My wife is a retired English teacher. She has taught this area of English lit for too many years to count. She was really impressed with the acting. She highly recommends this disc for anyone interested in this era.

This is a fine rendition of a classic Jane Austen novel, "Emma", with a reasonably good cast ensemble and high production values and though "Shakespear In Love" is modern confection, the cast, screen-play, and production value make for a pleasant entertainment experience even if the inferences are unsupported in history.
