I bought this fan for my bedroom, but I am using it in my small kitchen. The fan takes up very little floor space and it blows lots of air very quietly. Good purchase. Thinking about buying another for my bedroom!

I purchased this fan in hopes of reducing my electric bill. It keeps my living room very comfortable allowing me to keep the AC temp in the house to 76 degrees without discomfort. I have only had the fan for a week or so and have not seen the electric bill yet but I hope to see a significant reduction.

I bought this product after all the wonderful reviews, however, It is not at all what I read, my electric bill has gone up so it definitely does not save from using the air conditioning, It is loud, and and does NOT cool half as good as the regular 20 box fan! Returning this product as soon as I find the receipt!

As per usual when I recived the fan the weather cooled. It tuckes in the corner just as I thought it would. It is nice looking and very quiet. So far so good!

Great Fan, Wished it had Stronger Air Flow

Maybe it's because our family is used to traditional loud blade tower or box fans, but I thought there would be stronger air flow from these Lasko fans (we purchased two). I must say, the rooms in which we use the fans seem cooler, the air seems to be moving more efficiently. Because these fans are so uber quiet, it is easy to forget they are being used.
It's only been two weeks since we've received the Lasko fans; I'm anxious to find out how well they help cool our oven of an apartment in the coming summer months. That will be the true test...

This appears to be a decent fan at a good price. However, I think it is underpowered. Additionally, the 48" height, which is apparently, what you pay more for over shorter versions. I advise to spend $20+ less and get the shorter version as they seem to push the same amount of air. You can't adjust the air flow in the vertical.. so much of the air just gets pushed across the ground; I don't feel much if any flow from the upper half of the fan. However, if you have a small room, limited space and just want a quiet fan to sweep a slight breeze across...this may fit the bill.

I like to run a fan all night because I sleep better in a cooler room and I also like the background noise. When my old pedestal fan wore out I decided to order a tower fan because it takes up less space, and this one got really good reviews. It does a really good job cooling the room (our bedroom is approx. 15 x 17, but the motor makes a rumbling or vibrating sound. It is not exceedingly loud, but it is not a restful sound to go to sleep to. Since we often need a fan in our living room, we decided to keep this one for that purpose, but I have ordered another pedestal fan for our bedroom.

I was replacing the same fan as my other had burned out from years of usage but this one seems to have a stronger air flow than the previous one I had owned which I like even more. Love the remote. I'd buy this fan again.

Totally useless - I think it blows air maybe 18 inches - after that you do not feel anything. If you do not have any sort of air conditioner forget about this...it will do nothing to cool a space of any size...
Logged back online - ordered a Honeywell Turbo floor fan that is half the price and a million times better! Luckily WM is awesome and I returned the useless Lasko; no questions asked.

I think I must have gotten the only one that fell off the truck. The box was very beat up and when I took it out of the box I discovered that the base was broken. The fan is not so quiet. Might be good for the office but not at home. I returned the fan. Very disappointed.

Powerful yet quiet

This is a great fan. It's very powerful and yet it is quiet. The remote control is handy but doesn't work very well. You have to aim it at one certain spot and I still haven't figured out exactly where that spot is. It can take up to ten try's till it finally works. When it's in the rotating setting it's easier to stand up and change it manually. When I ordered this from Walmart they said it would take 7-10 days to get and I got it the next day! That was awesome because we were in the middle of a heat wave. My last lasco fan lasted for 3 years and in the summer it runs almost 24 hours a day. I will only buy lasco fans from now on.

it circulates the air already in the room.... but i like it because it's better than the tradition blade stand up fan.... the air is a little stronger. so as long as the room is semi cool, then you'll be alright.

I love this Lasko 4930 tower fan so much that I bought another one for my other room. It puts out a lot of air and is quiet too. This is the fan to have if you want to stay cool on those very hot days. It also has a nice remote control that I like very well. Easy to use and looks great where ever you place it. And thank you Walmart, you have the best price I could find.

The fan is quiet and moves plenty of air. It fits nicely in the corner of the room and will definitely make a difference.
I don't notice a difference with the Ion filter on or off, so I can't comment on that function.
The one thing that I would highlight is the size. It is bigger than I expected. I planned to take this up and down the stairs whenever we moved rooms. It can be done, it isn't too heavy, but it is tall and climbing the stairs is awkward. But when it is stationary, the size helps the airflow for sure.
