconds. That doesn't sound like a real long time, but count off 15 seconds while you're waiting to re-enter a channel ...and worse, if you were impatient enough to press any key during that 15 second period, the system would add another 15 seconds to your wait. I learned never to attempt a retry during that first 15-second delay. But here's the 3rd reason I had to return it to the store... (3) The unit has a great channel labeling feature. Our cable system has HD channels with numbers such as 118.2 for NBC-TV HD, or 119.6 for WABC-TV HD, etc. ...not easy to remember, and sometimes difficult to punch in on that remote. I could enter a 7-character text ID for each one of the channels, then easily see what channel was what on the TV's on-screen drop-down menu (also a nice feature), then up-n-down arrow to my choice, and just press "Enter" ...but gradually, each channel tag that I generated would disappear from memory. I would re-enter the lost ones, then a day or two later they'd be gone again. Really annoying. Back to the store it went. Maybe mine was defective, or maybe there's a design problem ...don't know, but I decided NOT to go with another Haier. Too bad -- it was, otherwise, a nice unit.

Easy setup, great picture. Perfect size for the location I had in mind. Remotes buttons are a bit small, but memory SHOULD work through the "remote control learning curve" out fairly soon....

I have only had these two tv's for a few weeks, I bought them to go in my spare bedroom and office. I do not use them all that often, but when I have I am very pleased. For the money I do not think you could get a better buy. I saw one the same size on a shopping channel and it was an additional hundred dollars and the only difference was a built in dvd player. If they hold up I will be very happy.

Simple and easy setup got me going quickly. Picture is great on some channels (cable), and so-so on others. I blame the source, not the TV. DVD movie through HDMI looks very nice and sharp. With the sale price I consider this a very good deal.

Very disappointed. I bought two of these to use as computer monitors and tvs. I set one up and initially used it just for the tv function. The over the air tuner was not great. It would pick up 3 stations over 70 miles away with my roof antenna but one of the local stations that is about 1.5 miles away it would either drop the signal or lock up the controls. I have no issues picking up any of these on my LG tv. I then set it up for my computer and when I was closer I noticed a fracture in the screen. Well, that one is going back. I set the second tv up. I didn't even get it running for 5 minutes and knew it was going back too. Although it has no problems picking up the station the first one had problems with. It did have issues with 3 other (seemingly random) channels that the picture had a white and black line going across the top. And a lesser issue was the response of the remote controls and more importantly, the layout of the buttons. Very awkward compared to the average remote control. Common used functions are not grouped together or in the center of the remote. Which makes it difficult to use one hand to operate. I thought this was a great deal for the price, $159/each, but as the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for"

This is a great LCD TV. I use it for a second computer display and for DVD playback in an office setting. It works beautifully. There are two things that caused me to give it 4 stars instead of 5. The sound quality from the speakers is really not good -- I'm not expecting 5.1 digital sound, but it doesn't seem to handle much volume without sounding thin and distorted. It also needs an additional HDMI input -- So many devices now use HD video, only one HDMI input is VERY limiting in how I use this TV. But, it IS GREAT for what I use it for.

Bought this TV online, great deal. Well you get what you pay for. The picture is horrible. The edges of objects looked fuzzy and when objects moved there were tracers. After messing with all the options nothing worked. I also couldn't set the remote to work with Direct TV, After trying all codes. JUNK

I receive service off-the -air, so I had a little trouble with scanning local channels during set-up because the instructions were not clear. I finally figured out the one toggle and it worked well. I have only used the tv a couple days. So far, so good.
